British Finals - Favourites & Most Memorable Races

think Louis/loram was a corker of a race, but in general liked the Brandon brit finals from late 70s, atmosphere wise -
I believe he was 9th?, and no, I didn't see it all, but snippets I did see, and believe he is more than capable of 7.5+ in elite league.. if hes part of a winning team, and away from the boo-boys, I think he will be ok
-
agree with that. as shown in the euro championships, can still beat the best, and when in front, a very good blocker
-
2015....our group paid £43.50..two adults one junior and a programme!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I personally prefer elite speedway, even though in todays terms "elite" may be pushing it a bit. I actually love Brandon, shame its closing
-
bit aggressive aren't we?....its not about winning trophies (though it certainly helps), its about being "mis-lead"....I put 37 yrs in at foxhall, so clearly I seen poor years, also saw the best.
-
your point is???? clearly what I was saying is......speedway used to provide top class quality..(the price is irrelivent), so by "getting real" as you politely put it, speedway is in the gutter now, cos the paying public know when they are short changed. watching novices in elite league for near on £20?.....think not
-
fair enough, you carry on enjoying it..
-
think lots of teams in same boat, beesman..looking forward to my final visits to the wonderful stadium next year
-
im fully aware you won nothing of any substance, witches clearly going backwards, crowds are down, failed to reach top 6 in weaker league, I don't have to go to see a backward decline!..you could have passing in every race of the season, but coming "7th" makes it pointless
-
the "reason" or "excuse" for dropping down, was, cos it had gone stale.....next season appears even worse than the last 5.. I have to watch my speedway elsewhere these days, but keep an eye on this thread.....would of been back in a flash with a new broom, but hey ho, will have to wait another year now!!
-
spot on.....no return for me again then!....just jealous of torun team sheet...nicki and emil...now theres £20 worth spending!

What would Tai gain for racing in England?.....

like minded thread...they had this sport so right, yet its now sooo wrong!! -
and having a british WORLD CHAMPION not riding here doesn't help our cause...but I fully back Tai not wanting to ride here
-
and quite rightly your choice..as I said in the past, though it was years ago, I paid £10 to watch ricko/gollob/Louis verses Hamill/hancock....im not spending double to watch whats currently on offer. im sure you see some great races, but not for me, this "entertainment" dished up if you live near a NL track, or prem track, I suppose you know little else. John Berry gave me years and years of quality.. I just don't like lower level speedway
-
alex, feel free to pay your money and watch what pleases you. its a second rate amateur sport in England now, I am not paying to watch youngsters learn their trade. And when/if they do, no doubt they will disappear in the sunset too. !!
-
IS FTR / doubling up/ double points/reduced crowds the right direction?
-
absolutely!!
-
was the team colours brought in for tv? if so, couldn't they just be worn when sky are in town?...individual "leathers" always stood out for me, it added far more colour to the sport than these dreary team suits, only a small matter, but I personally don't think team colours has enhanced the spectacle
