Ain't going to happen though is it? Campton in for Millsy is a certainty, that's nearly 2 points to lose elsewhere in the team
-
Survey time, assuming it's the same points limit, who would you want as number 1? Lawson? Bach? Or someone else? I'm still of the opinion that only one of Rich and Rene should be retained as their away form can be quite erratic

That atmosphere will stay with me for a long time, truly special. Loved it when Rene got off his bike at the end giving it the 'we are not worthy' Best wishes to Rohan, looked absolutely horrific -
Campton will be in, won't be a problem

Workington V Edinburgh (pl) 9/9/13 @ 7.00/7.30pm
Django replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Cancelling the test match is the only option as I see it, the days that Edinburgh aren't running one of the lads is riding leaving no option but Saturday. I will be gutted to see that happen but it's just one of those things. Last night was a no win situation, would have been criticism for not starting it or as seen on here criticism for having a go. We have been lucky this year (barring this fixture) regarding rain offs -
Think you maybe mean Robert Lambert, there will be a scramble for his signature next year, star in the making there
-
Plus Ashley Morris Najjer
-
I didn't realise they were raising the points limit to 50!!!!! And I'll be surprised if Rene ends up back at Newcastle
-
I think leagues will only restructure if Sky go, the top earning riders will also go and we will go from there. Just my opinion. And I agree some products will be watered down from those who are struggling to make ends meet but those with decent backing should be able to serve up the same if not better. Worst case scenario, we buy an air fence, Sky pull the money, league restructures and we end up in a lower standard league with fewer coming through the gates and it shuts soon after
-
The alternative to points reduction of course is the restructuring of the leagues that could see us in the top league, bet you would still come then Skoobie! It's all ifs and buts at the moment but it would be surprising to see all the investment into an air fence and then serve up an inferior product
-
No chance with Campton, he's Workington's asset and management and rider have already stated he is riding for Workington in 2014
-
Ah that time of year again when the speculating starts, firstly I think a lot will depend on if/when Sky pull out and if any league restructuring takes place. Assuming it stays the same I would go with Kyle, Tero and Ash from this years side. Wouldn't have Cook as it would be too unbalanced and probably wouldn't leave Edinburgh and I would have only one of Rich and Rene back. I can't see Rich going to Glasgow as he's moved down south and no longer works with his Dad Our problem this year has been heat leaders away form and not having Campton. Hopefully paperwork will be sorted and we will have Campton and Ash at reserve. We need a heat leader to perform away so maybe Dyer, Wells or an assessed 7 pointer to come in? Still leaves another place to fill, I love watching Rusty ride when he's on song but he's too inconsistent and gets down on himself so easily it can be damaging to the team. Whatever happens there will be twists and turns but it's nice to be able to speculate unlike this time last year when we didn't know if we would be running or not

Workington V Newcastle Pl Saturday 24th August 2013
Django replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think last time Worrall was here he bullied Rich and Rene in the first corner, last night it was the other way round. Good to see Rusty back on it, Kyle was superb, Rene very fast and Rich looked much better - anything to do with his dad being back in the pits I wonder?!? Looking forward to this afternoon a bit more now, still think we will lose by a similar margin we won by last night but a little bit of optimism has returned! -

Says on the website that Ash is back. I think a lot will depend on how Rene goes against Worrall in 1, 13 and probably 15 especially after Worrall's dominating performance guesting for Plymouth -

I think you are giving us too much credit, we really haven't been performing in recent weeks, I think we will be lucky to get anything from either of these matches -
Witches V Devils ( Pl ) 22-8-13

If Bech rides like he did in both matches against Worky you will be in for a treat, he really is a class act at this level and I imagine world class in a couple of years -
I agree it's going to be very exciting, however I thought it was the top placed team picked one opponent, then the second placed team picked, then the first again and finally the second? I stand to be corrected though. That's why I think whoever finishes first would probably pick Redcar and whoever finishes second would probably choose Workington and then be left with the stronger sides
-
Mystic Meg here - Edinburgh and Ipswich to finish top 2 in the league and have the play off picks, Edinburgh choose Redcar and Somerset, Ipswich have Worky and Newcastle, turns out to be a Edinburgh/Newcastle final with the Diamonds coming out as eventual play off winners

Howe's absence makes them stronger, we have Luke Crang guesting for Ash, best of luck Luke -
Everyone will be wanting Worky in their group after some of our away displays against the top teams. I think it will be Edinburgh and Ipswich as the top two
-
Yes really, ask any member of the crowd from that night at Derwent Park, wasn't nice to see Just seen on the Facebook site it's Branford for Ash
-
I'm glad Ash doesn't have to face another of Nielsen's side swipes
-
But Charles Wright's average is more than Ash's so it's irrelevant
-
I agree Lewis Rose would be the best option if possible
