Edinburgh - new home required….
Mr Blobby replied to JanAndersen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Again you’re talking nonsense. The council have been actively helping the club over the last year trying to find land that would be suitable this area was found. It was then put on the market for the club to purchase. There was only ever one other bidder. The gentleman who they when I say they I Mean the Labour Party gave it too. The reason the club made it public was to drum up more funds for the project and so everyone could make their community and the council aware of what good things the club had planned for the area. when the meeting happened yesterday all the other agendas were public for viewing but when it came to the speedway agenda it went private and then when finished become public again for the next one. All other parties at the meeting were in favour of the monarchs apart from the leaders of the group which being the Labour Party. All other parties asked for this to be appealed and looked at again but it was waved away by the muppets in charge. -

It’s going to be getting used to build industrial units then rented out. Quick cash for the council or seen by the labour members anyway. -

What a load of nonsense. Everyone was made aware to help drum interest to get the local community involved in it to raise funds. How are the club supposed to do that by keeping it hush. Everyone knew from the start it wasn’t a certainty. The club made everyone aware of that. -

It’s extremely disappointing news for the club as the council helped find the land and put the land up for sale for us to purchase. There was only ever one other bidder who the labour members of the committee who have majority of the vote have given the land too which will be used to build industrial units which he will rent out. Certain members of the board (labour members) have seen the money signs and seen it as a quick cash fix for the council rather than the long term gain and community aspect of it. It really is a shame cause everyone else within the committee was all for the monarchs getting the land but when one party hold the majority vote then what chance do you have. -

Douglas has been in Poland since Friday morning. Between riding electric scooters through the streets on Friday afternoon to going to the GP today. Do I think he was injured enough to not ride probably not. Will he ride in Poland tomorrow probably yes. happens all to often these days unfortunately. -
Might be now.

Douglas not for enough to ride or is it cause he flew to Poland this morning.

Thought when we were 8 up with 5 to go we’d push on cause 9/10 we’re normally very strong from then. Last night it just didn’t happen for one reason or another. Kerr went from being totally useless to popping out the gate in 13/15. Could see Sam was starting to struggle after his 2nd ride. Should’ve had paco in heat 15 as would’ve been on a max if it wasn’t for the fact heat 3 had to get rerun 3 times. Still extremely unsure how that wasn’t awarded as we were 3 laps in and it was well spread out. 4 points it is. Is it enough probably not but these boys have proved us wrong before. Shout out to the big Redcar following last night was great to see so many make the trip and and we’re a good laugh as well.

What are the reason that flint and Brennan aren’t riding? Surely not saving themselves as meeting reserves for Friday where they’ll be lucky to get a ride each. Bit of a p#as take to the paying public imo. -

He did claim at Glasgow last Sunday that he was hoping to ride in the pairs depending on how much movement he had in it. Personally I’d rather be left it till the leagues are back in action. -
Whole thing is a load of nonsense. Bring back the league cup imo.
