Well what clubs have brought on a rider to be world class from the start then out of todays crop of clubs then? Wolves with Lindgren is one, who else?

Think Middleditchs time as a good TM are gone now but there is no doubt he brought on some of those riders mentioned. darcy ward turned up as a young, raw talent whod just topped the league averages in the tier below but grew as a rider under Middleditch and was world class before long. Janowski also made marked improvements under Middleditch at Poole. i think Poole can claim a lot of responsibility for bringing on chris Holder as well... i believe they spotted him and brought him over as an asset and loaned him free of charge to the IOW until he was ready for EL action. He was then brought in as a second string and the rest is history. no doubt Ford and Middleditch have been the most successful promoter/manager combo in the last 20 years or so but have to feel there time could be up, a lot of there success was based on bringing in riders who would add huge chunks to their figures and that doesnt seem to happen anymore.... either the assessed riders averages arent as low anymore or the talent just doesnt want to come, or both.

Nilsson for Harris would definately bolster the team, Harris normally gets going by now but simply isnt doing it. Nicholls has actually been top drawer this season and KK decent-ish , the rest probably wouldnt be a loss if they were dropped .

Thomsen could be a good shout in fairness and would be on a low average.

Klindt for nielsen, gomolski for spanner and ljung/smolinski for josh g??

From start of season until now. Stop nit picking. correct me if im wrong but Sarjeant was signed on a 3 with huge expectations of becoming a 5 point rider, which will never happen again. Would get shot and give his place to a brit who doesnt touch the tapes or jump the start most weeks. Also heard he is a nightmare in the pits with his constant moaning

Nielsen for Shanes was a no brainer, you only have to look at his scores before he got injured. Clearly Ford is/was waiting for the new averages to take effect before bringing in new riders. Its hard to see a top star being brought in, and with riders like Sundstrom so up and down its hard to see who would actually get the chop in the main body of the team.

Why would I want to? I live full time in the lovely country of Australia , why on earth would I travel to Swindon or Poole to meet such a pair of emptyheads ?! Lindgren has always dished it out but cant take it back. in my opinion its the world title at stake, by all means dish it out but when its returned dont take it like a baby. I remember lindgren being extremely vocal about Nicki P, a rider with ten times more ability than him, not so long ago.

Its nothing to do with how long he has worked in the UK for or whether he has a child there. its off track behavior which is preventing his UK visa.... not quite the innocent victim in the whole situation like some are making out.

The thing is, even the so called top riders i.e Kildemand seem to come in and take the piss. The whole of British Speedway is an absolute shambles. Neither league are as strong as they used to be. Can you imagine a prime Jason Crump or Rickardsson in this so called top flight now? Theyd only lose a race all season when they raced each other!!! As much as I like Jason Doyle, top bloke and rider and brilliant to watch... can you imagine him topping the EL averages and winning the world title when the likes of Rickardsson, Adams, Crump, prime Pedersen etc were about? the fact that many teams heatleaders are also heatleaders in the second division underlines what a mess the sport is in. nobody wants to invest money into it and why should they? grotty stadiums, a sport stuck in the past with its presentation.... its no wonder the top riders here leave their top gear in Poland and Sweden. They can turn up in the UK on second rate machinery and still earn a wage whilst making a mint on the continent riding their best gear. Im a carpenter and if I had two jobs, one paid $100 an hour the other $50 and I had to have a set of tools for each job, id have my top tools on the $100 job and cheaper tools on the $50 an hour job. Until money that matches Poland and Sweden appears in the UK somehow then the sport will get worse. Doesnt help how the promoters and leaders of the sport are an absolute shower of sh1te either.
