  1. Thought I saw Mr Hall and his family on the 4th bend terraces near the pits. Josh failed to get the court order banning Richard from within 100 yards of him, it would seem ! I think the Tigers fans would welcome him as a home track specialist judging by the moaning on this site. Yeah, he may be a bit dodgy away, but most of the fans only care about what they see on a Thursday night at Owlerton.
  2. There was a 20 minute delay because of the low sun. Not the home promotions fault. The rest of the delay was due to R/R, always annoying.
  3. "Financial damage " ? How so, HT ? Paying out extra points money for a couple of fixtures, sure. But how else ? Will all the other teams "extra" match against the Stags show a loss after punters are frightened away by the prospect of a one sided affair? I think that this argument is a little overblown.
  4. All three league points for the Rebels easy-peasy, but I think that Scunthorpe will keep the Somerset score under 60 for a change.
  5. Another heat to put in the EWR Hall of Fame (planning permission for a new extension pending).
  6. Couldn't agree more ! A mini classic. The track was ideal. If all meetings were like this you would get plenty more bums on seats. Pepe was a revelation. Is he a Kumla track expert ?
  7. The Fish has always been a thorn in Scunthorpe's side at the EWR. Game on for Bank Holiday Monday.
  8. A real shame that Glasgow didn't have a full team - it would have been a really tight and interesting meeting. Credit to Wolbert and Harrison who pulled off some exciting moves to give the travelling fans something to cheer. Some easy points for the Scorpions but the value of the seven man team was self evident. Klindt looks full of confidence - as he should do after his performance in the Danish Final !
  9. A fly in the ointment may be that an independent Scotland would no longer be in the European Union. Free movement for workers/riders may be effected.
  10. Final results per sportowefakty.pl 1. Niels Kristian Iversen - 12 (2,3,3,1,3) + 1 miejsce w finale 2. Nicolai Klindt - 11 (3,0,3,2,3) + 2 miejsce w finale 3. Jensen No offence to Scunthorpe's very own "Great Dane", but was it a bit of a gaters paradise last night?
  11. Sounds like a re-run of the League Cup match last month. Seems like the Tigers are letting the track get into their head. For so long Sheffield have enjoyed a bit of a home track advantage as away riders moan about needing an "Owlerton engine" to succeed there. Shoe on the other foot now.
  12. Seven man team works wonders. A very timely boost for the Scorpions. Big win against the Scottish Tiggers tomorrow night and that will be seven big league points in 24 hrs!
  13. Ooh Rob, "a little bit of politics there" as Ben Elton used to say (whatever happened to him ?)
  14. Nice one ! Hope everyone completes a risk assessment before setting off.
  15. Absolute thrilla of a finish! Good to see Woffy looking a bit more like his previous self.
  16. The stream is great, but it's taking forever to get through this match. I guess it's a hazard of 5-rider teams. C'mon Jorgy !
  17. Very sorry for the good folk down from Edinburgh at Scunthorpe yesterday. I presume a lot of them were staying over to take this meeting in. Overnight accommodation booked for nothing. Really good to see plenty of Monarchs fans staying on to see the Stags-Demons match, nice one!
  18. Matt's ride to beat Sneddon was terrific, but one point a meeting just doesn't cut it. I think he will develop into a decent rider, but just like Josh Bates last year the Scorpions have got someone a year too early.
  19. Maybe only one of the twins can be fast at any one time ! Steve is going great guns at the moment.
  20. A very entertaining meeting. Scunthorpe gave the Monarchs too much of a head start, but this Edinburgh side are going to take some stopping in the next few weeks. Will they still be the team to beat come play-off time ? Shame that Klindt couldn't sign in time for today. The R/R and guests have not been adequate cover for Mellgren, sorry to say. I hope that Ashley Birks can kick on from a good last ride, he looks like he needs a boost. Jorgy looked tired in his sixth ride (tyre "gone"?) - one of the disadvantages of R/R is the wear and tear on man and machine from the extra rides the others take, plus Matt W. is only taking 3 of his rides each meeting. I'm afraid that carrying Matt at the moment isn't helping the team get results either.
  21. I think others should take a look at themselves before Matt. As I said earlier today I think that Josh and Ash have been poor apart from odd flashes so far this season. The two guests saved us from a real embarrassment, thanks Theo and Mason. Only silver linings are that the Monarchs will score even more points at home this year, they are the team to beat in 2014. Also we did better than Ipswich managed at Somerset tonight!
  22. Scorpions will struggle if Ash and Josh replicate their form at Rye House on Wednesday !
