  1. Hopefully, and it is hopefully, Eurosport will be able to fit all 15 races in, that cannot be really very hard to do, can it?
  2. Very strange and one wonders why, when they spend so much time showing gardening at the gates etc., and replays of heats. Plenty of time to fit all 15 heats and adverts in a 1 hour programme with sensible editing. I believe most people would prefer to see the actual racing rather than gardening and preparation at the tapes. Still I am grateful that Eurosport covers this Swedish Speedway despite these shortcomings but it could easily be made much better with little effort and a bit of thought.
  3. While I am pleased Eurosport are showing Swedish Speedway I despair at missing out heats when they show repeats of races just seen and time wasted at the tapes. 45 minutes should be ample to see 12 heats
  4. I do not like anywhere near Poole (Norfolk:-)) but looking at the website Rain Today (http://www.raintoday.co.uk/) the forecast looks extremely good tonight. The rain all to the west over Kent area. At the most an odd shower. Forecast ahead-- 18.00 hours -- 9% chance of rain 19.00 hours -- 0% 20.00 hours -- 1% 21.00 hours -- 3% So if there is not too much farting about time and gardening procedures at the tapes we might get a meeting on tonight:D
  5. Swindon V. Poole (ela) - Moved To Bank Holiday Monday 30th May At 4.00 Pm Is this Sky's fault again-- everything appears to be
  6. Unfortunately last night for some weird reason they missed out heat 6, it could not have been a time factor as there was plenty of gardening and replay shots that could have been omitted instead.
  7. That is unusual a midweek afternoon meeting, I shall be recording this and watching it in the evening as I have full day tomorrow, if I avoid the usual speedway web sites such as this one there will be little danger of spoiling viewing by seeing the result on any TV newsflash Just happy that the meeting is on TV. Hope you are soon feeling better so you can get back to work.
  8. Not just you, but I thoroughly enjoyed this 1 hour slot. I hope we get the same every week, it was not rushed but we were also not bored waiting between heats. It is easy to avoid seeing the results from Sweden and just as easy the British meetings as they are not broadcast like soccer results are. Just compare this with the Lakeside meeting on Sky when I think they showed just 4 heats in the first hour. Why, when a rider falls and is disqualified, or the tapes get broken, do we get a long delay when the riders go back to the pits and remove crash helmets, as soon as the referees decision is announced they should be at the tapes ready to ride again.
  9. All this nail-biting on-off-on-off-on-off uncertainty is all part of the excitement of speedway
  10. Were Sky involved in calling this meeting off early?
  11. Strange that the KL website has no mention of the postponed meeting, the report is still there about the forthcoming match against Coventry on April 4th and the fixture/result list just have a blank beside the April 4th Coventry entry. All about the Young Stars tonight but the rest of the site looks like it has gone back to the pre-postponement. Just gets stranger and stranger.
  12. Wednesday April 13th Leicester v Swindon Elite League - League, Sky Sports 2 HD (19:30) and the next meeting is supposed to be Belle Vue v Poole a fortnight later on April 27th So only 2 televised meetings in April
  13. Does not stop KL running the meeting does it, Sky or no Sky?
  14. Of course we did not know what Sky knew or got wind of before the announcement by KL. I would be very surprised that KL went to that length to prove a point with Coventry and all the fans involved too. The fact that a stock car meeting would have ploughed the track up today may have been a factor.
  15. What is happening at KL they have pulled the plug on tomorrow's meeting ?
  16. According to the Sky website and the King's Lynn website the whole meeting has been cancelled, not just Sky's coverage, so it does not look that this is Sky's doing at all, little they can do about that Kings Lyn Stars v Coventry Bee’s – Postponed Written by starsadmin and posted on April 3, 2016 Tomorrows meeting (Monday 4th April) Kings Lynn Stars v Coventry Bee’s has been postponed. we shall have further updates regarding a rearranged date in due course. From Sky's site The Elite League fixture between King's Lynn Stars and Coventry Bees has been postponed due to the predicted weather forecast. The Stars were due to host the Bees on Monday night, live on Sky Sports, but organisers decided to call off the meeting because of expected heavy rainfall at Adrian Flux Arena. Something very odd going on here, even if Sky refused to cover the meeting it would hardly stop the meeting going ahead as planned
  17. I would think Pedersen was spitting fire after tonight, I would not have liked to have been a member of his pits team
  18. Sorry for the new thread on Lewis but I thought this great news deserved a news headline Full story http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/health/king_s_lynn_speedway_star_lewis_kerr_is_back_home_after_being_released_from_addenbrooke_s_hospital_1_4190298
  19. Looking at a number of Swedish speedway meetings on TV the crowds they look as if the venues are far better supported than a number of tracks here. I just wondered if anyone knew what they charged for admission compared to our Elite League tracks bearing in mind that any admission charge must also be compared to income and salaries in Sweden compared to Britain.
  20. Jessie Kerr has tweeted that he is now out of induced coma and breathing for himself Link http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/health/speedway_rider_lewis_kerr_is_out_of_induced_coma_following_horror_crash_1_4181284
  21. King's Lynn will be in for some great crowds just going there to see Bjerre ride, what a performer. I can see him going places
  22. I could not agree more that the Joker has to go, not just in the World Cup Final but in all speedway meetings. I have never liked it, and never will. It may tighten up the meeting but if a team gets behind then so be it, as using it just gives a false result.
  23. I recorded it at 7 pm as I was out this evening till 9 and fully expected to see a 75% meeting with heats missed out, but no, thanks Eurosport, just watched it and I was able to see every heat in what was probably the very best speedway meeting I have seen in years.
  24. All the moaning and groaning on here about Eurosport and Quest and what they pay for and what they expect should remember that the meeting was rained off, through no fault of Eurosport and they are under no obligation to show it at all. In fact if they are reading this thread they might decide when the rights come up again they pull the plug on speedway completely. We could all wait and look forward to seeing it on BBC who would no doubt show a more enhanced and better coverage than Eurosport does. Imagine if Eurosport and Quest changed their schedules and then find the damn starting gate fails or the riders decide they do not like the condition of the track with a 2-hour delay to get it to their liking or it even rains again.. I am disappointed too but will just wait patiently until Eurosport show highlights at 7.00 pm tonight, I easily avoid hearing from any other source what the result is before I watch it as I doubt it will on any other TV news programme as per usual. Having a go at Andy Jay is just silly.
