When the bates team took over they said they wanted to build a team to win trophies And that's what they've done.Theyve had loads of injuries to contend with and have generally got the best guests available unlike mr machin who use to go cheap and cheerful .Each season we've improved and last season won the league.Brilliant achievement. This season has been poor apart from winning the pairs. In any sport nobody wins every match no matter who they are.I think some fans need to realise that after winning the leagu your team gets broke up and you start from scratch. The promotion wanted Josh back at number one, obvious choice but he wanted to ride in Poland then we wanted Lawson and he went for more money allegedly so then we went back for Lasse and built the team with 3 heat leaders of equal quality but no top notch number 1.Im lead to believe they weren't happy with Lasse last season but put up with him for this season.Obviously they had another fall out and with no better option to replace him with Anderson.I feel as frustrated with this season as anyone as I hate losing but we've just got to accept what we've got,one set of fixtures and a weak team.Im confident next season the bates will have learned a lot more than last season and build a better team.If it's possible a reserve pairing of nicol and mountain next season might be where we start team building. So let's get the next two weeks out of the way, hope a sheffield rider wins the PLRC and move on. Moaning on here solves nothing,it is what it is.

Hope it's not Richie Worral guesting !!!!!!!

I think Kurtz will have to ride at 3 because nicol and Anderson at 3 and 4 could be very week. Broc will have to step his scoring up now we can't afford any passengers. He has the potential.

I think there were issues with Lasse last season as well so not surprised he's gone .Had Lawson signed we wouldn't have got Lasse in. I was surprised when we did a u turn and signed Lasse but I think it was needs must and he would obviously score at home so no brainer. This season has been poor apart from winning the pairs but nobody wins the league every year so let's just move on and hope we don't lose anymore home meetings.
-
Seems a strange move but he wasn't in the original line up for 2018 it was only when Lawson went to lakeside that we signed Lasse.I think there was problems last season with him.Anyway the changes have been made so we go with what we've got lets just hope Connor can score a few points from reserve.I bet Newcastle can't wait for Thursday now and mr lindgren might make a rare sheffield appearance as we will be a lot weaker and fancy getting amongst the points.

Shame it couldn't gone ahead earlier in the season with two full teams. All those dry Friday's and Saturdays that have been wasted ? Only in speedway ? -

If true that will leave us well short then tonight? Another hammering on the way then ? Last night was another poor show it feels to as though we've lost harmony in the camp.I wondered how this season would pan out without a proper number one. Kyle is a good rider but not quite a number one in my eyes. When josh was here last season and needed to win big races you could rely on him but Kyle seems a little inconsistent .kyle makes an ideal 2 ND heat leader and was awesome when paired with josh in the big heats Lasse and Charles are quite similar. I find it unbelievable as to how poor we've become in the last few weeks. The inconsistency of every rider all at once is incredible,I think it will have give our promoters plenty to think about for next seasons team.Hope we are not rained off tonight and tomorrow I think the sooner the season is over the better ,apart from winning the pairs it's been a crap stop start season.Perhaps the bspa could regionalise the leagu next season and just have 5 at home and 5 away and save some more money ?????????? -

Since winning the pairs we've been woeful let's hope tonight we can turn up as a team and win the meeting. Not overly confident but we need a win to get some pride back. -
Great meeting great result. Lots of good racing on a well prepared track.I think the best two teams met in the final.Really impressed with 20 heats in hour and 20 minutes but then semi final number one was raced 25 minutes later and final at 9.05 . ? Why ? The meeting gained momentum then we had to wait 25 minutes in cold damp conditions then another delay before the final. The majority of fans wanting to get to Cardiff so earlier the better to get checked in to hotels. The track prep after 20 heats was done straight away then none before the final.Drawn out meetings annoy most fans especially when your wet and cold.Would it not be possible to start at 6 pm finish around 8 with reasonable time to get to Cardiff.Just an observation.Anyway congratulations to Charlie and Kyle well done lads and thanks for the photos after.

Could be a decent meeting with a few new Aussies in the line up.Not seen Broc Nicols name in the line up so not sure he's invited.Shame really if he's not as it's a no pressure meeting for him to get some extra race time under his belt, yet we giving manazares some practice ?
-
Looking at the league table there is only us and Redcar with no away points which doesn't make for good reading if you want to get into the play offs.I think tomorrow is a really big meeting for us,if we can get something from the meeting it might give us a lift when we take on our remaining away fixtures.Shanes will be a big miss tomorrow as he was awesome last year for us at the show ground.

Just out of interest could we have had a guest for Lasse ? If so why would we go with r/r ? -

Good battling performance from our lads shame we couldn't have a guest for Lasse that might have made a difference. Good to see Broc top score, since he signed he's shown good quality, let's hope it continues. On to Peterborough now where it's getting to be must win time or forget the play offs. -

Depending on kyles fitness I think it could be 58-32 anything more will be a bonus.Lakeside are good home side and our away form has been poor and that's been on our favoured bigger tracks !!! Lack of meetings has been a disaster this season. We should have started the league straight away, two home two away then ran ko cup late on.We have been sacrificed for the premier league once again and they are still using loads of guests and r/r for missing riders.Their league should have been one home one away and they might have encouraged gp riders if they hadn't had the stupid one 8 point rider !!!!! -

Going to lakeside with 6 riders and fitness doubts over Kyle I think will definitely be too much for our lads unless Broc can get a big score to back up top two ? -

Expect a big home win.If howarth is fit I hope he's had a spin at Wolves last night and doesn't let us down like last time when he came back too soon. -
Some very entertaining racing last night .shanes was brilliant as was Todd Kurtz ,proctor did a good job standing in for Kyle. For Ipswich covatti was the stand out rider.when Kurtz and proctor went either side of Nichols in heat 15 I don't think Scott was expecting it,he was shaking his head as he crossed the line at the end of lap one. With 3 heats remaining I expected Ipswich to win,on paper they looked stronger.Hope the riders involved in the crashes recover quickly.Bjerre was at fault for his crash as he clipped Heaps back wheel at high speed in a crash that could been a lot worse.
