I am all for having anFriday qualifying round where riders in the top of the sport but not in the series can turn up to give it a go at qualifying.

Just struggle to understand why people think Saifutdinov is a world class rider? Mr average slightly better than Lindback on the world stage. He is riding to his skill factor. Anything more would be a surprise. Bland vanilla.
