So good they didn't do a little research into who can run speedway in the UK.
-
Christ there's a lot of nonsense and naive posts on this thread. Orion has summed it up perfectly already. Some two bit organisation comes along and wants to run some speedway meetings. They don't even have the savvy to do a minimum amount of research to realise this is not going to happen. A load of guys quizzing around on their mx bikes is one thing. However some on here like to moan, speedway is a professional sport in the UK and is run just like football, albeit on a much smaller scale. I couldn't come along and organise a football series of Team Gb v Brazil, hire a stadium and make a killing by putting out Rooney, Bale etc. the FA would not allow it, and neither would the SCB. If these guys want to run an event using motor cross riders on motor cross bikes, they "might" have stood a slight chance of hiring a track. Though I doubt they would get peission to do even that. I'll though out concept by a bunch of amateurs.

Speedway On Eurosport

Who would film UK EL speedway if Sky pulled out allowing Eurosport to take it? Eurosport would need a feed to take and show. Doubt it wouold happen. -
Speedway On Eurosport
Steve Shovlar replied to michaelcroucher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Eurosport take feeds, they don't film events themselves. So at best it is likely to be like the dreadful coverage of the Swedish League on Premier Sports. One camera and a bloke in a booth at a studio somewhere, with long periods where the single camera points at the track. It would be awful -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
Steve Shovlar replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thank god for a quality ref like Akroyd. Any other ref would have called it wrong with the possibility of wrecking a gp series. When the incident occurred I called it all four back but was worried the ref might call it wrong. It was clear Pedersen rode Holder onto the grass causing Holder to straighten. All four back the only option and the correct one End of the day Pedersen was looking for it and the ref never fell for it. Good call from the ref who far from bottled it -

Just heading out of Cardiff after a fantastic day. Well done Noddy what a win. Well done KK and Toninio. Brilliant being a Pirates fan tonight. Holder clearly the most popular rider there tonight after the Brits. -

He didn't spit at the camera. The camera would have been yards away from him. And don't you think the cmeraman might have asked him to even do it to capture that moment? -

Considering it was a fairly sparce crowd with the home team riding, I think it should be done away with. Sweden wouldn't have been there on merit. -

Holder very good in defeat. Pretty good meeting though not as good as the first two of the series. Think the joker needs to be abolised or altered. Ref should have excluded Pedersen and that would have stopped the young Dane doing the same. 5 riders and 25 heats has to be better, with t/r's allowed but no jokers. Well done to Denmark. A couple of very good youngsters coming through. -

Well done to the danes. Shame the joker ruined it but they would have won it if they had played it straight. -

Clever from the Danes but Pedersen should be excluded for not racing. -

Last race the best one. Either Denmark or the Aussies. Watt looks a very weak link for the Aussies tonight. Reckon that could swing it to the bacon heads. -
You didn't see a wink on my post because I was serious. I have absolutely nothing against Scottish people at all. But an awful lot of them have this "anyone but England" chip on their shoulders and Murray is one of them. He would never get my support. Anyway back on topic and Come on England, lets beat those convicts on the first of August like we did last time!

A couple of the Brits have been poor. Nicholls and King. So slow compared to riders they should be beating.
