would certainly help. but cant help thinking they wont want to publicise figs

100 a meeting extra needed? not saying its easy by any means, but to attract 100 extra customers must be within the realms of possibility?..a concerted effort from fans to entice just 1 friend to bring along must be possible in itself?

this WAS a thread with similar views...opinions differ, of course they do...to call our views "stupid" is your opinion. I have attended this sport for 37 years EVERY week, more than once a week, at times, travelled abroad toview this sport as well. So MY CHOICE, not YOURS, I willnot pay to watch NL OR PREM racing...MY CHOICE..if that's a stupid choice, then that's MY stupid choice....I also wont pay to watch riders learning their trade, if I did, id go to a NL track, not interested..i don't want to see doubling up, where one week a riders against you, next week for you...all MY CHOICE..As I say, this was a very interesting thread until this last person decides us "fossils" are gullible!!...im not gullible enugh to be short changed by this current backward looking amateur run sport

if you walk past your local dog and duck pub, and see Phil Dickinson verses Tom Bloggs darts match, you wouldn't be bothered. if you see Phil Taylor verses James Wade? hello?...got a feeling you may just pop in.....good racing could happen every night every week, but big names only, will attract big turnouts....hence 16 lapper, olympique, pride of the east, star of Anglia, todays line ups are tripe (no offence to riders) but ONLY big names will put bums on seats
-
very true, but aim the sport at BOTH young and old....youngsters see todays product, they not coming through the gate...oldies see todays product, they not coming through the gate??....look at how we DID come through the gate

good post abs...going to speedway WAS exciting, following not only my team (at the time) but also other teams. brit finals at Brandon was fantastic occasions, id not watch a modern day brit final, but that's individual choice. speedway WAS like it now is in Sweden...if it doesn't get back that way,i wont return, my choice...watching a doubling up system is mickey mouse, imo.....mix n match teams not for me. its a shame, cos like many ex fans on here, we DO still like this sport, but stepping back from it, looking in, it really does seem amateur at this present time

quite true trees, so for me, im happy watching good quality in Sweden on my tv set, rather than pay for this sub standard over here......the product has gone downhill way too much.......when I book a holiday, I go for best value for money.. would I go on a Fred Olsen cruise for 3 nights, when I could go Royal Caribbean for 6 nights? Speedway is no different, and speedway fans have been "expected" to attend, whatever we are served up. well, clearly, judging by current attendances, we are not given value for money..
-
why do some fans think speedway fans should watch speedway, whatever is put in front of us?? back in "98...yes years ago, I was paying roughly £10 to watch (for example witches/cov), gollob/Louis/rickardsson verses Hamill/hancock.......now,for MORE money, doubling up rubbish added on top, half size crowds to back then, and yet people think we should all hold hands and continue backing a doomed sport!! when/if the sport is ever saved, you can then expect my £18 through the turnstiles

Tai won 5 gp"s so far, not yet in Britain, im sure hes not trying here!!!
-
quite agree....I will not return/pay to watch NL riders...prob not even prem, nowadays happier watching quality Swedish/polish league on tv or you tube..british speedway is pretty much finished as a spectacle
-
people buy into the hype....the racing isn't special, atmosphere brilliant, pre match build up great, huge speedway feel great, but you wouldn't want to view that "action" at your local week in, week out

you can download a nomination form from www.gov.uk/honours

think when (mainly older supporters) stop going, you end up NOT missing it, even though you still follow it. then when you see it on sky, you realise theres nothing to tempt you back..when you"ve witnessed quality "proper" 1-7 man teams you see the second rate "attraction" now on offer. I think its just as hard to tempt back the oldies, as it is to attract newbies!
-
unless I missed them, I don't recall any gp advertising in the national press on the lead up to a gp, I see no point advertising it in the speedway star, anybody buying that magazine will know full well about it..

awesome effort

of course kk wants to ride here....NOW...

I personally think the bspa need be radical,,tinkering round the edges will achieve nothing

Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April

quite agree, its just a filler that makes them look good.. its gonna be a real weak line up -
as I say, never understood why a fan says they prefer lower leagues..speedway is a sport, hence in competitive sport, surely any fan wants to see top flight...of course speedway isn't a professional run sport, and clearly dictated by finance constraints, so yes I understand your point..
-
agree with that trees, but also think "promoters" should be doing these obvious things already..
