  1. I think Belle Vue might want him back. Not sure that King went missing - it's more a case of counting the times he comes good ...
  2. Oh dear Witches ... it's not easy to win without any leaders ...
  3. BSN have announced that they are covering the KOC-Up Final 1st Leg free to air on Monday night, AFTER the Discovery+/Eurosport meeting has finished 🙂
  4. Then you will see whatever stream Eurosport sends to Virgin ...
  5. That's nothing to do with speedway. From what I've read, it was a freak accident - a wheel came off a car, and before they could take any action it was struck by another car and flew into the air, and over the catch fencing. A guy was hit on his head, and a woman on the arm - fortunately they escaped without very serious injury, although obviously very shaken.
  6. Not at all clear is it! Maybe he was excluded for delaying the start ...
  7. Perhaps not. If he earns that much per meeting, then missing one if he's not feeling 100% isn't the end of the world.
  8. "Nearly two full weeks wages for most of us." ?! If you're on £6k a month, that's £72k a year - which is about twice the median annual salary, and would put you in the top 10% of earners ...
  9. Apparently "They weren’t Poole riders last night were they arfwit." 😉
  10. Do you subscribe to Eurosport? If so, they should have offered you a deal to switch to Discovery+ because it's taking over ...
  11. King's Lynn Vs Leicester is the Discovery+ fixture on 2 September. BSN was originally showing the first leg, but they've had to cancel their coverage because Discovery+ takes precedence, even though it's a rearranged fixture (fulfilling contractual obligations).
  12. The official notations are on page 122 of the SCB Regulations. "E" is definitely a starting offence. Failure to meet the 2 mins is shown as "N2" - it does not count as a ride. I believe that a starting offence is the 'ultimate' sanction, so if a rider has already been excluded, any subsequent movement results in a warning, which then carries on from that heat, e.g. a rider could be warned in their first ride, excluded in their second, warned in their third, excluded in their fourth.
  13. New Green Sheets effective 01/09 sees Thompson return to #7, with Rew in the 1-5. Really do hope they’ve got a couple of guests booked for Doyle & Sayfutdinov in both legs of the KOC-Up Final.
  14. Two out of three ain't bad Update: Two out of four ain't bad 😛
  15. I know that in the past, the advertising in the programme subsidised the printing - so there's no profit to be made.
  16. Nicholls explained clearly that the track in the first few heats needed a bit of old-style nous and skill with the bike. The Holders, as usual, weren't interested. As soon as it slackened off they were happy. Ipswich should have put water on it - I wonder if Morris had an influence on what was/wasn't done with the track ...
  17. Yes, because it's not on TV. Apparently he will also guest for the final home league match, and possibly the home KOC-Up Final leg?
  18. Four, with King unable to beat riders he should be beating at home.
  19. Unless it's dry and slick ... When J.Holder came in after Heat 1 he told them to blade it - neither of them are interested if there's a hint of difficulty.
  20. Fascinating ... the track has now dried out and the riders seem to be finding it much easier to ride - and the winning times are slower ...
  21. Foxhall has had rain-offs, and some Thursdays are limited because of Spedeworth (who Ipswich rent from) combined with the restrictions on usage of the stadium, and of course the SoN nobbled another night.
  22. Of course they are, and that's the saddest part - they react so rapidly to different surfaces, which makes them much more difficult to turn and control on the bends. The Holders will be fine now that it's drying out. Sheffield should go on to win ...
  23. Exactly. Back in the day, Foxhall track prep sometimes resembled a ploughed field, and the riders loved it.
