  1. Bewley bike broke in half I thought. edit. And yes that’s what happened.
  2. This is diabolical rubbish. The thrill is to guess if the rider in blue is going to win or not. Have we seen a proper pass in anger after lap one? A couple. Perhaps.
  3. Spoke to Brum promoter who told me the deal for second ambulance was £250.
  4. Birmingham repeated. Bad for the sport when a second ambulance is £250. Poole next week. Too far to go to watch a few heats. Will Scunthorpe sort out the mess or will it be repeated?
  5. This is now ridiculous. And the girl is going to get 2 points. Unless she also falls. As bad as the Swedish meeting last night.
  6. Track is woeful. Rider has just signalled the riders are dolphining. Needs a break and bladed off.
  7. I have been to this track on two occasions for GPs and both times the racing was terrible. Tonight is no different, though there’s more dirt down and it rained. Best part of the Prague GP is the town after the event.
  8. I follow leagues in Europe. But there’s a few riders in this I am not familiar with. Watching the first 4 heats I can safely say some of these riders would not last in the Championship.
  9. There’s a girl wildcard for tonight’s meeting or all three? Really. Seriously. I don’t mean to sound or be sexist though it will come over that way. It’s like an England ladies footballer getting a place in the mens England lineup. She won’t get near a point and has take a berth from a proper competitor.
  10. Brennan might be wild card but won’t be in the running for the title. FIM should have included one Brit in the series.
  11. Just spent 15 mins looking through and yes, the Swedish round was far stronger than the other rounds. For the FIM to run this series without a single Brit is frankly a disgrace, especially when you consider one of the rounds is Cardiff. Be lucky to get a few hundred there to watch it. Why on Earth not seed one Brit? It’s not as though Brennan for example would be tailed off! Some of these guys would never be able to hold down a team berth in the Championship.
  12. No Brits in this? Surely some of our youngsters are better than many of these young riders! No point in watching it.
  13. Ben Cook was very good last night. Always forcing and made a super double pass in one heat. Drew keeps on improving. Spoke to his sister yesterday who said he feels very at home at Poole, loves the setup, Middlo and other riders and is very happy being here. Lives in Ipswich but drive doesn’t bother him at all.
  14. Had a chat with the Brum promoter in the pits last night. They got a good deal on second ambulance so that hole is covered. They need more fans through the gate though. Thought the attendance was poor to be honest. Certainly not enough fans there. Racing wise it was follow the leader for the first half. Riders tried but failed to make up ground on the rider in front. Stefan Neilsen was excellent for Brum with two from the gate wins before a great effort in his third where he blasted down the back straight passing the two Pirates before overcooking it and falling. With Brennan and to a lesser extent Sedgmen, Brum put up a fight in the first part of the meeting. But once Pirates got dialled in it was one way traffic. The track improved and Ben Cook went from 4th to 2nd to give Poole a 5-1. All three Pirates heat leaders were good as was Drew Kemp, who has shown this season what he is capable of. Should be in the top 5 next GS? And a mention to Nathan Ablitt who saw off Person with ease.
  15. By being last into the bend? That’s a new one.
  16. Coming up for this. Think Pirates should really win this and take 4 points but will take nothing for granted. Against expectation wins are commonplace in all sports.
