Birmingham v Ipswich Monday 7th April
Steve Irving replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
https://speedwayhub.com/belle-vue-aces-sign-tate-zischke-in-place-of-connor-mountain/ Ah but the pilar of the Speedway community that is Belle Vue, never do things for their own personal gain, it’s always for the benefit of others. Bless their little hearts. Young Brit, pops in 11 points at Oxford, gets axed for another Aussie. You do talk some utter sh!t. -
Does the Premiership need a salary cap?
Steve Irving replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Great idea, let’s have a salary cap that forces out your Emil’s and Holders to give the crap at the bottom more of a chance. That will really get the turnstiles clicking in huge numbers. -

As soon as it became common knowledge that Harris was in at Lynn, every man and his dog kind of knew Boughen was going to be Kings Lynn’s rising star. -

So you want it to benefit YOUR team instead by getting first dibs because you were crap the previous season? Lol The whole priority “pick” based on a completely different season’s league placings is bonkers. Why should a team get to choose the best rider first just because they were useless the previous season? It’s a different season!!! -

Kvech has been a tad disappointing though. Yes he’s done ok, but he looks like a run of the mill middle order rider when I personally thought he could be a force and become a number one quite quickly. Hasn’t quite happened but still time. -

And yet they still beat you on your own track. Despite Birmingham pulling 8 points back the result was never in doubt from the moment the tapes rose in heat one. The track was undoubtedly a “leveller” it was absolutely horrid. -

Thompson seems to be following the same career path as Tom Brennan. He’s got a few years on Brennan but he’s clearly heading in the same upward direction. Leicester must be watching his progress with massive regret. That’s one monumental bollock dropped by them. He’s also quickly moved to heatleader status in the Championship as well. Fair play to Glasgow for snapping him up, but Poole must be another kicking themselves. He seems tailor made for Poole so a missed opportunity there for them. -
Sheffield v Birmingham 3/4 Premiership R1
Steve Irving replied to Manifesto's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It’s not as daft a suggestion as it seems. No it won’t happen of course, but would it improve the entertainment if dialled in home riders started behind the visiting riders? 100% yes. -

And the one last evening at Oxford. I think this is quite common early season though to be fair. Normally improves when things settle down and you get in to the season properly. -

Think you need to calm down a bit. Enjoy a resounding win of course, but it was Birmingham at home. Is there a reason you’ve conveniently forgotten about the Emil crash that ended his and Ipswich’ season? There was a very real safety issue there last season whether you choose to deny it until you’re blue in the face or not. Your very own riders criticised the track live on TV, we all heard it. Again deny it all you like, but the dirt pile up by the fence WAS dangerous for anyone brave enough to go out there. The majority wisely chose not to. -

Really nice lad Tom isn’t he. Very level headed young man and it’s great to see him progress and do well. -

Huge caveats with those two defeats though! Littered with guests and rider replacements. They looked nothing like an Ipswich team let’s be honest. They didn’t face anything close to what they’ll be facing Monday. -

If Riss scored 10 instead of 20 Oxford get battered. He didn’t and they didn’t, just like Tungate didn’t get 5 more. Bloody daft playing what ifs because you can play that game both ways. -

The forum is a laughing stock. You can spam and troll your way through threads no problem, you can get the likes of the Poole idiot constantly bumping a four year old Poole thread in the Premiership section to the top just because he can, but call someone a wally and you’ll get immediately suspended for two weeks. I have nothing against Peterborough whatsoever and I’m sympathetic to their plight, but that thread should no longer be in the Premiership section either! A mod doing their job should be locking it, or moving it to general discussions. Otherwise what’s the point in having subsections to this forum? May as well just have one big general section and let anyone post whatever they like. -
Ipswich v Belle Vue 27th March KOC 2nd leg
Steve Irving replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He’s clearly just embarrassed and looking for excuses. If there was a bad batch of fuel, then Bewley wouldn’t have scarpered off in heat 6 with the fastest time of the night. That kinda brings his theory crashing down. They simply weren’t good enough. Follow through? Follow through with what?? -

What on earth are you waffling on about? How the fu** can you compare a complete season where two riders didn’t even start, to a team “winning” a title whilst blatantly not being the best team in the league because the best team by a distance were completely gutted by injury? I knew you’d be one of the first on here sticking up for the “champions” but they’re paper champions and everyone knows it. There isn’t a single Belle Vue fan that genuinely thinks they were deserved winners last year despite the crap they’ll come on here with. Oh and the Bewley reference makes no sense either! You do talk some crap. Bewley celebrated because he won a GP on the night, just like he’d celebrate winning a British title which also wouldn’t be the best 15 riders in the world. You’re comparing apples with oranges. -

And Belle Vue would have won last year anyway regardless of Ipswich’ injuries don’t you know! -
Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC
Steve Irving replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Meh. As I say each to their own. If you’re a win is all that matters kinda person and get just as much satisfaction taking advantage of someone else’s misfortune when you’re blatantly not the best side then crack on. Takes all sorts I suppose. -
Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC
Steve Irving replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Some have zero shame and couldn’t care less how or why they won, as long as they won. Entirely their prerogative of course. I personally would have been a little embarrassed and kept it a bit more low key but each to their own. And before anyone pipes up with “it’s not Belle Vue’s fault they can only beat what’s in front them” I totally agree. But it’s still unsatisfying it has to be. It’s like a 100m runner at the Olympics pi$$ing it with 10 metres to go and then pulling a hamstring and you go flying past to take the gold. You wouldn’t then go on a lap of honour dancing around giving it the big un would you? Except for AceBelle obviously. Take it, admit you got away with one and move on. -
Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC
Steve Irving replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You get the sense there’s already far too much expectation on the young lad’s shoulders which isn’t fair really. As good a talent and prospect as he may be, nobody should be expecting him to come in at this level and start taking decent points from riders with far more experience. I mean he may well do, but similar expectations were thrown Boughen’s way a season or two ago. I’d let him settle in at Poole for this year and see how he gets on. Then make a decision for 2026 in the top flight based on that. -
Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC
Steve Irving replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I mean, it’s possible! Doyle Emil and Brennan could all crash out of the meeting in their opening rides and Belle Vue could then jump all over it and then claim they’ve achieved the impossible with a superhuman effort! They’re very good at that. -

Everybody knows why you won it last year. You’ll need to jump on someone else’s poor luck again this time otherwise you won’t stand a cat in hells chance.
