Somerset V Swindon 21/4/17
SomersetBlue replied to Aroundtheboards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So fans clearly know better than two managers and the rest that have been granted guests for national championships in the past. Swindon are bottom of the league, I'm pretty sure Rossiter would argue if it was ineligible, he doesn't seem the type to care if he upsets anyone. -

This question was asked on Facebook and Àlun Rossiter replied to it stating Somerset are allowed a guest as it is his nations championship. If it wasn't allowed I'm pretty sure Rossiter wouldn't be backing the Rebels. -

It isn't an FIM meeting, I'm sure teams in the past have been enabled to request a facility for a rider in a National Championship. -

Rebels win by 10 as I think we have the better middle order atm. Ellis has been terrible and Kurtz has been awesome atm. If Grajczonek continues on from Friday and Saturday he can beat Morris and Allen/ Graversen is by far the better reserve pairing at home. Doyle and BWD will be a good pairing though against our weakest pairing in heat 1 with Tungate suffering and Starke not 100% fit. -

Yes he is in Poland, scored 12 in two meetings and an 8 so far (that I know of) unsure of Sweden or Denmark. Anyway it comes we are in the semis so happy with that. Would say unlucky Leicester but according to SCB having bike trouble isn't bad luck 😂. In real terms though Leicester were very unlucky but in the same respect we had our fair share of retirements in the first meeting. -
Drowned it? You sure about that the track looked as dry as anything and a hose isn't going to change that. Needed way more water than what was put down. I appreciate that midday is hard to prepare a track but as I said two hoses are not a solution so maybe a better water distribution system works be better. As for the OTA as I said it seemed like there was some new shale on top which hadn't bedded in. There was water put on with the bowser during the meeting but there was a small cold wind that just dried the track add in the fact the track changed so much over the course of the meeting as stated by the riders so I could ask you for a solution too? There was still some good racing last night.

I was saying last night as I'm sure a lot of other Rebel fans were as well, it was fantastic to have a victory against what is one of the best two teams in the league (King's Lynn the other). The best thing about it was we didn't have home track advantage as the riders said on the mic the track was so slick last night and had changed a lot from previous week. I believe more shale had been put down which hadn't bedded in (i believe, certainly looked more than previous). There was some hard and good racing from both sides last night and we showed a lot of fight that we lacked from the morning. We beat what was put in front of us and we'll it's Pooles fault if they wanted to sign a rider who would let them down again and again, I'm sure even the biased can accept that. Was great to see two great crowds with good followings from both sides in the morning and afternoon and plenty of neutrals.

Well first meeting at Poole decent meeting with a few good races, have to say though track was an absolute disgrace could hardly see the last few races and hardly any attempt to water apart from a little bit on the first bend. For Poole Morris, Kerr, Andersen and Klindt were solid. Holder started well and dropped off after two races. Shanes had a bad meeting but is capable of better. Kurtz was awesome and was by far the best rider on track. For Somerset we had Paddy Hougaard who continues to impress, Wright deserved more than paid 4 as he was in contention in his last three rides. Also Jake did ok considering a track he hasn't seen competitively. Starke didn't have the best of meetings but still got a win. Graversen looked ok for a no.7 in first two heats but then completely tailed off. Problem for the Rebels was the top two Grajczonek needs to scoring more than 6 and to me gives up when at the back and Tungate is losing way too many points because of his bikes which is annoying seeing as his bikes in Poland are working beyond fine. Will be tough later but hopefully Starke, Grajczonek, Allen and Wright will back Hougaard up more.

We have Klindt in for Starke apparently due to this being re arranged. -
So the likes of Hancock, Pedersen, Holder, Doyle, Woffinden etc, the BEST riders in the world, all have bike problems and falls that is down to them being c**P and bad planning is it? Because that is your logic if you fall it's lack of skill and if you have bike problems it's bad planning.

Hougaard has been fantastic to start the season and is good enough to trouble the top riders. Wright is in for a good season, Jake is capable of moving up to main body where Starke will be probably the best reserve in the league as he has been scoring solidly. Josh is a solid scorer and can beat third heat leaders in the league. Graversen isn't race fit yet and Tungate is having bike problems, we aren't as weak as people make out. Without the problems we have had with retirements and first half jitters against King's Lynn, we could be walking away with a point and a bigger lead against Liecester.
-
Going to both meetings, we'll get beat at Poole but whether we can bag a point? Starke and Josh obviously know the track and Wrighty and Patrick are going really well. However Rohan and Graversen are struggling while Allen hasn't seen the track competitively. If Tungate can get going I think a point is capable, if not then i doubt it. At Somerset Poole are capable of getting a point but think Somerset's middle order should be good enough while Allen will be a match for Poole's secret weapon in Klindt.

In control of the BSPA, what changes would you make to British speedway to get it back to what it once was?
-
None of that made any sense at all.

What absolute tosh, any rider can fall off even the very best riders so lack of skill my a**e. Plus yes breaking down is bad luck, Rohan has been troubled since the start and just can't get it going and Paddy Hougaard scored three wins with his retirement so do you really think that it was "bad planning". Lastly how did Allen put Bjerre out of the meeting it's not as if he meant to do it, it happens any time. Not really bad luck just a racing accident.
