  1. BSPA confirmed Berwick's new 1-7 a few minutes ago. Riding order at Ipswich: 1. Nick Morris, 2. Jye Etheridge, 3. Kevin Doolan, 4. Liam Carr, 5. Lewis Bridger, 6. Dany Gappmaier, 7. Lee Payne.
  2. BSPA confirmed Berwick's new 1-7 a few minutes ago. Riding order at Ipswich: 1. Nick Morris, 2. Jye Etheridge, 3. Kevin Doolan, 4. Liam Carr, 5. Lewis Bridger, 6. Dany Gappmaier, 7. Lee Payne.
  3. No, Jye was announced at Edinburgh last season as not needing a work permit. He will have patriality or somesuch.
  4. So -- three new Bandits on Thursday, if re-declaration is agreed by BSPA. Well done, the promotion for acting cleanly and quickly. Onward and upward!
  5. A very changed team of Bandits on Thursday indeed, then! Three out, three in. No messing about. C'mon the Mightys!
  6. As the rule acknowledges. As quoted above. It says NDL then says (Conference League) in brackets to clarify its point of their being the same level of competition.
  7. The rule now states "who have competed in ..... " It does not -- as written -- require a rider to be currently eligible. Interesting times......
  8. OK, let's settle a few misplaced ideas: 18.7.2 An SGB Championship Team's initial Declaration must not exceed 40.00 and must include at least 2 riders who have competed in or are eligible to enter the National Development League (Conference League), one of which must be at #7 by CMA. 18.7.3 It must not exceed 42.00 points in any re-declaration following the issue of established CMA’s for 2017, except where the MA of the introduced rider is equal to, or lower than the rider being replaced. Any re-declaration must still include 2 riders who have competed in or are eligible to enter the National Development League (Conference League) So, from that point, any Berwick redeclaration has to include two former Conference riders --- the really important question therefore being -- will Lewis Bridger's appearances for Weymouth in 2005 qualify him as the second such rider? If so, then Liam can become the No 7 with a 3 (not 2) assessed average. Like Mitch Davey or Ellis Perks for instance, he is not new to our league, and can't go below a 3. If Bridger isn't considered to be within that rule (although as it is written, no reason why he shouldn't be) then the re-declaration must still have two such riders -- presumably Liam and Ryan Blacklock. In addition, we have to remember every team has to have two British riders in all declarations, regardless of other qualifications. OK, folks -- back to your hypothetical drawing-boards!
  9. Dimitri Berge is listed by Bandits at No 2, no mention of r/r. Tom Bacon will hopefully be sizzling at No 7. Scunny have swapped their Austrian for a German neighbour, and list Mark Riss at No 6 for Wallner. Hmmmm....
  10. You don't get new averages until you do 4 at home, 4 away, do you?
  11. I don't disagree with your reading of the rules -- but they seem to contradict each other. 16.2.6.1 says one thing, 16.2.7 the other. Who knows?
  12. It should also be remembered that Dimitri's four home, four away record won't now be until mid-May at the earliest.
  13. Four home, four away before our riders' averages can be looked at. Fourth away (league) match is at Ipswich next week, fourth home is also against the Witches on Saturday week. Riders' figures then take effect seven days on -- which would be May 6th.
  14. The fans who made the trip will know Liam and Kevin were on a 5-1 ahead of Erik Riss when he overslid on the second or third lap on a greasy track and came down. In his next one there was a bike problem (maybe a result of the earlier crash) and in the third ride he hit the first turn in second place when his chain seemed to snap and he was thrown off. Nil return, but plenty of effort. "Failing to trouble the scorers" slightly harsh criticism IMO.
  15. Kyle Bickley is 15. Joe Lawlor was willing to come and ride for Berwick when others were less available. Go for it, Joe!
  16. ....and the better, available, ready and willing alternative would be......?
  17. Joe Lawlor has been announced at replacement guest for Ryan Blacklock tonight. Plus, Danny Phillips is in tomorrow and Rob Shuttleworth will be a Bandit on Sunday.
  18. Be assured he is a Bandits asset, and the loan fee accrues to Shielfield Park. Berwick club were happy to help get him fixed up, and Redcar have very nicely acknowledged the co-operation.
  19. I agree with Taffy (first time for everything, I suppose). Dance with the ones that brung ya to the ball. Let's face it, an eight-point win over the Tigs on Saturday and everything in the garden will be blooming lovely again!
  20. Both leagues have same averages and same rule-book now... Which is certainly not to the ex-Premier League's advantage in any way.
  21. I wasn't there, so I can't comment on meeting. But for those who demand instant changes, bear in mind that you have to have a better-scoring, equal-earning, lower-average rider available to step in before a knee-jerk change is instigated. Also, you must have two British riders in your team at all times. Don't panic, we're not doomed.
