  1. The weather looks a bit iffy, the track is likely to be wet....expect his miserable form to continue...
  2. Brilliant rider to watch. Utterly fearless. 100% effort at all times.
  3. Christ, what did he do, jump into the crowd with a Kung fu kick?
  4. And if the track was built the same as Blackbird road, the racing would be better......
  5. No, it was Sidney who was guarding them. Getting paid a healthy wedge too!!
  6. Precisely. Not sure there's the need for name calling, but if anyone thinks that EL promoters are pure as the driven snow, then they have to think again! It just so happen that Ford is the best at scrutinising, then manipulating and eeking out even the tiniest of advantages from the over complicated rule book. I am sure there are others that come a close second and third!!
  7. Spoke to Tungate last night at Somerset. He reckons he's taking a break for a few weeks to get some physio on his shoulder. To be fair he didn't look fit and then had an engine seizure whilst leading that almost threw him off his machine. He definitely looked uncomfortable after that.
  8. Yes, a big helping of humble pie for me! To be fair to the Bears, they fought tooth and nail, right to the end. Bellego, Andersen, Skidmore and to a lesser extent, Robson and Nielsen, all mixed it well with the Rebels. In particular, Bellego looked excellent when in front. Very stylish and very much at home on the fast OTA. Andersen was quick from the gate and once again, another Dane looking at home on the Smerset track. The Rebels were a little unlucky with Tungate packing up whilst leading on the final bend, the force of the seizure throwing Tungate forward in a jolting movement, no doubt causing him more discomfort to his injured shoulder. Wright and Starke provided the usual excitement, both as usual regularly missing the gate. BWD, was good value for his 11 point haul, without looking particularly quick. In fact I thought on occasions his bike looked sluggish. His exclusion in heat 14, caused some howls of derision from the Somerset faithful, but on speaking with others with a better view of the incident, it appears ref Ronnie Allen was correct in his decision. Nice to be at the OTA in bright sunshine. Overall the racing was good and kept the interest of a decent crowd. Even a large group of Geese flew over to take a look, as did a rather spooky looking drone, that mysteriously hovered over the track for a full 10 minutes!
  9. Easy win for the Rebs. Even without Jake and Zach. Josh, Tungate , Wrighty and Starkey will score a hatful against what looks a poor Redcar side.
  10. Should still be close? You said that last time!! No chance of it being close. Swindon are a competitive side, but Belle Vue they aren't.
  11. Very little opportunity to pass? What at Somerset? Plenty of opportunities there, with several racing lines.
  12. I entered the stadium today and for a minute I thought I was back in the mid 70's. The crowd was huge. Boosted by a couple of hundred Poole fans, I reckon on there being 2,800 there. The track resembled Lakeside. Smooth but mega slick. Back straight bogs were as bad as ever. Mind you I thought I saw a sign on the wall that said 'gents'. Really? Shov was there, shorts on this time! Ronnie has shed loads of weight, the scaffolding which had surrounded the refs box for the past 5 years had gone. There are new houses in the pits! The Gestapo still run the car parks, but never have I seen Blunsdon so slick. Poole in the end, showed their class when it really mattered. Kurtz, Newman and to a lesser extent Buzz impressed in the engine room. The Pole using every inch of the wide open spaces on the Abbey track. Last time a rider went as wide as him was when Zagar graced the Abbey in the Adams days. For the Robins, Doyle was disappointing. He may still be sore from his recent crashes, but he went missing when it mattered. Morris was tenacious and never gave up. Nielsen and Sedge did well and Josh mixed it well. He fell asleep when leading in one race before battling back to regain second. Overall, Poole just deserved the win. No sign of the new Blunsdon though.
  13. This has got a fantastic meeting written all over it. I agree with what's been said about the Poole line up, very strong looking team. However, Swindon in form, a big partisan crowd and a fired up Robins team led by the inspiring Jason Doyle will ensure a very tight match. I will stick to my previous prediction of a draw.
  14. The only bloke from the Leicester side who could ride Blunsdon was Ulamek. And he's been released!!
  15. A huge opportunity for the promotion to inspire people to attend....eg, discounts!!
  16. Yep, agreed. He's a knowledgeable guy, not the best tactician, but very personable. there's no doubt riders want to ride for him and Poole speedway.
