  1. Just got back. Really a good meeting in front of a very good crowd. Far more there than I expected but that’s the pulling power of the Pirates, who had a good hundred plus fans on the third bend making lots of noise. The meeting was close throughout but I noticed gates 1and 3 have a big, big advantage just like the meeting I attended early this season. Poole were the better of the two teams but Oxford struck back with a couple of unlikely 5-1’s at the wrong time. Heat 13 Steve Worrall popped out again off two to brilliantly hold off Batchelor, and in heat 14 Ben Cook held of the two Oxford riders climbing all over him. Heat 15 and with Oxford off 1 and 3, Summers gated and was joined by Batchelor. They thought it all over but Danny King had other ideas. He cranked it wide open around the outside for two laps before getting Batchelor up the inside of the back straight of lap for and holding onto second by half a bike. Worrall almost got through as well. All the crowd left happy. Good meeting, big crowd, balmy weather. What’s not to like?
  2. Thinking about it, Adam didn’t get the opportunity last year with no Cardiff, so perhaps it’s not so bad a call.
  3. Better to put 16 rider names in a pot and draw out a winner.
  4. No way Adam should get the spot. Piss poor decision. Sorry Adam not deserved this time.
  5. Shame about the rain. Lovely evening in Poole. Why hold it at the wettest place in the U.K.? Yes track is the best but so much of the wet stuff. Could have been at Wimborne Road in T-shirts and drinking Pims while eating prawn sandwiches.
  6. Looking at the rain radar……..the winner is the rain.
  7. No! Seriously? WTF? They will get a crowd of 4-500. It’s the other end of the country. 40 Poole fans? 150 Leicester? 50 Glasgow? Surely would have been better to have a three leg final at the clubs that are in it.
  8. Hoping for a win in both meetings. We are capable of it. If not run them close and whop them at Wimborne Road.
  9. Disappointing final. Both missed it no drama. But we’ll done Dan and Rob. Did us proud.
  10. Tiny crowd. And this is the final. Danes don’t deserve to host and big meetings. Should have been at Poole. Would have seen a much bigger crowd. And that’s serious. Last time Poole hosted the WTC the place was heaving with temp stands.
  11. For those that didn’t bother to attend, well you missed a really good meeting in a very well prepared track. The crowd was large as well. Bigger than average which shows many fans don’t have a clue about team makeup. some superb heats of action featuring Starke and Complin, with his never say die around the boards full throttle action. Heat 14 was a real humdinger as Complin and Zack Cook passed and re passed for three laps. Rider of the night was Ben Cook who seems to have stepped up to a new level in his racing. Confidence seems to be pouring out of him and he is very quick. Thought it would be Zack Cook doing the biz but he drops to reserve with Ben back in the team for September. Next stop Oxford on Tuesday and Wednesday.
  12. Yes it is. With dartsman Scott Michell on coms. Crowd is very decent size. Track well watered.
  13. Just got in and seen the Brum team. Absolutely disgusting effort from the Brum promotion. Thing is most speedway fans will turn up clueless of the team makeup plus there’s a lot of tourists about so the attendance might not be too bad. However this has 65-25 written all over it. As a Poole fan I will be there. I don’t pick and choose my meetings.
  14. Shocking and rubbish effort from gb. Thought all they had to do was turn up. Now off 2 and 4.
  15. Rubbish gb. Get Bewley out there. Woffinden allowing Bellego around was p poor.
  16. Same. Went when TRick won against Neilsen and Boyce in 93, and when Loram won the title in 2000.
