  1. Tasty field lining up for the 2024 Shielfield finale, with meeting sponsorship by bulder Terry Straughan (himself a former "Starza" competitor) Each NDL member-blub has nominated two representatives: Connor Coles & Dayle Wood from Edinburgh, Oxford's Jody Scott & Senna Summers, plus Ace & Stene Pijper from Scuntfield. Freddy Hodder will represent Belle Vue alongside Matt Marson, Jake Mulford (the favourite?) is coming from Middlesbrough in company with Will Hocaniuk with Leicester's Luke Crang and Aaron Butcher completing the nominated riders. Berwick will issue four wild-card invitations to complete the field. Twenty heats to decide the winner. Admission pegged to £12 early-bird e-tickets (from https://www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets/) available until midnight on September 6th or £14 on raceday. Cash only at turnstiles. Accompanied kids under 16 free. Limited heat sponsorship is still available for £100, from https://www.club@berwickspeedway.com Large free on-site car-park
  2. Should the weather allow, two Bandits in action at Worky on Saturday. Jye guests in place of Vissing (yes, he's missing) and Drew seems to be Plymouth's go-to man at #1 instead of Covatti all weekend.
  3. They have. The influx of GP riders has increased Premiership clubs' costs alarmingly.
  4. We're not quite done for 2024 just yet! The 𝙅𝙚𝙬𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙬𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙨 season has come to an end, but we we are delighted announce we will be hosting one more meeting at Shielfield Park in 2024! On Saturday, September 7th (7pm) Berwick will play host to 16 of the country’s hottest talents in the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗡𝗗𝗟𝗥𝗖 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 - 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄! Early bird tickets will be on sale shortly for £12 and we are on the lookout for heat sponsorship priced at £100.00! Get in touch now!
  5. Hasn't stopped Bartosz from winning the odd race......
  6. Not quite. Still got the meeting on Sept 7th to come. But yes, last home match for the Jewson Banditos tonight.
  7. There is a pecking order, where seniority rules that clubs with the longest race-night tenure are more or less guaranteed their home fixtures can run unaffected. Thus, Berwick host Workington next weekend on their regular Saturday, the Comets having to move to Sunday for the return. Poole have seniority over Oxford on Wednesdays. On Fridays, Edinburgh have clear seniority, and need not move to any back-up night. Of the others, I think Scunthorpe would be next -- only yielding to the Monarchs -- while Redcar and Glasgow are fairly recent additions to Friday racing -- the Bears being forced there after losing their long-held Thursdays to the other league while Tigers chose Friday after a long run on Sundays, and a brief flirtation with Saturday. Should the Championship choose to race two-home, two away in a future season, the senior sides -- Berwick, Edinburgh and Poole -- would carry on unaffected, some of the others might lost continuity by having to hop about and have blank nights when the team are required elsewhere.
  8. Indeed he is. None of the Banduts' averages changed this month, as the team didn't race any matches during the prior qualification period.
  9. It could potentionaly have any number. For instance, Berwick have no Premiership riders in their 1-7....
  10. Comets should realise that Plymouth rocked up at Armadale this year, had to get Mason Watson to ride at #1 - - and won!
  11. Vissing will be missing. As they are already using r/r, Comets will require a guest...
  12. While dipping a toe into a Poole thread is risky, given that some of the worst of forum fannies lurk therein (no names, no pack drill) I bear news. Redcar will have Jordan Jenkins back, doing his best Connor Bailey impersonation. Also, Poole are listing their regular team (including Tom Brennan, Tobias Thomsen and Vinnie Foord) for Friday.
  13. All these free links can't be helping WB/discovery+ income stream? Unlike BSN, they don't seem to make much effort to block 'em?
  14. Weather looking good enough, dry and little wind. Worky promotion putting on the style with fairground attractions. The line-up has an interesting look about it, and to watch Dan Bewley and Jan Kvech setting about the local heroes such as Cookie will make the trip more than worthwhile.
  15. Might be better if they came on Sunday......... But yes, a vital need for funding in the sport, assisting fallen riders.
  16. The organisers are in parts Warner Brothers and the FIM. What's their history?
  17. Mike Hunter's media briefing on Sunday's event.... Young Czech Jan Kvech has made a major impression both in the Grand Prix series and his outings in the UK for King's Lynn, and the organisers of the Ben Fund Bonanza are very happy to have secured his participation in the restaging of the event at Workington on 14th July. SRBF Chairman Paul Ackroyd comments "I went to Birmingham last week to check whether Freddie Lindgren was still available for the restaging, but unfortunately he can't do it. However Jan Kvech quickly offered to take up the position! I've seen his early meetings in the UK at King's Lynn and Birmingham and also last weekend's Grand Prix where he did well. I've been impressed each time. He's a lovely lad to talk to also." There's more good news because two further top class performers have joined the field, namely Charles Wright and Adam Ellis, both former British Champions (bringing the number of ex-British Champions to four!) We thank Charles and Adam for coming in at short notice. Craig Cook and Danny King of course are also former double Bonanza winners, with Ben Barker also a Bonanza Champion. Ackroyd commented "We are very happy with the field we have, including two flamboyant members of Team USA as well, I'm sure there will be plenty of eyes on them." A sad reminder of the importance of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund arrived on Monday night with the injuries sustained by Tate Zische at Belle Vue. The young Aussie has taken the UK by storm this year and had also agreed to ride in the Bonanza prior to his accident. Everyone associated with the SRBF sends him every good wish for a speedy recovery.
  18. Slater Lightcap is in UK, will be at SoN meetings for USAand hopes to get a call for Benfund next Sunday....
  19. When will Tigers reach the 75% point, after which they can't make changes?
