  1. Actually he DID have he steel shoe on!!,the strap broke when he was doing some gardening!!! at the tapes. Kevin Doolan picked it up before the start of the heat, otherwise it could have been left on track.which could have been nasty.
  2. Nicholls superb all night passing riders. Cook followed Nicholls through for a 5-1 in one ride. B Pedersen even passed someone, even though he didnt want to do it!!! Steve Worrell superb all night Zagar lovely ride to pass BP Just shows if you are prepared to get stuck in and are in the right frame of mind ,you get your rewards, unlike some pampered so called stars of speedway who were well below their best.!!!
  3. I AGREE with you that Harris really shouldnt take guest bookings etc that stop him attending GP practice, but how is he supposed to be in 2 places at once!!! Its not his fault that the british semi final was on the same day as practice or am i missing something!!!
  4. OK You tempted me in again with AJ!!! ,think the bookie has won on almost every occasion !!! ,but here i go again!! AJ £40 MORE
  5. What are the pits like and is there good viewing for the fans to look at whats going on?
  6. I thought PK was struggling with injury leading up to the first GP but he won that!!,maybe he thinks its now in his race routine leading up to the GPs!!!
  7. Fantastic entertaining rider in the latter years at Wimbledon.Infact too entertaining one night, when he crashed, and his wife steamed into the open pits that people can se from the terraces and seemed to be saying enough is enough, and proceeded to pack his stuff away in the middle of the meeting.!!!!! When she tried to take his bike back to his van,Mark held onto it and a verbal discussion took place with a bit of armwaving thrown in.Ovcourse the fans on the terraces saw this and kinda joined in with all the antics.Eventually his wife calmed down enough and returned to watching on the terraces where she always watched, and it was all taken in good humour.Hope he tells the story better then me,it was so funny and made the evening for everyone.!!!!!! Think Mark went on to win another heat so maybe it was all good all round!!!!!
  8. Sorry Steve,i cant agree that Peterborough are to blame, from the start of the season they declared TWO race nights, and for that very reason you CANT state their is a problem because in hiring Cook there is more a question of how the rule can be interpretated and common sense can come into play so he can ride.If they ONLY raced on Fridays i can see your point.Im the first to slam double ups,and i really dont like them, but even i can see past my hate of the situation and say there isnt really a problem with cook racing in both leagues.
  9. The main stumbleing block seem to be Peterboroughs race night being the same as Belle vue,but is there anything in the rule book to say Peterborough have 2 race nights and they could say that their other race night being taken into account? Also could it work against Peterborough saying that they cant sign another rider they are interested in because he cant double up on their other race night?!!!! To me it seems the rule isnt watertight like most of the rules in speedway!!!!!!
  10. How have i missed all this?? must pay more attension during the winter months, but thanks for thar.
  11. Just wondered how Lakeside have been allowed to have a "squad system" this year?!!! Dont get me wrong i like the idea ,but clubs with large asset based riders like Poole, surely it would be in there best interests to declare a list of squad riders,or have i lost my marbles and missed something!!!!?
  12. Reminds me of that song craig david had,7 days or someting like that!!! Sure Belle Vue will do the decent thing and move back to Mondays evenings!!!
  13. Maybe its just me thats a bit of an anorak on this subject!!!! but unlike in F1,where there are graphics to help,we are left guessing what equipment the riders use like ,engines,Tyres, etc IN GPs It would be nice to know for example what Chris Harris engine choice is,and if anyone is tuning the MG engine?.Are there works riders out there with a big budget?,Is anyone sponsored with a chioce of tyre?.I know the commentaters just ramble on but you very rarely get the info you want.If someone from one of the riders teams is reading this,it would be nice to know the riders set ups(how many bikes engines etc they take to a GP.Thanks
  14. Thanks for running this comp again R/R Zagar £30 more AJ £30 more cheers
  15. You have just made the case for me,so thanks for that,so if they are going to loose as you say around £5,000,my point again is,what have they got to loose if any forward thinking promoter to get the match on.Hes chucking away that money again as you say.Its a business as you again say,so how do you again defend jc(and its not his money but sd's) for not trying to at least give it a go.Again if you are that worried about costs ,all swindon riders are in the uk,so it just leaves 3 lakeside riders to fly in.Are you telling me he is going to call off the meeting so early and is willing to loose the money you again stated.Mind blowing how fans can back a decision like this, with the facts you have just given me, Ps time 5pm still perfect speedway conditions, infact they may have to water the track if it started now!!!
  16. I understand where you are coming from, and the fact you make about blank dates in the calender, they seem to be not too bothered because the fixtures are so thin on the ground, but the cost facts are ALL Swindon riders are in the country so if JC is just worried about his riders costs he needs shooting.Again there is total lack of forsight or drive that one man has the ability to call this off.Coventry are also riding tonight, and reading posts on other forums Poole wanted this fixture cancelled, but Coventry bravely stuck to their guns so the meeting goes ahead tonight, and i dont know what weather forcasts Mr Horton is looking at but that match is still on,with similar weather forcast for them!!!
  17. Totally understandable, forecast is crap. I really do get annoyed when i read this,in this day and age this should never happen,i couldnt care less what the weather people say, theres been no rain for days here in Darford ,the ground is bone dry,and if by anychance they had track covers to work under there is NO NEED to call this match so early. Its not like Swindon fans are traveling from Scotland, its quite local, and if i was a promoter in this instance i would try 110% to get the meeting on.Pure lazy ,and cant be arsed to name a few words somes up their motivation to get this match on.Really bad as its been called off to so called weather experts ,a million miles away from any speedway match, the ref doesnt care to inspect the track, they just go with the flow,British speedway has nothing in place to stop this kind of thing happening.Looks like jon cook alone made the call.whats he got another function to get to tonight,so hes thinks he may as well pospone it.Completely stupid to call a meeting off on the evidence of bad weather happening, when they can do so much to help or invest in some kind of track cover where they can still work on the track.
  18. I love to watch them all!!!!!,but can someone guide me on the best matches to watch so far from Poland? Thanks in advance
  19. Nice to tell the riders before they make arragements to come to the uk,practice and get sorted for the Kings Lynn round on may 7th.Jonathan Iturre from Argentina did this and now he ends up going to Lonigo Italy.Talk about being messed around for his first attempt at quifications.
  20. Nice to see Edward going so well,i think thats 17 races without being beaten by an opponent!!!
  21. Ive never liked the track at leicester, but i have to say at least they are trying put right, what should have happened from the start. There were too many people with a view as to how to design a trac, one minute sam ermolenko was involved the next he wasnt. At least the racing seemed to get better as the meeting went on and justin S did come from last to second in his final ride, showing you can pass done on the white line if riders are not careful.OK it was only Ulamek whos not very good when not leading, but at least it shows you can pass either round the boards or down low on turn 3 and 4.Think Leicester fans will start to enjoy their meetings from now on,its looking good.
