Changing Of The Guard
Steve Shovlar replied to T.N.T.'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
My god we agree on something! I also think Hampel would makeWorld champion. I also think the muchkin would as well, though i rate him slightly above Hampel. The old guard is certaily changing, and about time too. Adams has gone, Crump and gollob will be going soon as well, and Hancock should have gone when Adams called it quits. New, young blood not afraid to race, but perhaps don't have the financial backing of the old boys who have stayed at the top of the game through being financially sound and who could afford the best of the best in their corner. Emil, Noddy, Darcy, Tai, this is what is needed. -
Danish Grand Prix 05/06

Pretty good gp. Thought Zorro was dreadfully unlucky not to make the semis. But a fair result in the end. Muchkin croaking after being gifted several points during the meeting. -
Just "watched" this pile of poo on Sky this morning. What joke that ref was. The most clear, obvious decision to be made and he bottles it for his countryman. It was clear to see at every angle that Gollob took Jonssons leg away. He came under Jonsson, there wasn't room, he clipped AJ's leg, down came AJ, and AJ gets excluded with the ref saying there was no contact!!!! Is he blind? I hope the FIM take immediate action and remove him immediately frommthe roster. He is incapable of making an honest decision when it comes to Polish riders. As for the meeting itself. It was utterly dire. Utterly. Concerte strip with a coating of dust. Passing was virtually impossible and gates 2 and 3 were dead mans shoes for the majority of the meeting. Either the FIM get someone in to do the tracks or Prague should be removed from the GP series. There was more passing in the F1 GP from Monaco! Only good thing to say is that Zorro is proving many on here wrong, and made the final. Somany on here wrote him off before the series started yet he has sparkled, showing British riders how it should be done. Well done to Zorro. A hollow vistory for Gollob. Should never have been anywhere near the final last night.

Horrendous crash with Swiderski and Nicki. Frightening. Jeleniewski rode into Nicki who clipped Swiderski, who flipped completely over the front of his bike. Must have broken a few bones at least. Actually sickening as his whole wrist is flapping about as he rolls along the ground. -

Holders mistke was to swap to another bike for a heat. Cost him very dearly and a likely semi final spot. he did show some great fighting potential though and will be in the mix at most GPs. Not going to get close to be challenging for the title just yet but certainly right in there. Felt sorry for Tai. Clearly way off the pace and out of his depth. One season then gone? I hope he does much better at the next GP but reckon the British GP will be his best shot at points. Zorro's race win was great. Showed he is not way off the back of the pack. 4-5 points a meeting is about what he can get with thye very occassional better score. Having fun with nothing to lose. -

I thought it was above average for a GP. Just didn't think it was spectacular as the commentators were going on. It was like they were on a mission to rave whatever the meeting was like. It was good but not as great as they were say (my opinion of course). There were a few good races. Holder battle with Crump and Emil, Kolodziej, Pedersen going backwards, Zorros win. By the way just a heads up. I thought that PL meeting at Scunthorpe last year was very good. -

Thought it was a slightly above average GP with a boring final to be honest. Didn't buy into Tatum and Pearsons ravings at all. A few good races but nothing to rave about like those two have. Brits disappointed as usual. Clear to all the Tai is currently miles out of his depth. Shouldn't really have got the WC. Harris suprised by making the semi so can't moan about that as its better than he usually does. Holder continued his Poole form by riding slow bikes. Put himself about but Emil went past him like he was standing still. -
Certainly does. And based in Poole when he comes over.

Magnus Zetterstrom In Gp Series
Steve Shovlar replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Zorro will do just fine. He won't be in a final, but he won't be tailed off stone last. Capable of beating almost anyone on his day, and won't go there just to make up the numbers. 6 points a meeting is acheivable, and on occassions more. -
Chris Holder Champion!!! Sweet win in the final to win the title by a point after Batchelor stuffed him earlier. Well done to Ward fr making sure Batch didn't make the A Final.
-
Just tuned in to watch the argie bargie between Batchelor and Holder. Batchelor off one and Holder off 4. Both gated together, and Batchelor went wider and wider off bend one so that Holder clipped the fence. Dirty hard riding and Holder was steaming. They came together after the race and the usual head butting of helmets and a bit of shoving and kicking. Very hard from Batchelor, left no room and Holder could have been over the fence.

Terrible to chose Harris. In fact disgraceful. I would have chosen Eddie or Richardson over Harris any day of the week. Bomber has had his chance. in fact I would have chosen Nicholls over Bomber as well. These people don't have a clue. -

Glad to see fresh English blood in the GPs. tai was a dead cert and I for one am very pleased that BSI have gone against the grain, booted Nicholls and Harris into touch, and not gone with Richardson who had his day a couple of years ago and did nothing. Kennett is young, improving and British. I would rather he be in it than some non discript foriegner like Zagar. Eddie will try his heart out and while not likely to rock the boat, its a brand new fresh rider in the series and that is very important. I am sure he will not let himself down. Together with Tai he will do just as well as Harris and Nicholls have done this year. Lets face it they can't do much worse!! Good luck to both young Brits. -

Italian Gp
Steve Shovlar replied to speedcrazy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wouldn't it just. Peole forget Crump is where he is because Nicki P got a bad injury which ended his chances of keeping the title. Crump benefitted there and now Gollob and Emil are doing the same to Crump as he did to Nicki P. And before anyone jumps on my I am not a nicki fan, just stating the facts of the situation. Crump doesn't have some god given right to win the title this year and injuries are part and parcel of the sport. I for one would certainly be celebrating a Gollob title in a few weeks time if by some chance it came off.
