  1. A result that was expected really. Belle Vue are a two man team away from home and when one of those have an off night, this result happens. Lidsey, Blodorn, Cook and the reserves are poor travellers
  2. FFS stop embarrassing yourself! You come across as having all the intellect of a retarded Hamster. Just stop, please.
  3. “King’s Lynn boss Rob Lyon said: “I was very pleased to see the result and performance last Monday. It was a convincing win with everyone scoring well, and that’s what this team is built to do at home. “I’m confident we are more than capable of getting a result at Ipswich on the back of that performance” Well he isn’t at all confident of getting a result there is he let’s be honest. I get that it’s all PR and you can’t exactly go out and say you’re going to get beaten, but supporters ain’t daft so don’t treat them like it. Just say it’s gonna be really tough but you’ll give it your best shot and see what happens. That isn’t being negative, it’s realism and honesty.
  4. It’s always been the case. Never been a fan of bowing to the lowest common denominator and dumbing down the product just so there won’t be strugglers at the bottom. Poole always dominated in the top league and always had the best riders for years. We had the Kings Lynn fan the other day saying they battered everyone in the second tier every single week so it happens in a lower quality league as well. Some would rather drive out the likes of Sayfutdinov and Kurtz so the teams are more equal but that is bonkers. Imagine Poland saying the top boys aren’t riding there anymore because there’s a few struggling teams at the bottom. No he isn’t completely right. The teams at the top will still hammer those near the bottom because if it’s six man teams, they’ll still have the best six riders! If it’s 5 man teams, they’ll have the best 5 riders. It won’t make a jot of difference. You’re always going to have successful teams, and non successful teams. Unlike other sports we do have a points limit in place to try and keep things as even as possible, is there anything remotely similar in other sports that want to be taken seriously? We do have an issue with the top league at present and there seem to be reasons for that. Birmingham weren’t even sure to be running this year because of financial issues, so they’re obviously not at all equipped to be in the top tier. The race night issue was clearly a problem for them as well so that was a factor. Oxford might be struggling because they’ve spread themselves a bit thin running in three leagues. That’s their prerogative of course and they chose to do that. The other 5 teams are all competitive.
  5. They certainly need a boost from somewhere. Issue as always is cash. Nothing left over here worth going for, so anyone coming over will be expensive and as we know, finance is tight at Birmingham. Horrible situation.
  6. Understand your point, but I’d have taken the risk on this occasion.
  7. Have to agree that’s a strange decision from Kings Lynn. Rew looked poor there last week on BSN. R/R is not normally a preferred route to take for clubs but on this occasion with Kvech and Klindt at reserve, it would have strengthened them up here. Strange decision.
  8. 😬 apologies Badge! I’m sure you do indeed make a lovely cuppa. Was just a tongue in cheek comments against the Ipswich naysayers.
  9. If he doesn’t and has another stinker then questions simply have to be asked about his commitment here.
  10. The tea lady will be next in the firing line. Makes the worst cuppa in the entire league. Like dishwater apparently!
  11. it will indeed. Hopefully he has another good meeting and his confidence improves further. Looking forward to this one. I did say the other day I fancied Oxford for a narrow victory, but having looked at the line ups again, I think Brennan for Cook is a very handy swap and I’ll swing it the other way, narrow home win for me.
  12. What on earth is going on here this year? There seems to be a free for all against Ipswich and it’s mind boggling. I’ve been on this forum for years and always found the Ipswich contingent on here to be the most easy going and inoffensive group of fans on the entire forum which makes it all the more baffling. One or two are finally starting to snap and don’t blame them. I’m surprised most have kept it dignified for so long! You’ve had posters like therefused and Teromaafan claiming the Ipswich fans have said they’ve won the title already when none of them have said any such thing, in fact they’ve very much guarded against that and played down their chances!! Daniel Smith claiming pure arrogance from Ipswich last year without a shred of evidence to back it up, none of them came across as “arrogant” whatsoever, and the least said about the Belle Vue contingent the better. You’re all coming across as immature children who are pis sed off because your teams are crap and Ipswich have clearly built the best team this year by a country mile. Grow up the lot of you.
  13. Disagree. The better meetings will be the “strugglers” at home to the top three. The hammerings will come from the top three at home, but the fans of the struggling teams will see the better meetings. The meetings that Ipswich have ridden away have been decent contests.
  14. I think Oxford might nick this one for some reason. A lot will depend on Tungate building on his showing at Sheffield. You just can’t get away with your number 1 scoring two or three points so they’ll need him firing here, same with Janowski. Riss knows his way around here too so could be a good close meeting.
  15. 14+1 paid maximum for Dan Thompson in the Championship last night. Ipswich and Chris Louis deserve huge credit for turning this young man’s career around. Dumped by his parent club a couple of seasons ago (a decision they now must hugely regret), his improved form was almost instant under the guidance of Louis and he’s not looked back since. Any young rider trying to make their way up the Speedway ladder should take heed of that when choosing their club to ride for.
  16. Much better from Tungate. Hopefully for Oxford’s sake he’s over his mechanical issues. If Tungate can get back to last years form then Oxford will be competitive.
  17. Where on earth is the moderation on this forum? How is it if you say a naughty word you’re immediately banned for the foreseeable, and yet Troll’s who infest threads with the sole aim of getting under the skin of one fan base for reasons only he knows, can just carry on without any retribution whatsoever? You’d like to think his fellow Belle Vue fans would be embarrassed by his behaviour and call out his bullsh!T but no, in fact they back their man with laughing emojis and actually join in the trolling themselves! Yes, talking about you Mike!!
  18. It seems to really bother you that Ipswich get bigger gates than Belle Vue despite your all singing all dancing super duper track! What are you arguing against here? You’re having a sly dig at Ipswich fans for saying people follow a winning team?? Of course they bloody well do are you stupid?
  19. Is this a typo and you meant to put 30 points? I can’t see any conceivable way Birmingham restrict this Ipswich team to a maximum 10 point win around Foxhall whether Birmingham are at Full strength or not.
  20. I’m not sure it makes a big difference. I like Hume the boy is a trier, but he’s probably the weakest number 6 in the league and would score next to nothing on the road. You’re obviously getting the trade off at the other end with Kerr or Sedgmen replacing Woffinden, but you’re also getting Rowe back down at reserve which strengthens that area considerably. The original line up looked unbalanced to me and not many Sheffield supporters were full of optimism judging by the predictions thread. This looks a much better balanced team to me
  21. Bet they make a better fist of it than Belle Vue.
  22. The team that finishes top should be champions. The top four at the end of the season should then contest a semi and then final for the knockout cup so there’s still the target of a top four place to aim for. That would also eliminate the farce of one club getting a bye and riding less cup fixtures than everyone else.
  23. It’s definitely worth finishing top as you’re all but guaranteed a bye to the final facing either Lynn or Leicester over two legs with all due respect. Unless of course “commercial reasons” comes in to play again. Without injuries Ipswich will be finishing top that’s a given so it’s most likely Sheffield and Belle Vue battling it out in the other semi.
  24. Just shows the ridiculous strength Ipswich have got. They have a reserve coming from the back and passing a 2nd/3rd heatleader on his own track. They may have conceded a 5-1 in 13 (conveniently?) but you have to be a fair few points up on them to beat them by that stage because they look strong in 14 as well as the obvious in 13 and 15. Brennan in 14 with Jenkins (or Dan Thompson if they want to make a switch) means they’ll be big favourites for heat advantages in the final three heats.
