  1. Should be saying the same about the Comets Danes there J, how many times are we going to run on Friday and Sunday this season?
  2. Aaarrgghhh, dont say that, you know we dont respond well to pressure?? Hope not, sorry but been there done that, new blood required I think!!
  3. Kenneth Hansen, at 7.70 he has the highest average so it should be him unless something has changed in the rules I'm not aware of? Please Baldyman, dont enthuse over our team, we had that scenario last season and look what happened to them!!
  4. The former I would say, with the team being built with the idea of keeping Campton at reserve, I cant see the likes of Morris, especially coming back after serious injury, being capable of scoring 5+ on a regular basis to keep him there? Some relatively moderate averages in this team so far, improvement definitely a possibility and who knows, with so many Danes in it maybe even Rene could be improved as well, win win!! New team sponsor, Easy Jet?
  5. Two disappointing performers from last years team and a slightly suspect EL drop down, the reasons to be excited at this time are....where exactly? J, put that bottle down, it's far too early to be posting drink fuelled comment like this!!
  6. As has been mentioned, a Thursday track will suit Bellego much better than the weekend track at Berwick, with travelling to the continent under much less pressure now, this guy could be a real ace in the hole for Sheffield!!
  7. Bout the size of it, if he has more to give why wait for the fifth year of his reign before showing it, improved form from him over the last couple of seasons with the riders we had could have proved a winner for us but, as you say, too many four/five pt scores when we really needed the ten plus? Dont equate the term a "substantial increase in average" with Rene, this injury business plays on his mind I'm sure it does, always gives me the impression that he's saving a bit for himself, which, tho understandable, is not conducive to a substantial increase in average? 22.5 for four riders, Wells would be my pick out of that lot but with Hansen/Howarth being Coventry team mates I can see that being a factor, help each other here as well as there!! Yeah, looks that way to me as well!!
  8. If I'd had a bet on this I'd have just lost my money, didn't look happy at all back end of the season and almost guaranteed to be looking for pastures new, unless something has happened behind the scenes to sort out any problems he might have been experiencing, I tend to agree with Marksman, possibly not the best of moves?
  9. Thank's mate, agree with you on that, not worth the hassle? And Thank You to you too Sir, much appreciated.
  10. My apologies if this has been answered already but any news on what will happen about the two matches Glasgow couldn't get run?
  11. Well done Gazc, never saw that link to my past, need to up my game here!!
  12. And.... why not!! Always the way, whenever I'm not there, wonder if they are trying to tell me something?
  13. Glad to see that we did finish on a happy note, better result than anticipated tho judging by the enthusiasm on here it cant have been that important after all, not a comment, disappointing, did nothing happen?
  14. Probably be only a couple of hundred hardy souls down DP tonight, with that cold wind blowing in off the Solway I would reckon this will be the fastest meeting of the season to get done and hopefully prevent those people being frozen to the spot? 7pts to make up is more than doable for the Comets and I'm quietly confident of a 10/12pt win tonight!! Wont be there myself, season is over for me due to work but I'll keep an eye out for the updates, if anyone is doing them, for as long as possible and will get the result later on, wish everyone well tonight with no injuries, lets finish on a happy note!!
  15. G*t, my pre Voltarol period you understand!! Not that well, it was April 1974!! Just for the record then, how about Tina Turner, March 1985?
  16. Unexpected result but it'll do nicely!! Looking on updates, Comets 3 top men totalled 38, E,boro's top 3 totalled 38, it would appear that the back up to them was the deciding factor, Comets had it E,boro didn't? Couple of tidy performances around tonight, half an eye on next season perhaps but overall it looked a sound effort, didn't make it myself tonight, got a better offer, Oh I do like the smell of money!! Seriously tho, how many were there tonight, thought it would be touch and go myself so pleased it got run, saved a bit of bother!!
  17. Oh no, it's not that standing water in the surrounding areas issue again is it?
  18. Oh I see, the usual old Comets bollox, you weren't there so your opinion doesn't count, do you apply that also to the "Berwick fan's" posting here as well? In the original post I clearly stated that my opinion on events was based on comment made by people who "were" there, and, tho not stated, on previous experience of watching part completed matches, it was merely a "suggestion" nothing lasts forever and there is nothing to suggest that some form of remedial work would not be of benefit, after all you state yourself that "flooded areas" are caused by "trapped water" in surrounding areas so, in your haste to try and belittle me you have agreed quite clearly and by your own admission, that the track is affected/compromised by heavy rainfall so improved drainage would be of benefit? It's far easier to control how much water you put down before/during a meeting, that's a given, heavy rain is another so there is nothing stopping a little "man made" help to nature being provided is there?
  19. Oh Dear, looks like I've missed absolutely nothing then? Job's to do over the winter, 1) Dig up track 2) Smash the base up a bit to improve soakaway 3) Re lay track or, 4) Just call it quits, reputation must be minced, can't see any excuses meaning anything now just been too many no matter how genuine this one might be? As I've said, I wasn't able to make tonight so never saw the conditions but judging by the various statements this has, sadly, turned into another shambles which just simply wont do this club any favours at all?
  20. Berwick only have seven points to play with so should be pretty determined, I'm hopeful tho that the Comets will have enough to squeeze through by around 50-40!! Cant be there tonight because of work so will keep an eye out for the result?
  21. Very good effort to keep it that close, shame about ht 15 tho, but that sets tomorrow up very nicely!!
  22. Hope we give a good end of season account of ourselves this weekend, not expecting much but if we can keep this close...ish then it should set up a decent second leg tomorrow. Home win tho by about 52-40.
