  1. Oh, yes, there's that post where you attack the poster to make your point again.
  2. Definitely a 'marmite' type. He's actually a bright lad and pretty articulate, but somehow doesn't seem to engage that well with the fans. Certainly that was the way at Somerset last year.
  3. I thought this was a speedway forum not a rugby one!
  4. Well done Swindon. Lynnhave strengthened with Batchelor now in the side so a decent couple of points tonight. Batchelor attaining his average for this season though
  5. His liking for big tracks, previous decent performances at Blunsdon and more importantly his general EL form this season? I may be wrong, but I have a hunch he will do well on Monday.
  6. Buzz is good for double figures at Blinsdon, so if he's missing it will be a loss for Poole. Furthermore, Pedersen has had superb meetings at Swindon (as well as some howlers) and as Shocker says, he definitely strengthens the Pirates overall. As ever, Swindon v Poole is always difficult to predict, but I'm going for a top class meeting (if the weather stays good), a massive crowd, and a pulsating draw!
  7. He was such a vital cog in that Wolves team of 2009 Fourentee. I remember the final against Swindon at Blunsdon and him winning a vital race too, possibly heat 12? Never say die rider for sure and popular with the Wolves fans.
  8. Gavan always has a temper tantrum where either Shov or starry are concerned. Then someone will bring to his attention that there is no need for name calling etc, then Gavan says sorry for doing it and blames it usually on the stupidity of Shov or starry. Next week will see the resumption of his next episode. Good entertainment though!
  9. So Olsen would have been Coventry skipper during quite a chunk of the time you supported the Bees? Must have been pretty difficult to watch the team with him in the side then? He was a prolific scorer during his Coventry days.
  10. Sorry, you 'hated him'? You cheered when he fell off in the world final? He must have done something pretty bad to you personally then. He was fantastic for Coventry and a thorn in the side for every other British league team. And as Sid said, a brilliant team rider, especially with GG.
  11. Slightly off topic, but is there any reason why Bridger does not double down? He often complains about financial issues, so surely makes sense for him to do this? I guess his rather inflated average from last season would be the reason why. Certainly, I am sure he would score a bucket full of points in the PL.
  12. Where's cresentcol lately? I miss his pearls of wisdom!
  13. Super looking team now. I am not sure Brady was particularly enamoured with the track at the SBA, but sure as hell he will do his best to get to grips with it soonest. This signing will make for some tasty local derbies now!!
  14. Certainly on current form, he's not a bad shout, I guess his unpredictability at Blunsdon is the worry. That said, Doyley at the moment has huge boots to fill.
  15. I remember Malcolm starting off as a junior at Swindon. His greatest asset was his ability to gate! Later I learnt his biggest influence was Kilb which was no surprise as he was truly quick from the starts. I recall him signing for Milton Keynes and I used to scan speedway star to see how he had done for them. I really thought he would one day become a heat leader for Swindon in the old first division. On occasions I would visit his boozer in Abbeymeads and listen to his colourful language behind the bar!! I even saw the last time Wellie climb aboard a machine. At the final meeting at Smallmead, Malcolm was probably in his fifties, but he decided to give it a blast.... So he gave an exhibition 4 laps. I watched in amazement as he looked really quick, steaming into the bends before losing it on the third bend and coming to grief. Quite a heavy fall to be fair. He got to his feet and waved at the cheering crowd! He was eventually given "legend" status at the legends lounge at Blunsdon. The week after he was walking to the pits area when I heard him shout to someone, "hey, I am a leg end!!" Good old Wellie.
  16. Think he's ridden in a couple of matches since his poor performance at Somerset and scored double figures each time. I'd be surprised if he does that on Friday though.
  17. Robins in good form at the moment but this could be a potential banana skin. Just hope that the team remain consistent as this was my fear that they would occasionally perform poorly from time to time. As Orlovski says, Lynn have some decent riders who can certainly ride the Abbey. Mads is a case in point. Whenever he returns, he seems to go well. I know it was a few years back now, but I recall a brilliant maximum from him (although I don't recall him coming out for heat 15 in that match). NKI is always good for double figures and Batchelor will be desperate to put one over us. Looks like the weather will remain dry so you will be ok tonight Troy..... No excuses for you.... But then again.....
