David Biles had a 9 average then retired. Was quite young.

That's quite the norm. I remember having a weekly gig at a club in Bournemouth. Did every Friday night and built it up from nothing, and I mean nothing, to having it packed out every Friday. The place was very popular. I had a 'mate' who used to look after the decks while I took a p break and got a drink. Then the club changed hands and closed for a month for a refit. I popped in a week before it was due to open to see how things were coming along, to be told my services were no longer required. My "mate" had been in and told the new owner he could do the same as me for beer money. (I took half the door money). So I paid the 'mate' a visit and asked him what he was up to. The bloke didn't know where to put his face. Needless to say he didn't have a clue and the night died on its feet very quickly. I got a call asking if I wanted it back and got great joy in telling the new owners where to shove it.

'I was there for that meeting and it was a cracking ride.

I hear it will cost 15 thousand + to get it done. Isn't there a speedway fan out there or sponsor with heavy machinery who could loan the club the equipment needed (at cost price), and in return receive free programe and banner advertising and a free evening at the stadium for the workers of said company? A clarion call for volunteers to help with the lugging of drainage pipes etc will always bring in extra hands. Come on get it done. It will pay big dividends further down the line.

A revved up KK had Holder from the back on his way to an imperious maximum for Coventry last season.

David Biles, Marcus Bisson, Kevin Smith, Ray Dole, Stan Bear, Martin Yeates, Dave Gibbs.

Or perhaps Doyle won't get back to where he was. It was a nasty confidence sapping crash. It took Holder a long time to recapture good form after his visit under the Coventry airfence. It was good to see Doyle going so well and hope he does recover to where he was but there's more to it than having mended bones.

I said one of, if not the best. I didn't say he was the best, though certainly he is around Poole. Kings Lynn look very good and Wolves will give a decent account of themselves, but I think it will be between Poole and Rye House for the title.

Belle Vue National Stadium

Having witnessed speedway live at the NSS on three occassionsin 2016, I really hope the club comes to tapes in 2017. It's a long way from Poole but well worth the effort of a nine hour round trip. -
Looking forward to my first ever trip to Rye House in 2017. For some reason the place has alluded me. Missed those huge Poole wins there with Boycey, Langdons back in the day. Don't think Poole have ridden there since so I will definately be making the effort in what will probably be a clash of the top two teams.
-
So back on topic its looking very good for Poole again this season in my opinion. We have one of if not the best number one, excellent back up at two, a young and improving third heat leader backed up with two riders determined to have good seasons. Add in a reserve who will score big on occassons and we look to be one of THE strongest team in the league. Eight weeks to the start of the season. Roll on March and let battle commence!

Because nearly everyone has a car and no longer needs to go by coach.

Decided to take a look and see what you had written. Fair enough Gavan.
-
A referee might disagree with you.
-
We are all judged throughout our lives. Gavan said he couldn't afford to go to speedway as it would cost him 50 quid. Fair enough. But if you haven't got 50 quid rattling around in the bottom of your pockets something isn't right, and that isn't aimed at just Gavan. Speedway is one of the cheapest sports to attend. If I discovered I was not able to go to speedway as I couldn't afford it, I would be assessing why not and doing something about it. Sure its judgemental. As is everthing in life. And starman, no I am not a better person than Gavan. I am not better than anyone. Just because I have a different outlook on things doesn't make me better.
-
About the size of a tree trunk. I lived over an hour from Poole. Doesn't stop me going. I have a family. Doesn't stop me going. Speedway is hardly expensive, is it? If someone can't afford to go to speedway every week, they are clearly in the wrong job. Time to go back to education and train for a proper job or skill. Being Arthur Daley but working for someone is no proper job.

Reading Darcys interview in the star, he doesn't hang back in slating Hemsley. States he should have gone 2 or 3 seasons ago and was walking around lording the place with sunglasses on his head whilst not paying the riders. Now I thought Hemsley still owns the place. He is obviously going to read the interview in the star. Isn't the interview going to antagonise Hemsley in such a way he throws Darcy out? From all reports Hemsley seems to be a volatile person.

And wins it. Can hear chomping on sour grapes eminating from an east of England Ford dealership as I type this. Lol!
-
Halle bloddy lujah. A statement at last. I should imagine 99.9% of all speedway fans in the UK want to see Coventry come to tapes in 2017.
-
Starman and Gavan, this is not the place to continue your pathetic petty squabbling. Please button it. Neither Coventry fans or speedway fans in general are the slightest bit interested in your continuous boring arguments at this time. Thank you.

A Summary Of Problems
Steve Shovlar replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
On top of that brexit which means our money goes less far. -
Rubbish. Its his business he can say what he likes. He could release a press release saying, "as fans of Coventry bees are well aware, there has been some very delicate negotiations taking place at this time. As we cannot openly discuss the current situation, please be aware we are doing everything in our power to bring the Bees to tapes at the start of the 2017 speedway season". There you go. Easy. The fact this hasn't happens only leads to one conclusion.
-
What gives the game away here is one simple fact. If you were Mick Horton and the local rage called you up, asking if it was true that Coventry speedway has finished, what would you do? 1. Refuse to come to the phone and not return calls. 2. Say of course we are running, where have you heard this crock of crap from, the bsf?
-
Went past the place yesterday morning and quickly took a look. Nothing going on at all.
-
Not sure what you would have thought the bspa could have done here. Clubs are like franchises. The bspa can only report what they are told. If Horton told the bspa to stick around, and there would be more info later, thats all they knew.
