  1. Benfield have no grandstand tickets left. However, the Poole promotion still have some left in the grandstand just in front of the starting gate. These are prime tickets, so if you want one you will need to phone the speedway office (01202 681145) and book them, or ask one of the promoters tomorrow night. Both Matt and Mike I am sure will be able to help you if you are quick. I am pretty sure the tickets sold on the day and online are for the temp stands.
  2. Just heard the long range forecast and it's great news. Tomorrow, Thursday for the playoff they are giving a dry warm day, 25 degrees, warm evening of 17 degrees, so no need for a jacket. Saturday they are giving as hot, sunny, 27-28 degrees in the day cooling to 17 degrees and dry all the way! So perfect weather to come down and watch the meeting. Perhaps not good conditions for track preperations though. And no I am not making excuses for the blue groove! I should imagine the beer tent will be working overtime! Forecast for Sunday and Monday is hot, 30 degrees and sunny all the way.
  3. The place will be packed out on Saturday. I am guessing we may have a lockout for latecomers. If the weather is OK, the Poole fans alone will be out in force, especially with several pages a day on the event in the local Echo. Add to that it's peak holiday season, with tens of thousands of holidaymakers, and there will be queues around the block to get in. Why have it centrally when the fans can go to the beach in the morning then go the the SWC final in the evening? BRINGITON! UPTHE BRITS!
  4. Definately the right decision to bring in Havvy over Screen at Poole. However I wish Middlo would have come over as the one making the decision rather than asking Joe what he wanted to do. Middlo has done a great job with the team. He is on their case, good at talking to them at stressful times (Norris after his fall) and brings ou the best in riders. Just wished he had said on Sky that he had made the decision about Havvy.
  5. Doubt it. He will probably want full asking price or it will go to arbitration. Needs the money to put an offer in on Shlein which will be refused.
  6. I just heard the presenter say, "cheers Mark", and that was it! What was said? Did they watch it or was it the usual "first out the gate....."
  7. Air horns a compulsary at Poole. You have to have at least two to get in! Buy them from the track shop at Poole. Far better, with twice the gas of normal ones, and the same price, about £5-6.50 inc horn. Certainly standing is not being given much space. I guess they will fill the standing areas with fist come first served, then just sell seats. Are people going to travel down and not come in if standing is sold out but there are some seats available? Just playin devils advocate here but I couldn't imagine fans walking away after travelling so far. I am sure though that if the weather is OK on Satrday all those seats will be full. By the way Poole were enquiring whether to keep the seating on the first and second bend for the remainder of the season but it would work out at £1000 a meeting to hire. Bit expensive, unless the BSPA come in and subsidise up to the ELRC. Just a thought as it would certainly be handy for that event.
  8. Well if you are standing I would suggest you are there at 4 pm. The gates open at 5 and I can see very long queues snaking around the car park and up the road by then. I don't have an answer for the long time standing I am afraid. Perhaps it might be worth investing in those small "tripod" fold up chairs that cost about a fiver. Certainly normal fold up chairs will no be allowed inside the stadium. It might be worth bring a small box to sit on then stand on for a better view when racing starts. Just hope these thunderstorms have cleared away by Saturday and its good weather!
  9. Yes agree out with Screen in with Havvy for the final. Screen will be lucky to get 3 points around Poole where Havvy will double figure. Well done to Screen for a good strong performance last night. He derves a medal if GB win one.
  10. Ok I went down to Poole yesterday morning. First of all I spoke to Mike Golding and he said he has a few tickets left for the grandstand, just in front of the starting gate. Benfield do not have any grandstand tickets left. If you want one you will have to contact the speedway office and collect them I guess. Now I took a couple of pics of the new grandstands and they look great. They were building the stand on the first bend at the time I took the pics. I guess there will be standing on the forth bend and along the main straight in front of the grandstand. I suggest that fans with standing tickets get there extremely early as viewing will be limited. I would guess that if there are empty stand seats and there is a crush for standing, fans could be allowed into the empty seats, buut that's only my speculation. With GB now through to the final, the place will be completely full.
  11. Can't imagine Screen will be riding at Poole. Havelock is far superior around Wimborne Road and will definately replace Screen.
  12. God I actually laughed at one of Baron Greebacks posts! by the way Kylmo was it you that purchased the Wembley flag from me on Ebay? The winners name was Kylmo!
  13. Well I went to Eastbourne early once to have a look around the town. No wonder Beachy head is the place to go to if you are feeling down, and after walking around Eastbourne dodging all those zimmer frames its not suprising so many jump off those cliffs! The place is not very nice. Horrible beach which has no sand, lots of retirement people and the place is quite run down. Be careful on the pier as your foot might go through the rotten planking. Visiting Beachy Head is well worth the drive to the west of the town to get great views over the channel and down on the lighthouse. Don't go to near the edge though as it's a long, long way down! Arlington is situated in a nice area of woodlands near polegate. There are a couple of decent country pubs nearby. We are getting there around 5.30 for something to eat. I am test driving a new Toyota Land Cruiser so it should be fun coming up in that. Poor garage are unaware I bought a new Range Rover yesterday though! Still, nice to try it out on a run! Up The Brits!
  14. Who are you trying to kid? Yes you are right. Peterbourough is only 90 miles from Sheffield, while Poole is 117 from Eastbourne, making this years meetings more spread out.
  15. There was an amazing 5 pages of speedway in Saturdays Bournemouth Echo! Well done to the Echo for doing such a brilliant spread. It had interviews, pictures, complete rider profiles and pictures of every rider taking part, and great interviews with Middlo, Olsen and Matt Ford. Could'nt beleive just how much coverage the paper gave to the event! Interesting to read what Matt Ford said about the prices. He said when you consider that Wimbledon rode in the Conference leage last week and it cost £11 to watch it, with no stars and only 15 heats, how is watching a World Cup Final with all the worlds top stars expensive for only £25, when you also get a further 10 heats? He said there will be tickets available on the day to the playoff and the final, so if you are thinking of coming to support Team GB, your country needs you cheering them on at the stadium, not sitting at home where your shouting will not be heard. COME ON TEAM GB!
  16. I am offering a bargain to a fan who want cheap entry to the semi and final. John Leslie and Kylmo are just two very sad old gits who have nothing better to do than try and ruin what is a genuine offer to any speedway fan who is thinking of coming down to the meetings and wants to save a small fortune (£30) on gaining entry. Thanks Steve
  17. Deal? Deal?....no-one mentioned any deals when I was booking tickets......grrrrrr...or is that some other sort of deal? The deal was buy tickets for all four events and get the lot for £95. so 95/4=23.75 a ticket, which these are. If you buy tickets for the semi and final, the cost of £75 for the two meetings. So by getting these two tickets from me you save a whopping £30, or basically you get into the semi for free and pay normal price for the final, with a guarenteed seat. As standing is very limited and not in the best positions, this is a real bargain, whether Kylmo or John Leslie likes it or not. Still available.
  18. You order these tickets or pay on the door and its £75 for both meetings. The reason they state such a low fee is because they were a 4 ticket deal for £95.
  19. These are genuine tickets purchased by me. Here are scans of them with my name on it. I purchased a 4 ticket set for someone who now cannot make it. I have sold Monday and Tuesdays tickets, (Tabby had the Tuesday one from me last night) Still available.
  20. No you will not have my company, as I am selling them as a spare I purchased for someone else who now can't make it. Still available.
  21. I have a ticket for Thusday and another for Saturdays final for sale. They are both seating tickets. If anyone wants them, the price is £45. Of course you can stand if you so wish. The price to buy direct is £75, so this is a good saving. I can post out quickly so you will have them well before the event. Thanks Steve
  22. Sheffield to Peterborough is roughly the same distance Poole is from Eastbourne. Why on earth go to such dismal places when the event can be held in nice places like Poole and Estbourne? Would Johnny Foriegner enjoy an afternoon walking around Sheffield or a few beers in the many pubs and restaurants of lovely Poole Quay, and maybe take a boat ride around the harbour or enjoy all the blue flag beaches? I think the last paragraph answers the reason why Poole has been chosen over a large industrial northern city.
