  1. With respect to the youngsters that night, it’s night and day compared to what he’ll meet on Thursdays. Worlds apart. Rushen was beaten that night by Trigger, Loftus, and twice by Mulford who he didn’t look close to competing with. Let’s not forget Mulford has a Championship average over two points LESS than Ipswich #7 and rising star, Edwards, let alone a Swedish U21 Champion. That’s the scale of what he’ll be up against. I’m not saying he won’t get in amongst them as he’s clearly a talented boy, but he shouldn’t be expected to beat either at this moment but as I say, that doesn’t mean he won’t. He’ll have better opportunities on the horizon against weaker reserve pairings but he’ll be up against IMO the strongest reserve pairing in the league currently. Having said that, he’d do well to stay completely clear of Bangs while he’s getting to grips with Foxhall! Could be a very interesting spectacle watching his early heats on Thursday which is the main reason I’m taking the trip across to give him a look.
  2. We all know exactly who that is 🙄 Hint: The same promotion who couldn’t even be @rsed to have a press and practice session this year, instead will do the “team photo” at the first meeting. Unfortunately some promotions are a cancer to the sport in this country. They’re old, stuck in their ways, have no fresh ideas, and want to just get by every year by doing the absolute bare minimum. Until they’ve all retired or buggered off, nothing will change and neither will they let it. The ideas you’ve suggested Phil wanted to implement sound exactly like the ideas Mayfield have for the sport not just at Ipswich, but for British Speedway in general. But they’ll also find out soon enough that any ideas they have will fall on deaf ears and they’ll get absolutely nowhere with them. Would anyone be at all surprised if Mayfield went exactly the same way as Chris Louis in 12 months time? I wouldn’t.
  3. “ Lawson admits he didn’t have to think too hard about joining the Witches when new co-promoters Richard Coleman and Andrew Chisholm approached him. He said: “They have some great ideas, and I think Ipswich is in a good place. It’s good to be part of that. “The new owners got in touch pretty much straight away when things were gathering momentum. Straight away, I said I was very interested – let’s get the deal done. Within no time, we thrashed it out over a cup of coffee. “I am excited for the club in general. The new promotion is stepping things up in a really positive way. The fans will see some really good things come of it.” The new owners do seem to have made a good early impression on various people. Interested to see what good things the fans will see, and what they have planned.
  4. Have sneaky feeling Musielak is going to sparkle this year. Ipswich a similar kind of set up as Sheffield and the last time he was at such a club he was a 9 pointer.
  5. Ipswich should be dominating the reserve area. Edwards should have the beating of both Lynn reserves let alone Bangs. It MAY be the best time to face them while Bangs gets to grips with a notoriously tricky Foxhall but with his pedigree, he should still be coming out on top. The more I look at Ipswich’ team the more I think they’ll go unbeaten at home. They’ve collected a group of Foxhall specialists and you can’t see any of the top five having a really duff meeting there. 50-40.
  6. Still stings, clearly 🙄 And we’ve STILL to see the resurrection of @AceBelle 😲😂
  7. I’d say Coleman has already pi$$ed them off and been ostracised. Three clubs held their press and practice Thursday..
  8. And they were correct. At the time of your whinging that no promoting was going on, no deal was struck! So you were whinging for the sake of it. You’re like an old bloody woman with your constant bleating! Ok, now a deal has been done questions can be asked, but if you take the time to read the press release in the Speedway Star, it’s quite obviously a huge rush job to get everything up and running in time for tapes up. There’s an awful lot to do, and very little time to do it but things ARE going on in the background. You were exactly the same on the Ipswich stuff. Demanding updates and answers on a regular basis, until Richard Coleman explained fully why those updates weren’t forthcoming much to his own frustrations. I bet you were one of those kids that hunted around the house for Christmas presents because you couldn’t wait until the big day to see what you’d actually got 🙄 Calm down ffs.
  9. I bet there would have been. Ipswich get that for run of the mill League meetings with nothing at stake. It’s a shame every club isn’t as well supported, the sport wouldn’t be in half the mess it currently is in this Country. Your GP Star was certainly wowed by the occasion! Scenes he’s never experienced at the wonderful NSS 😉 Every supporter of every club thinks it’s worth winning, until they have no chance of the play offs or get knocked out of them. Then it’s suddenly all worthless and not worth winning. We all know the drill. Even this years shambles is worth winning. The winners will have a title win etched on to their honours list. It won’t have an asterisk accompanying it.
  10. They’re the Bastions of UK Speedway I’ll have you know! Every move they make is to the benefit of helping others whether that be other clubs, or riders themselves to the detriment of their own aspirations. They wouldn’t even dream of dumping a young British rider (Mountain) for a crap Aussie in the hope of gaining any sort of on track advantage. Nope, not the wonderful Belle Vue Aces! They leave all that shenanigans to the other desperate cretins like Ipswich and Chris Louis who have a win at all costs attitude, apparently.

  12. Why should they when all three can still comfortably outperform Jordan Jenkins? What a weird thing to say.
  13. Was he? “I spoke briefly with their new promotion, but it seems a change in the rules has put a stop to me having a low enough average for them to fit me in” This weeks Speedway Star. Doesn’t sound to me like they’ve promised him anything? And that’s also only his version of events. There’s always two sides to a story.
  14. They’ve literally just completed a takeover 48 hours ago ffs! Pretty sure graphic design wouldn’t have been on a list of priorities 🙄
  15. So do they have a new presenter currently or not? That role is hugely underrated IMO and can go a long way towards the meeting experience. The few times I went there last year, I thought the fella presenting was excellent and one of the best I’d heard. Shame if he’s given it up/been ousted.
  16. Should have got Hellstrom Bangs in the line up! Usually someone drops out before the meeting, if that happens they should get straight on the blower. Would be a great watch around the NSS
  17. Well that confirms no TV then. They’ve done pretty well here all things considered. Not enough omph to win many if any on the road, but they’ve assembled a strong Foxhall side with every member of the top five capable of scoring double figures there as they’ve all proved in the past. Will be a tough nut to crack on home shale. Could really do with getting Musielak back to his Sheffield form of a few seasons ago. That would help immensely. They’ll have the upper hand on most in the reserve department. Really like the PHB signing, the boy is box office and the kind you pay your dollars to go and see. Clubs need to be doing more of this and make more effort rather than continually taking the lazy options and recycling the same old faces. If we’re serious about expanding the top flight, then more riders are going to have to be brought over. Ok, the real top liners mostly don’t want the hassle of riding here for the money on offer, but there are plenty just below those that WOULD be interested. To be fair to Lynn, they brought over Kvech, Ipswich brought over Rew and now Bangs, there’s others out there a rung below the top boys in Poland that would be interested also.
  18. And at the risk of repeating myself, this is exactly WHY a current “top league” is only suited to 5 clubs. You’re struggling to get the fifth (Ipswich) team competitive, let alone a 6th! 7th or 8th? Absolutely no chance, forget it.
  19. If Thorssell is out of the picture, it HAS to be Jeppesen doesn’t it? Forget his up and down form for Birmingham, it was clearly a poor environment to race in with all the uncertainty and every rider there didn’t do particularly well understandably. But in his 10 meetings for Berwick he settled straight away and averaged 9.67 with bonus’ and shot straight to number 1. Leicester are built in a similar way to Ipswich and are the only ones with Kemp and Gilkes who could push the Ipswich reserves, but Jeppesen and Edwards should be dominant over all the others who look weak in that area.
  20. Good on him. He’ll soon realise though that he’ll be pi$$ing in the wind with this lot.
  21. It’s pretty common practice!! Using the link earlier by arnieg https://www.sportcal.com/pressreleases/bsi-announce-acquisition-of-reading-speedway/ There’s a paragraph from outgoing promoter Pat Bliss. It’s pretty standard stuff.
  22. Agree with you. Strange. Crikey they’re all buggering off! Is the track man still there?
  23. If ever there was a season where you’re not the least bit bothered whether your team wins the title or not, it’s this one. Time to just go and watch some racing with little expectation, and hopefully there’s something actually worth winning in 2027.
  24. Doesn’t need to be does it? You don’t need to be Nostradamus to predict where this prospective team finishes. It currently finishes bottom of the five. Everyone can see it, just like everyone could see Birmingham and Oxford would be finishing at the bottom last year. The one caveat, is nothing has been confirmed team wise and we await to see who the final rider is,,
