  1. No surprise it’s off at Leicester on Sunday. At least they didn’t wait until start time this week. Over to you now Buster!
  2. That being the case let’s hope they have the decency to call it off well before start time this week.
  3. Denis Zielinski Tate Zischke Cristian Zubillaga
  4. With regard to Tai’s comments. He sure is a great rider but one with an extremely limited range of vocabulary which probably explains his difficulty in communicating without expletives.
  5. Based on the weather forecast, if it is on tonight, quite understandably the track may not be up to its best so will be interesting to hear what our play off saviour has to say about that!

  7. Well done to the Witches but it’s not over yet! All Sheffield riders will be on their game for the second leg on a track where speed will be of the essence. Emil and Doyle were excellent with lots of good back up. Pickering and Edwards rode very well for the Tigers and I was surprised Holder was given a fourth ride. Lambert rode to his ‘average’ so there should be no complaints about his contribution. Should be a good night at Owlerton.
  8. That could well be the case. I also wonder if strong representations have been made /are being made to try and get Becker in?
  9. I didn’t expect Janowski to be honest. Some new faces then?
  10. That appears to be exactly the same preview as they issued yesterday. I wonder if they will make any comment about current track conditions/preparation etc.
  11. Yes that’s correct - I remember it well!
  12. The answers to your question are:- 1) Not really unless you appreciate a touch of irony of course! 2) You would have thought so but I have no idea.
  13. Was it by any chance thought up by someone connected to a team who may well not now reach the playoffs because of Leicester benefiting from it at Wolverhampton last night?
  14. Looked very good tonight at Oxford for paid 7 from 4 rides. Maybe needs to work on the post race wheelies though!
  15. The Lions were well up for it tonight as they regularly hit the first turn in front. Wolves had another one of those home meetings where they struggled somewhat. I’m not a big fan of the super heat but if it is to stay I hope we can get rid of the extra point on offer as I feel there should never be more than 3 points earned between the teams for the second leg of a league match.
  16. As a rule of thumb if there is some concern over the weather and Rory is due to ride I’ll not bother to leave home. It’s a stance that has saved me a lot of time, effort and money over the years.
  17. Yes but the point is, albeit very unlikely, Wolves could still top the table and if they did may choose to ride their home leg that very evening so presumably BV would have to pick another evening if that was the case unless you believe the second placed club could choose before the first placed club.
  18. Time will tell if young Ashton becomes as talented in his teenage years as the likes of Lee, Collins, Morton, Carter, Havelock, Loram, Screen and more recently Woffinden, Bewley and Lambert. Hopefully he will be guided well and steered away from distractions that have befallen some other young riders over the years.
  19. I think it probably is as it is on the Fixture list on the Speedway GB website. As you rightly say though in theory Wolves could still finish top!
  20. Agreed Lambert was certainly very good at the age of 15/16 although some way short of what Michael Lee was achieving at such a young age. As you rightly say some riders look very impressive at 15/16 but fail to progress as might have been expected. Others like Jason Doyle of course rise to the top once their teenage years have passed.
  21. Michael Lee was certainly the best 16 year old I have ever seen.
  22. I think the way Rob Lyon masterminded the Panthers averages towards to end of 2021 was hugely impressive as there was not much margin for error to get Bjarne to reserve and to keep Ulrich in the top two so as the maximise R/R opportunities. A very useful poor night at home v Sheffield in September followed by really timely retirements for Harris and Andersen (both when leading) in the next home match v King’s Lynn worked to perfection to set everything up for the play offs and we all know how they ended!
  23. I feel that whoever finishes top would want to avoid picking a combination of Redcar and Scunthorpe as these are two teams they could easily lose to away thus restricting them to two homes wins and two bonus points i.e. six points in total. The additional problem is both Redcar and Scunthorpe are capable of taking five points off each other so one of them could easily end up on seven points and win the group. I feel a much safer option will be to pick Scunthorpe & Birmingham/Edinburgh/Plymouth.
