Mostly on the money,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, however must disagree about Auty "wiping out Tungate". I was on 1st bend and saw Tungate make a good gate and head straight for the dirt chopping off Auty who started ok from 4. Auty slipped under Tungate to go ahead on 2nd bend and headed fro the back straight fence to block off Tungate's run in a perfectly legitimate move. Tungate clips Auty's back wheel and goes down. Tungate should have been banned for the rest of the meeting. The ref got most things wrong tonight and only added to the rancorous nature of events.

Good summary ! Biggest crowd I've seen this season, but how many were Panthers fans ? The Peterboro supporters were out in force and must have thought they were going home with an easy win after 12 heats....... then one of the best comebacks since Lazarus. I was really pleased for Rob Godfrey who will have a much better story to tell this week in order to swell the gate for the Ipswich meeting next Friday.

Future Of Scunthorpe Scorpions
EC Rides Again replied to lucifer sam's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oh dear, this press release has been coming for a few weeks. After the plea at the end of last season from Rob for more fans through the gate I had a bad feeling that 2015 could be the last year for speedway in Scunthorpe. Whenever I've been this season the crowd has looked sparse, and I'm at a loss to offer any hope that numbers will increase. Scunthorpe is not a big population centre and there is no fanbase just waiting to be tempted back. The sport is withering on the vine. Costs for riders are too high and £15 to attend a PL meeting is beyond what most floating punters will spend. This just leaves the hard core fans and bluntly they are a dying breed (literally, as the all-too-frequent announcements of the passing away of loyal fans will testify). The only hope I can see is for the Scorpions to follow Eastbourne's example and go National League and run on Sundays. Needless to say I wish Rob and the gang at Scunthorpe every success. -

Reminded me of the winter racing on Mablethorpe beach ! The TV coverage looked to be very good. -
I was baffled by that one as well. However, it didn't make any difference to the result as Scunthorpe got a 5-1 in that heat any way ! Rob Godfrey was cheesed off about it. He had a moan from the centre green tonight. Although he congratulated Glasgow on the win he was obviously less than impressed by their "win at all costs" attitude.

Belle Vue V Wolves 17.6.15
EC Rides Again replied to Aces51's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Peter Adams on Radio WM to say track didn't dry as expected after rain stopped around 4pm, leaving "an inch of slop" that couldn't be removed without making things worse. -

The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock
EC Rides Again replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Richard Hall got a ban for putting the boot into Josh Auty last season. I think Greg has got away lightly. -
Chorley FM for me.

Poor Nike well out of it. Howarth's done very well. A run-off with Kurtz for the last qualification place. C'mon Kyle ! Even with a total lack of Czech I can tell that Brady got a "perfect start". Hard lines for Kyle, well done to Brady.

Any updates from Pardubice? How will the LUNNAtic ride?

I can understand the riders concerns. The high line was very deep and it took a lot of control from anyone willing to blast around the outside to hang on. This is where both Josh and Alex came a cropper. New silencers do not help in these circumstances, I fear. However, you have to hand it to the riders for such a superb display of racing. They deserve the credit. The Scunthorpe track lends itself to great racing because of its shape. However, it is at it's best when the inside and outside lines are on a par with each other. On Friday the inside and outside racing surfaces were too different and this would catch out the unlucky Josh and Alex.

Tampere Gp

Caught the last few heats. When did the GP get called off ? Excellent idea to show some MDL action on tape instead. Congratulations to everyone at BSI. -
I think that he was just filling in as Rob was under the weather. Certainly agreed with the fans around me that his comments about Matt being "out of his depth" were totally out of order. Triffic match with great racing from both teams up to Josh and Alex throwing themselves at the track and handing the meeting to the Rockets. Hope both of them get well soon - nasty crashes for the pair of them.
