Rather than use Nicholls as a guest (where he rides under the 7.50 average of the rider he was replacing), they redeclared the team with Nicholls as part of the 1-6. They've got enough scope in the averages to redeclare when Pawlicki is available.

As I said though - maybe Brum did look at riders who would be assessed at 8, but decided against, for whatever reason (cost, overall availability, etc.). Hence, by signing riders on 7.50, they've not got so close to the limit. Surely that's not too difficult to understand?

Who could they have signed? A third rider on 7.50 instead of Lampart? Robert Lambert instead of Worrall? I wouldn't replace Cook. Maybe the leeway is because two different "marquee" signings could have been 8.00 assessed, thus only 0.6 left over.

Based upon results obtained in all other professional Speedway leagues and given an Assessed MA accordingly" And ... before you ask ... there doesn't appear to be a published list of gradings. PS: I'm assuming they're classed as new riders because they don't have "current" CMAs.

His ancient average is irrelevant - a completely different rider now in terms of experience. A not bad signing compared with some of the names that had been bandied about.

They should have held a competition for locals to suggest nicknames, and then vote on a shortlist. An excellent marketing exercise. Otherwise, alongside the Cheetahs, they could have chosen another cat nickname, e.g. the Oxford Ocelots

Kemp has a 4 point average - he's benefitted from the 25% discount for moving out of the RS pool. There's pressure on him, but he seems to like the Leicester track. PS: It's definitely worth using the correct word, rather than a number when you're talking about numbers :-)

Jenkins himself has said he's only the second rider to move out the Rising Star pool, so he must be getting the 25% discount, which means he starts at 6.

4.16 ... as stated on here, Jenkins would be a decent signing. He would have to start in the team - even so, a major improvement on Hume.

Via Bungay and Halesworth is a decent journey - and I believe the Doyles live in a village on the south eastern side of Norwich, which makes that journey more likely. Even so, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of his travelling is to/from Stansted.

Same here. I was told earlier this year by BSPA Office that the discount only counted for team building, but then Brennan started at reserve for Belle Vue ...

I agree, but can't see how Hume would be left out given his popularity with the masses - he's an all round good guy, who's a guaranteed 100% trier - irrespective of his results. Nothing stops him from being liked, even his failures in the Final at Foxhall. PS: Barker wouldn't be a choice for me either.

All 7 Ipswich riders did their best, which for some of them wasn't good enough. On Tuesday night, only 6 Sheffield riders put in a shift - it could have been so much easier for them if Holder had bothered to turn up. Hey-ho. A new day tomorrow, life goes on.
