  1. I've seen MDL riders faster from the tapes. Harris really does seem at odds with his machinery, I thought the same thing last night at Scunthorpe.
  2. Entertaining meeting for Nige and Kelv to get worked up about. I think the right result in the end.
  3. Must agree. Just the ticket. A nice 1 hour programme with all 15 heats. Just a shame about Sam's mangling of the English language. Well done Eurosport.
  4. Rob seemed to suggest that a change would be made before the visit to Glasgow on May 8th.
  5. Scunthorpe was nominated to host the World U-21 team qualifier a few years ago and then the track was deemed not to meet FIM criteria because of a similar issue. At least the meeting was switched to Lakeside months in advance, not a few days beforehand !
  6. As long as it is edited to show all the heats then I'm quite happy with an hour on Wednesdays.
  7. I've always thought that Wilko was a loose cannon. He's tough and will give his all, but he's always spoiling for a fight. As has been said he needs to concentrate on himself and not be distracted by "petty retributions".
  8. Only one way to find out.....FIGHT! A good way to kick off the new season and my first fix of the year. Plenty of passing and close action. Covatti was star of the show, he always goes well at the EWR and was high on my wish list for the Scorpions line up for this year. I guess he was too pricey for Rob and will have continental commitments at weekends as well. The Scorps were a trifle fortunate to escape with a draw, but if King hadn't kept it screwed on off the last bend of Heat 15 the Witches would have lost. That's speedway. The track was slower than normal and did seem to catch out the set ups of a few riders. Just like the opener at Ipswich on Thursday, no doubt. You can't put too much store by these early season encounters when projecting how your team will fare for the rest of the year. Bottom line is Scorps 5 pts and Witches 2 pts. Scunthorpe would have taken that at 6 pm last Thursday. Hope Wilko is OK. They breed them tough in Boston y'know.
  9. I think that Tai will be in Warsaw for the Grand Prix that weekend. I'm sure he will be seeded to the final.
  10. He's in their squad, but looking at it I don't think he will actually do many meetings, if any. 11. I note that virtually everyone has written off Scunthorpe. They'll change the team as soon as Holub gets an average, so I guess everyone thinks they can judge on incomplete evidence. It's fun to rank the teams on their off-season, but real trophies are won on the track.
  12. Great news. A million thanks to Henderson Insurance. They have been a major contributor to speedway continuing in Scunthorpe and I for one am very grateful.
  13. The website via the link above actually says "(don’t worry, it’s good news, nothing sinister)". Devastated if there is a rise in chip price !
  14. PLRC 11th Sept at Sheffield.......probably.
  15. A few British promoters thrilled with the expanded programme, NOT.
  16. Just a quick note. The fixtures were released last year on 19th January.........
  17. UK has no football from mid May to Mid August, so clash would be limited.
  18. Looking at the six names there is plenty of room for improvement in their averages. The Wildcard is Holub. Will he average over 7 ? Big ask in my opinion.
