  1. Morley strengthens Plymouth at home. Very good around there. Strake’s heart just didn’t seem to be in it this season. A year too long in the sport for him?
  2. Hope the trackman has been flooding the track today. Warm, sunny and breezy. Going to be a tough job keeping the dust at bay.
  3. He was off gate 4 and clearly moved. You were stood with Alan who said to me after the meeting he couldn’t believe Kerr got away with that one. Check your specs!
  4. Very good meeting tonight and they way Poole fought back when 8 down was pretty impressive. Considering 13 and 15 had Nicholls, unbeaten at that point, and Sam Masters off 1 and 3 in both, the pirates could have been looking to pull back up to 16 points in the return. But Worrall produced a great ride in heat 13 and Lawson got ahead of Masters for a surprise 2-4 to dent Oxfords hopes and in heat 14 ripped out any realistic chance with a 1-5 to go two up. Nicholls and Masters gated to win the meeting for Oxford in heat 15 but Poole had negated the risk and it would be a major upset if Pirates don’t go through to the final. Ref Durno excelled himself though in heat 9 allowing a clear and obvious flyer for Kerr. The whole stadium saw it but the ref turned a blind eye. Poor show. Special mention for Kyle Newman with his paid 13. Going to miss his scoring prowess when he swaps with Rowe.
  5. Outrageous roller from Kerr in heat 9 which the whole stadium saw except the Ref Durno.
  6. I was going through some old tapes when I found sone very amateur footage of the 2006 ELRC at Poole which I had forgotten I filmed from my position in the grandstand. I had no way of capturing this so steamed it to my tv and filmed off it with my iPhone. There is a little reflection but it’s watchable for standard definition. A couple of the riders are still active like Pedersen, Nicholls, KK. Many have retired but good to see Adams, Loram, Hancock, Hamill, Wiltshire, Jensen, Crump and Boyce throwing it about and Adam Shields, Simon Stead and others making up the numbers. Don’t think footage of this meeting is available anywhere else. Pretty good final as well.
  7. All four Pirates come through tonight unscathed and in decent form. Lawson had a solid meeting and we should be at full strength for tomorrow night. Looking forward to it.
  8. Don’t have it. Dozens of Eurosport channels from different countries but 5 extra is not working for me.
  9. I don’t pay for any subscription channels. Well £35 a year for a worldwide 4k streaming service of thousands of channels. Unfortunately Discovery + is not there.
  10. Me too. Virtually every sports channel this side of the moon but not discovery plus. Been through over 1500 channels looking for it.
  11. Well I don’t have discovery plus so that’s no use.
  12. So the fans at Monmore have to eat more burgers and chips because of a women’s tennis match in front of two hundred bored looking fans.
  13. Where’s the speedway on Eurosport? Got women’s tennis.
  14. They won’t be here on Wednesday. It’s a normal workday.
  15. Interesting that Oxford don’t stream. Most clubs now do and it’s an extra revenue stream for club finances.
  16. But regardless of that, I wish him success in his career. He is capable of doing very well given the right guidance.
  17. You can be pissed off with your own performance, but we won the title. It was definitely time to put personal disappointments to one side and celebrate with the rest of the team, rather than sulk in the pits when the other 6 are chucking champagne about. Danny and Steve W had to go and drag him out when he should have been there for the team and fans rather than skulking. It certainly angered Danny Ford. And antics like that might have cost Drew a team place in this years lineup.
  18. Have always supported Drew Kemp, that was until the playoff final at KL where he acted terribly. A southern club were after him very recently but his demands were off the scale. I he has genuine issues, then perhaps he shouldn’t be riding? I wish him the best. He certainly has ability.
  19. I spoke to Simon Lambert on Wednesday about Kemp and he wasn’t very flattering in his opinion. Pretty sure a few home truths could be said in the next few weeks. Lambert is pretty straight talking.
  20. I spoke to Simon Lambert on Wednesday about Kemp and he wasn’t very flattering in his opinion.
  21. Fell in his first in a messy first bend, beaten by Douglas in his next, beaten by Jake Allen who got a bit of a flyer on his third, easily won heat 12 then beaten by an untouchable Douglas in heat 15. Not his best night but a decent 9 points.
  22. Sam Hagon is not coming to Plymouth. Riding Poland Tuesdays.
