Premier league fours at Peterborougn 1999. Travelled up in a minibus with a leak in the roof, was a nightmare. Didnt get rained off until we got there either.

Its a fair enough shout , however I was just stating on my post that both Emil and Doyle had already been beaten by Basso on the night and Pedersen popping out the gate and beating them was possible. have to look at the team moral taking effect when losing their number 1 in the first race... same as when a team has a top player red carded in footy... heads go down instantly. Id be slightly worried about Iversens form too - i rate him as one of my favourite riders of all time due to his Newport connections but think he may have had one knock too many.
-
Laughable? Doyle and Emil had both been beaten by Basso who is a 6 point rookie. Id say its more laughable to suggest Pedersen couldnt of popped out of the gate to beat one or both of those, considering how well hes done in Poland so far this season.

Two points down going into heat 15 after losing their number 1 on the opening two bends has cost Peterborough without a doubt.

Colette really proving she is as thick as a plank again. its purple ffs.

Who is behind this project then? I just seen Steve Lawson has been appointed co promoter but i thought he was the man who got this whole club back going again?

Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...

Brum wont have that tho. i wonder if KK was claiming disability allowances when he was posting those scores for BV? -

You've just never liked KK, he has had quite a few top seasons in the UK with Poole and Coventry. Also wasnt he an 8 plus rider with Arena and BV ? -
Good to see Pedersen back in the UK, he definitely isn't the rider he was but I would be stunned if he doesn't average at least 8.5! Pedersen and NKI around Peterborough should score a hatful of points, away from home too as long as they stay fit. Doesn't look half as bad a team as some think!

I meant its pathetic as in how long the threads been going, the size of it and how theres still an uncertainty over who owns what and who has the final say and who is going to have the final say come start of season. More of a dig at the situation rather than the thread, sorry i worded it wrong. IF Tomalin is wanting to buy the club, even if his offers below what Chapman demands, surely Chapman should just cut his losses and sell up? As stated, what does he actually own? In a seasons time if Pboro are thrown out of the stadium, he will end up with sweet F All barring selling a few old tractors, an airfence and assets. if someone is willing to take it off his hands and pledge money into the long term future of the club in a new stadium and Buster wont sell as it doesnt match his price then you can understand the Pboro fans being peeved with him. Just a sorry mess that needs sorting. that said, after Holders behaviour at Lynn a few years ago, you can half understand Chapman not wanting him anywhere near. Nicki P would still score more points in the league than Holder. But those pair, along with NKI, are very injury prone these days

Have you read any of it?

This could possibly be a more farcical thread than the Coventry/Pboro thread about 10 years ago when they were going to boycott the league. Pathetic.

Ronni Pedersen was no angel himself in all honesty !

Newport's Northern tours were always Glasgow thursday, Edinburgh friday and Berwick saturday. Glasgow used to switch from Sunday afternoon to Thursday evening to accommodate us so yes its fair to say with a bit of common sense fixtures could of been rejigged.

Fully agree. Each and every off season, fans hope things behind the scenes have a huge shake up and things are promised yet nothing ever improves, only gets worse. Its alarming how bad the sport has became in the UK now whilst other motorsports seem to be thriving.

Birmingham just never seem to be able to make it work, how many different promotions have tried and failed there? For such a large city, you'd think crowds would be higher. Looking at the team building for this season, its hard to see that changing in 2023 either. Looks like they've splashed the cash on their number one and don't seem bothered about the rest.

Lawson has been a fantastic rider in the championship for many years now. Don't get all this talk about number ones, an out and out number one is a rider who leads from the front and wins the big heats and Lawson is one of those.
-
Just as a matter of interest, why are Glasgow fans so against Harris? What was his average at Glasgow compared to what he averaged with other clubs before and after?

Bickley is another one of those who as a junior was hyped up and mounted on top machinery against other riders who were on second hand bikes of a poorer standard. All well and good in the third tier but when you move up to the second and first tiers, most riders machinery is of a good standard and simply having elite equipment isn't enough. Absolutely nothing against the lad but hyping these riders up is foolish - he is arguably the same level now as he was when he first joined the Championship a few years ago. Drew Kemp is another one.

Another thread where the Poole fans can't help turning it into their own thread. Scheiln to Berwick does seem a weird signing if true though. Not really his kind of track is it?
-
Disagree when it comes to league racing. NKI had a few years as the top rider in the Polish league. Never won a world title granted but prime league NKI is as good as any of those riders have been ij league racing .

An absolute farce how we are in the final week of October, in fact the final two days of October, and there are various meetings that are still to take place. To be honest, each year since Newport folded my interest has faded more and more but have still had a quick browse on here a few times a week and find it baffling how so many clubs had empty race nights during the hottest and driest UK summer for some time yet there is a big scramble to try and complete meetings now. Another huge subject to discuss and attempt to sort out at the AGM this winter.
