Good crowd but not noisy. Something the management need to work on. Anyone who says there is no home advantage is talking rubbish. The BV boys are completely dialled in and know setups and where to go on the track. Poole couldn't live with them in first half of meeting. Bjerre just said on the mic they all know the setups. BV promotion need to expand fanbase. Product is excellent. Need younger crowd and more noise. Turning into a good meeting after heat 4.

Last two heats have been better. Heat two shanes messed up his goggle pull offs on the third bend. Good between kk and sedgmen and klindt and worral though. First 4 heats were dire entertainment. But I have to say racing has now improved with some good racing, albeit Poole riders struggling to compete. And some say there's no home track advantage? I think Belle Vue have tons of home track advantage. Don't mind being thrashed if the racing is good. Hopefullythe remainder of the meeting will produce more of the last few heats. Poole left for dead at the tapes and struggling for horsepower to retain position.

Just checked number 3. So Morris, Bellego, BWD and Grondal or Zak W can take rides.

Get well soon Adam rotten luck like Kyle Newman. Isn't he number 2 in the averages? Doyle, Morris and two others can take his rides.

Setting off to the long journey to Manchester later on this morning. Giving ourselves plenty of time for Friday traffic. After the meeting we are heading to the curry mile to sample the delights of what Manchester has to offer. Then on Saturday morning we head down to Leicester for the first league meeting of our season. Whatever the result tonight I hope the track produces some great racing for us to enjoy.

Leicester V Poole 8/4/17 Ela
Steve Shovlar replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
News to me. Thought were were full team. No Kerr tonight but he is in the team for tomorrow. -
First league match of the season after a few warm up meetings for Poole as we head for Leicester on Saturday for the start of the serious stuff. Not a good hunting ground for Poole in the past and Saturday will be just as difficult. Would like to see three points for Poole but its not going to be easy. Leicester are stronger with the late team changes and this could go down to the wire. Thoughts?

Well how the hell did we actually win that borefest? Have to say it the worst meeting at Poole for a while. Track produced nothing. Gate and go with the last six heats won off gate one. Well until Bjerres ef anyway. Its all well and good having a safe smooth track but fans pay to be entertained and tonight that track produced nothing for our team of racers, allowing the Belle Vue riders to gate and clear off. They are clearly odds on favourites now to progress and in truth deserve to. Poole were last out of the gate heat after heat and were just chasing shadows. Even Sedgmen and Fricke joined in the fun. Normally if an away rider hits the front we expect to see the Poole lads come charging through but not tonight. Belle Vue gated and just stayed there. Still going up on Friday but we needed ten points and 2 is nowhere near enough. Hoping for Matt to tear some of the riders a second rear end after that. Well done Belle Vue.

It has nothing to do with what has happened, but what is going to happen. Poland demand that riders only chose two leagues maximum from next season. We haven't yet seen a single rider with big enough balls to say no to Poland. Iversen wanted to ride here but coudn't. Next year two leagues only. Will Holder and Doyle, Batchelor, Kurtz, Fricke give up Sweden for UK? Time to act. Start bringing in the British youngsters at reserve in championship teams, and Brits at reserve in the Premer league plus one in the 1-5. No Klindts at reserve. See. Doesn't help Poole. No blinkers on.
-
Theres no hypocrisy. I don't chose the team. If rules allow Aussies then a team is not going to ignore them otherwise penalise itself to the detriment of putting out a team capable of winning the league. Remove the Aussie riders and put rules in place that the championship teams must have a minimum of 4 Brits and Premier teams three. Put in place training sessions for Brits to get as much track time as conditions/time allows. Entry for new Aussies is via Poland or Sweden. Aussies have used the British leagues as their training leagues, never making the slightest effort to get a league structure in place down under. Perhaps if such a rule was to come in, they would. Yes there are issues with distance but even a local league structure could be put in place. Brits first.
-
But if we put Brits first over Aussies in a matter of a few years some of then could have developed into top liners. We complain that there are not enough Brits coming through, so when I suggest that we should axe the Aussies who seem to want to disappear over to Poland and Sweden at the first opportunity, we train our own guys up. The opening post received many likes, showing I am not the only person who actually thinks this. Of course we could continue to bring over Aussies, let them train themselves up before vanishing. Or, why not give those berths to Brits, let them learn, and in years to come benefit the British leagues. Let the Poles bring over the young Aussies and train them up. Sure we have. But then Poland wasn't cherry picking and telling them not to ride over here, which will 100% be the case next season when riders can only chose two leagues. Start now. No more Aussie youngsters next season. Brits instead. Sure standard will drop for a year or two but so what? Brits first, second and third. Aussie youngsters can go straight to Poland.

Wolves V Leicester 3 . 4 . 2017
Steve Shovlar replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lynch showing how inept he is when it matters. Even Gimini's dog would have put Bates out in heat 14. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Leicester not a team who will make the playoffs should have won tonight. Wolves are worse than I thought. Those giving Col stick should listen he is right on the money. -
Leicester - Swindon 1.4.17
Steve Shovlar replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
From what has been see of Doyle so far this season he has come back brilliantly on every meetung he has ridden, until tonight. Really if he had scored what he was meant to Swindon could have won this.
