  1. I didn't have a problem with the Rasmussen argument but like doubling up it got out of hand. I didn't have a problem with the Rasmussen argument but like doubling up it got out of hand.
  2. What ever the set up is, I want to see radical change not just window dressing. On an Ipswich note from July onwards I thought the season was thoroughly enjoyable and whilst I would prefer top league racing in whatever form, as long as we are competitive and challenging that's good for me.
  3. I get it now cheers, take away someone's earning power ( the tuners) and they'll make Genghis Khan look like a pacifist.
  4. So in essence tuners have become like football agents, leaches on the sport
  5. Would it be possible to have some kind of procurement system where all engines and supplies are given to all riders at the same cost direct from the supplier. Surely at NL level it could work. Then the machine examiner makes sure no one tampers with anything.
  6. Does that include promoters who spit out their dummies and call a meeting off a few hours before the start because they don't like the opposition line up😀
  7. Apologies I couldn't resist it. Looking at radical cost cutting solutions, particularly for riders. What happened to the Honda experiment at Sheffield a few years back? 8. Perhaps it was the turkeys voting for Christmas meeting 😅
  9. And there was me hoping for some sensible replies 😮
  10. Phil, surely there must be some kind of structure to the meeting.
  11. General question, is it a set agenda or are motions proposed by the various promoters, or is it a general discussion to begin with.

  13. I thought part of the plan was to bring the track up to FIM standard.
  14. Assuming all these plans go ahead, when are we getting the world cup or British final😊 and not a half baked el pairs final like 2010.
  15. What's happening with the track have I missed that bit?
  16. Well said baldy, the atmosphere has been brilliant since July and I thought the heat 3 challenge between covatti and Wright was the best I've seen all season.
  17. No complaints about the result and the best team by far won. Whatever the league set up is we must keep the momentum rolling. There has been a buzz about the place since July and we must not forget how far we have come this season.
  18. That's what I have often said. If you blood young British riders for 2 or 3 years then eventually some of them will improve.
  19. Let's all not panic. For a start we all knew tonight would be tough, secondly everyone seems to be forgetting that because of the no tactical rule it probably added 4 to 6 points to Somersets total, and thirdly it'll be the same for us next week. As I have stated before, its not necessarily what we do this year, its how we build on it next season.
  20. That's my concern, something has to change but I don't think the promoters have the guile to carry it out. Unfortunately as I see it, apart from some tinkering I wouldn't mind betting that British speedway will be exactly the same set up next year as this year, and we will still have the same problems. Oh and the obligatory claim from one team that they will fold without backing, last year it was scunny this year it looks like it will be workington.
  21. If the league structure is the same next year, as most of us probably believe the bspa don't have the savvy to change it, then we must attempt to keep as much of this team together as is possible. As you said baldy with previous riders we don't want any mad or bad eggs in the basket. I'm not sure what has clicked but all the riders seem up for it. One final point, dependent on averages I'm sure someone suggested we could bring in Danny Ayres by sacrificing just one rider. Any thoughts?
  22. I heard one or two groans about him falling off, I think some people forget he's a young lad who's been thrown in the cauldron of a do or die play off tussle, the pressure on him must have been immense and I think sometimes we all forget that.
  23. A great performance by a team seemingly on fire. We would have to completely blob it now to lose over 2 legs. Either way a poor season has turned into a great one now whatever the outcome. In addition I think the adrenaline and excitement has returned on a Thursday night and most importantly we must carry that over into next season. Well done to the massif, a great touch with the loo rolls, reminds us all of years gone by.
  24. I just wonder, not just the gaps between meetings but the general lack of them puts people off. Yes since July our frequency of meetings has been pretty good but before then it was stop/start. Obviously this is down to running costs but once again these issues are never adressed at the bspa agm.
