  1. Lets look at what could have happened then. Doyle rides they get a 5-1 and 1 point becomes 3 put them on 45 points after 22 matches. Somerset beat Kings Lynn by more than 7 tonight (possible) leaves Somerset on 48 and Lynn on 47 after 22 matches each. Somerset then get a big away win at Belle Vue and move on to 52 after all matches completed. Lynn then win only one of the double headers against Leicester and Somerset are top. All of that could happen but unlikely. Would Somerset have anything to gain from coming top? No not this season. They wouldnt choose Belle Vue who won their recently and although no Bewley he only got 6 that night and r/r could cover that, they would choose Poole. Somerset by coming second will still be left with Poole as there is no way Kings Lynn will choose Poole. Kings Lynn have won twice away at Belle Vue when Bewley got scores of 11+2 and 9 +2, and beaten them twice at home (Lambert only getting 7) when Bewley also scored 12 and 8. The loss of Bewley makes Belle Vue even more inviting for Kings Lynn. So to sum up..................no matter who tops the table the semi finals will be the same. Why risk your irreplaceable number one getting a worse injury for the important play offs?
  2. The word is flawed.............lol I ask you again......if Woryna aggravated an injury, would you prefer him to keep riding, do more damage, miss the play offs, or rest for the play offs?? Simple question that for some reason you cant answer. I use Woryna as he is possibly the only Poole rider they would struggle to replace 24 hours for an aggravated back injury he can have plenty of treatment. Not one Somerset fan is annoyed he didnt ride but i guess they see they bigger picture
  3. Harris is what you get and in my view along with Woryna has been the reasons why Poole are where they are and why they could on their day sneak the league. There is no doubt Brady has been very poor and is lucky to still have a job. He could come good in the play offs but he also has that tendency to not handle pressure. There has been lots of talk over who is better Brady or Morris but both riders have gone backwards this season. Both a long way behind Fricke now and seeing riders like Jack Holder go past them. Will either kick on? Morris i feel is at his level , Brady could but he needs to move forward next season. Maybe both have suffered with being out and out number ones and the pressure that has brought.
  4. Are you Starman in disguise telling people to go back to their own threads lol You would rather have your top rider race in heat 15 with an injury just to win a match that will ultimately prove irrelevant, and then have him missing for the all important paly offs? Very strange way to look at it. Thank You Jason Doyle we nicked that win against the leagues bottom club as you put yourself through the pain barrier, doesnt matter that we have lost you for the play offs as that win helped us to come second in the league. Im sure Somerset fans would prefer that lol Doyle and Lambert are probably the 2 riders in the league that couldnt be replaced (unless with each other). If the match meant anything then maybe he would have done it. Fcat is it didnt and he didnt need to. Very strange way of thinking
  5. Pooles team has been built with strong reserves and the top 5 chipping in about 7 each. That will win most meetings but if the reserves have an off night then Poole are clearly vulnerable to a team that has proper heat leaders. Technically Poole have 7 riders who are all second strings
  6. Probably not........but irrelevant , Somerset safe in the play offs, know they will face Poole wether they top the table or not, no point over doing things
  7. He didnt pull out of any programmed rides he decided it best not to ride in heat 15. I would imagine with a days rest and treatment he will have a go tonight but if he jars it he may well pull out again and take the rest. Somerset v Kings Lynn thread taken over by Poole fans getting their knickers in a twist. Doesnt matter what happens Poole will be 3rd and then face Somerset.
  8. Stirring as usual He jarred his back again in heat 13 against Nicholls, the same injury he incurred riding Pooles dangerous track the other week. Kings Lynn had already won, he didnt need to risk himself further. Somerset unlikely to top the table and wether they come first or second they would have the easier tie against Poole anyway. And no he cant win the world title but he wants to stay in the top 8 , he will undoubtedly get a wildcard but better to make sure Why would the travelling Rebels fans be fuming? You make no sense. Lets say Woryna picks up a minor injury in his first or second ride. Would you want him to carry on and risk further injury or would you rather he rested for the important play off matches?? Try looking closer to home for riders cheating their travelling support. You and other Poole fans were very vocal about Poole riders 'not needing to try' at Kings Lynn, but yet you come on here and say Doyle cheated Somerset fans...........you really are laughable
  9. Only difference was Stonehewer was full time in the lower league Cook hasnt been. Think also the GP was easier back in Stoneys day with 22 riders ( i think) which meant that there would be around 8 or 9 riders (Andersen, Ferjan, Smith, Walsek, Karger to name a few) that would have all been at the same level as Stoney. Also you could get further in a GP as it was the 2 rides and out system and you could get through race due to a failure of others. I seem to remember Chris Louis at Coventry in 1999? Came second in his first ride then last then second again (due to a rerun) then last but ultimately got to the final and came second! Under the current format he would have had 4 points from 4 rides. Cook now is with arguably the bets 15 riders in the world. He isnt good enough for top ten in the GP but if the gp had 22 riders he would be 15th or 16th i would imagine
  10. It just seems that people want to knock Cook for no real reason. No he isnt a top line gp rider and will probably never will be , age isnt on his side. But when he retires he can say he took his talent as far as he could. People used to mock Harris and Smith but they were in it all the time and by rights as well. There are 15 riders in a gp and most seasons you can always pinpoint the riders that will probably struggle. Maybe the qualification for the riders championship is flawed but thats not Cooks fault
  11. Why do people fell the need to bash Craig Cook? Im not his biggest fan , i was there that night at Ipswich when he got thrown out of the meeting when he behaved like a petulant kid but people knocking him need to look at some facts. He Qualified by merit for the Grand Prix No he isnt going to trouble the top end but so what he deserves his place he earned it Is he really any worse than Pawlicki has been? He was a run off away from regaining his place. He should be allowed to ride who he wants for its his choice He didnt make the rules as to who should ride in the riders championship It sounded like a good meeting so thats all that should be spoke about. The favourite won it, thats what happens
  12. It could happen but can’t see how Poole could beat Somerset. Somerset beat Poole 3 times at home fairly easily and the closest match was when Pooles reserves banged in 21 and Somerset had Claus 000 Vissing in the team. Somerset have not only won at Poole but also kept it close with 3 riders missing Funny things happen in speedway but over 2 legs Somerset quite clearly are better than Poole
  13. I get that So then its ok for the Poole riders to cheat the hardcore support who go to away matches by not trying. We have been told by numerous Poole fans on here that they were not bothered at Lynn as they were assured their play off place. If they have been told to take it easy by either Ford or MIddlo then thats a disgusting way to repay the Poole fans who had made the effort to travel. What really happened was that Poole were totally thumped by a much better side. If the Poole reserves dont fire the team doesnt win simple as that. For this match i expect Poole to win by at least 15.................assuming they are trying of course
  14. I cant understand why you think that Kings Lynn away isnt important so Poole didnt try , yet you expect them to win easily at home? Poole picking and choosing what matches to try in lol Surely the Poole boys wont want to try to hard and get injured.
  15. Go back far enough im sure you can dig out big scores against weaker second tier opposition. Chris Holder hated Wolverhampton but i remember him banging in 15 there once but generally he has been poor Fact remains he is poorer on big tracks compared to the smaller ones.......got sacked by Glasgow because he wasnt good enough at home. Dress it up how you want he simply isnt as good ......no idea why you cant get your head around it. Poole fans been moaning about his lack of speed so they clearly know he has an issue................you seem to think otherwise. In the top league against better riders for whatever reason he is being found out on the bigger circuits In the lower league for whatever reason he has been poor on the bigger tracks As correctly pointed out it will hamper Poole in the play offs. You obviously know better so explain away why he has been awful at the bigger tracks this season?
  16. Many many big scores?? 2 @ Somerset 6 @ Somerset 3 @ Belle Vue 2 @ Peterborough 8 from 5 at Sheffield form the easier number 4 position against a poor side 4 @ Sheffield Home scores for Glasgow against the better sides 4 , 4, 6 Sacked by Glasgow for being not good enough , goes to Edinburgh and hardly loses a race at home. He hasnt done that bad for Poole even away from home as scores of 7 in most matches will testify. He struggles on big tracks the evidence is there in black and white. Scott Nicholls much the same 7.84 at Peterborugh and 8.49 away from home. Worrall either has no idea how to set his bikes up for bigger tracks or simply he just isnt very good on them
  17. Thats what im saying Pooles top 5 are the weakest out of the play off teams and vulnerable in heats 13 and 15. Kurtz is the weakest number one in the league thats not even up for debate and Poole have been winning meetings because of their reserves. Poole beat a very weak Somerset and Pooles top scorer in the 1-5 got 7. You wont win the league with that happening. When Pooles reserves have a bad night like at Kings Lynn then the inevitable happens and Poole get soundly beaten. Pooles team is built around a strong reserve pairing, the others in the play offs are not
  18. I wouldnt say its excuses. Poole have in all possibility the worst number one in the league and they are worried over Worralls poor form especially as he drops to reserve and Woryna cant have 7 rides. They had by far the strongest 1-7 at the start......comical how one poster called them the magnificent 7. How with the amount of riders they have had are they not miles clear is staggering.....can only think the issue may be Middlo. But right now they have the best reserve pair in the league that is about to be broken up so the fans have every right to be worried about the play offs. Compare Pooles top 5 to the other play offs teams top 5 and they are clearly the weakest and its been the reserves winning them matches. Now the reserves will be different so the team may suffer
  19. Maybe in some cases. Cant see it having much to do with the engines more to do with a riders ability on certain tracks, he just doesnt seem to like the bigger ones. Give him a super fast engine and i still wouldnt expect him to do much better at the NSS or Somerset. He has scored 7 away in every away match apart from 3............1 at the NSS and 2 at Somerset....... His scores at home have been up and down bur he has had some big scores and is more than doing his job for Poole. The worry as ive said is Poole having to face either Belle Vue or Somerset with Richie at reserve and Woryna in the team. Woryna hasnt done that well at Belle Vue up against 2 weaker reserves in Etheridge and Drodsz. You would expect Berge to outscore Worrall and Woryna at the NSS In both matches at Poole Belle Vue have been up against it. R/R for Worrall and the weaker reserves scored 3 between them and a 19 point loss. The other match was a 10 point loss with guesta at 1 and 3 only getting 5 between them. Belle Vue at full strength could push Poole closer at Wimborne Road but the fair nature of the NSS and the loss of Bewley means i think Poole will keep it close at the NSS. All immaterial as i think it will be Poole Somerset semi final and Somerset have shown they are the better side
  20. Doesnt matter how 'fast' you make the bikes, some riders are better than others on certain types of tracks. Richie Worrall has never been that good on bigger tracks simple as that Its to simplistic to say his bikes are fine for the lower league. On the plus side he has been fine for Poole but his ability round Belle Vue and Somerset is a concern should Poole face either
  21. Poole will only make the final if they race Belle Vue in the semi finals The NSS is such a fair track that most teams go ok there. I can see Kings Lynn choosing Belle Vue if they finish top and i can also see Somerset choosing Poole as they clearly have Poole measure over 2 legs. Kings Lynn v Belle Vue Somerset v Poole Kings Lynn v Somerset final.................................who would have predicted that at the start of the season? As much as i want Belle Vue to win the league i dont think that will happen this season
  22. Its not just his engines thats obvious. As you said Scott Nicholls struggles on the bigger tracks to thats not just all about his engines some riders are just that way and vice versa. I might be wrong but im sure Nicholls has a better average away from Peterborough than his home one. Its a daft line of thinking that Worralls bikes are good enough for one league and not the other........thats not how it seems
  23. He just isnt very good on bigger tracks simple as that. Nothing to do with what league he is riding in. Poor at Glasgow and good at Edinburgh.......he just cant ride bigger tracks........his bikes arent fine for championship racing he just isnt good on bigger tracks His 3 lowest away scores are 2 at Somerset, 3 at Belle Vue and 6 at Somerset................unfortunately 2 of Pooles play off rivals so his form at those tracks would be a concern Every other away meeting he has contributed 7 points......a good return from 4 rides for a second string to me. At home he has banged in 10 ,8 and 12 from second string but his last 2 performances have been poor. He has been a solid second string for Poole his scores indicate that...............but his ability on bigger track could easily expose Poole in the play offs
  24. The only rider for Poole from the starting line up to have done his job is Woryna. Kurtz and Josh G the only 2 other survivors from the magnificent 7 at the start can both count themselves lucky to still ride for Poole. Long term Kurtz might come good but he reminds me of Nick Morris , good but without the necessary ability to go that step further. Fricke is ahead of both and I would say Jack Holder has gone past both. Kurtz goes missing far to often at big points in the meeting and come play off time that will not help. Poole are vulnerable to a side with 2 top class riders like NKI and Lambert or Doyle and Holder
