  1. Did Leicester's local/regional media (Mercury etc) give it much/any coverage?
  2. So maybe 29th-31st October for the play=off final??!!
  3. More worrying news in this week's Speedway Star about the current state of Swedish Speedway with average attendance in the Elite league down to 1068 (including the play-offs) and even worse in the Allsvenskan league. Report states that the 'expensive top riders' cannot be afforded anymore and big changes will have to be made over the winter!!
  4. Spot on. Exactly what Abi Stevens said.
  5. Aside from the superb racing - congrats to Peterborough and Bjarne in particular - what about the terrific numbers in attendance and atmosphere. This was commented on several times by riders and commentary team alike. I sincerely hope BSPL/Eurosport and any other media partners can use the 2 Final meetings to 'promote' our sport far and wide, as despite all the moaning and negativity on forums like this, there are still superbly entertaining speedway meetings at all levels and on decent tracks happening across the country every week!
  6. So Bomber confirmed as a guest for Hans - no surprise really! Interesting to read that Harris, King and Schlein are among those due in Manchester for the 'Meet the British Champions' and Team GB /Team Australia Q&A sessions before the SoN meeting on Saturday!!
  7. The debate over the Saturday fixture was started by some leicester fans at Wimborne Road last night who said they already knew Rory would not be available on Saturday due to a prior engagement!! This rumour quickly spread around the stadium and then Rory got his heat 15 injury and was seen by the medics!!
  8. Not sure about that? Rory dislikes the track and hasn't scored well there previously. If its r/r then everyone except Worrall can take a ride?! Not sure either if they'll risk Zach Cook again as he failed to score when plymouth visited!!
  9. To be honest the ads can be a welcome diversion to some of the posts!!
  10. Not much wrong with Poole's track compared to others - now it has been sorted!!
  11. There is always Jason Crump - he scored 9 points for the Gladiators at Leicester!!!
  12. This is a quote from Howarth!! Danny Ford's post match interview revealed Pirates had not agreed to Saturday's fixture!! -especially now that Rory is 'injured'!!
  13. So both teams put on a reasonable show last night with Leicester the better gating team for once - Poole demonstrating some sluggishness from a lack of racing. Both teams suffered with either breakdowns (Morris and Harris) or dubious exclusions (King), but overall a fairish 1st leg scoreline. A big shoutout to Pirates guest Zach Cook plus his 'helpers' in the pits - Chris and jack Holder and Brady Kurtz! As soon as Dickson knew of Poole's revised line-up with Rising Star Danyon Hume going to 2, he shrewdly rejigged the Lions 1-7 with Douglas in at 2, which would have worked a dream in heat one had Morris not suffered ignition problems whilst leading heat one. Unfortunately with Lions only having 5 scoring riders it just wasn't enough. As for the 2nd leg, Promoter Danny Ford's comments in the post-match press conference suggested that Poole have still not agreed to the Saturday fixture!!? Watch this space for further details of Rory's injury progress and what facility Poole will use on Saturday - assuming it goes ahead?!
  14. Not sure when Glasgow will fit their outstanding fixtures in for the play-off or the KO Cup, so if Poole do get through I expect another wait!!!! Glasgow have got the 'test match' GB v Poland next Tuesday!!!
  15. Leicester using r/r this evening so they can use their preferred guest on both Wednesday and Saturday. If they had booked say Harris for this evening then he wouldn't be able to guest on Saturday due to the 8-day rule. r/r tonight should be more than adequate with the lead the Lions have already!
  16. Poole will not run on Monday without Rory and Danny, As Danny Ford has explained - whilst aware of other club's unfortunate circumstances, Poole have agreed to host the first leg on Wednesday for the good of speedway generally despite wanting to host the 2nd leg at home!! With a KO Cup final to also fit in - as well as Bjarne Pedersen's Farewell meeting - there are only 2 more Wednesdays left (although permission has been given to run on Weds 3rd November if necessary. Danny Ford on BBC Radio Solent (96.1FM) at 18.50 this evening!!
  17. You must realise that it is very difficult - if not impossible - to engage with something so significantly small that it can only produce irrelevant carp!!
  18. In my opinion we will only be tempted back to Premiership if we are not restricted to Mondays and Thursdays!! Plus having sufficient sponsorship to cover costs!
  19. Well maybe thoise that saw last week's Chateau DIY programme, the fact that Chris Louis was with Matt Ford in the Chateau could be a clue!!? Done deal!
  20. My initial thought is that its not the k.o.c.1st leg! secondly the Poole website states its either Leicester or Scunthorpe, so as it stands at the moment I guess Wednesday's matchday programme will have a Poole v Leicester race card but with the opportunity to print off a single sheet insert for Poole v Scunny!
  21. Lets hope Hans will be knackered on Wednesday!! Poor old boy having to ride Monday, Tuesday and now Wednesday!!
  22. Danny Ford has already stated that with all the fixtures still left to complete, Poole may run one (probably Bjarne's Farewell?)in the first week of November!. Any club is allowed to ride one meeting per month outside of the usual March-October season. In years gone by thats how the New Year Classic was run and the odd indoor meeting (Brighton/Telford)!!
