Somerset Cases Rebels V Edinbourgh 13/8/14
Chris Hutcheson replied to Starman2006's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We were/are of form, but even the heats we won were FTG. I think Kurtz' amazing heat 15 is blocking peoples memories from a poor meeting. Deek has been poor but who could you bring in to replace him? We are stuck and have to hope he turns it round. Wonder if Allen will get the rigged bike comments that Cookie got? He looked fast as ****, some really good starts as well. -

While Sheilfield is right up there with the best Stadia in the world! The product is racing and Armadale wins hands down over that first two bend rubbish! Blame what you want, the shape, the preparation or the weather. You can ALWAYS count the passes on one hand in a night at Berwick. Maybe even in your double header. -

Berwick were wrank rotten that night though. Tonight we showed we had capabilities of winning a race or two if we gated. Berwick were wrank rotten that night though. Tonight we showed we had capabilities of winning a race or two if we gated. -
Obsessed? No. Entirely different? Again, no! Were both meetings stopped from going ahead/ending because the Workington "promotion" failed to provide medical cover? Yes! If that's entirely different then spank my bum and call me Fanny! Again, I'm not obsessed, I'm posting my views and responding on the thread regarding the cancelled meeting. Do you understand how this forum thing works? If I was trolling on other threads or was starting my own, then you could call me an obsessive!

Somerset V Sheffield 29/7
Chris Hutcheson replied to oldtimer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
To be fair, if Cookie was at the pairs nobody would have bothered to turn up. Shame that the Sheffield team has been decimated, but well done to the promotion for getting a team together. Can't see many Somerset fans leaving early tonight... -

Get Theo's go faster mohawk back on his helmet and he'll be a cracking number 1. I always thought that's what was missing in his racing these days. -
The situation just stunk to me. This isn't a discussion about the Edinburgh night, but surely both incidents have to be looked into. As for paying expenses etc. what about the fans who had made the trip? That's my original point, fans left paying the costs with two questionable (in my opinion) call off's
-
100% agree that rider safety is paramount. I'm not suggesting that the meetings should have went ahead without the appropriate medical provisions. I am just unconvinced on both occasions that the "promotion" did everything they could to provide what was required. There are reasons on both occasions why they would want the meetings off, not saying it's a certainty, but it is also not beyond the realms of possibility! Edited to add: It's just the fact that they have failed on two occasions on the same front, laughable almost.
-
I would say it's nonsense that a "promotion" would allow two meetings to be called off/abandoned in one season due to medical reasons. Neither were spectacular situations where you could understand/warrant call-off's. You can blame whoever you want, but for myself and any other travelling fan(I would imagine) would say the buck stops with the "promotion".The p*** taking of speedway fans has to stop ASAP. The sport is struggling, treating the people who always have their hand in their pockets is not the way to go! P.S good to know if I don't agree with somebody's point of view I can just resort to name calling.

Shifted for some kiddies football and some energetic buggers going round France. Think the cycling is a re-run as well, extremely disappointing! @Brandonbee It's showing in the UK at 9pm on Eurosport 2 -
Peterborough V Edinburgh 20/7/14 5pm
Chris Hutcheson replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He may be 27, but only five years into a speedway career! He will step up(In my opinion) but recent events at the GP Qualifier and Cardiff show that he isn't quite there... yet. OK, He won't have a Hancock length of career at the top, but he'll be a hell of a lot closer than I'll ever be! -
Edinburgh V Redcar (pl) 4/7/14 @7.30pm
Chris Hutcheson replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
They posted earlier today that the match is definitely on. There had been no rain and only expected rain between 2-4, and the track needs it. Raining in Edinburgh right now, sorry I can't be any more local! -
While I understand your sentiment, I have also said "I hope it's a bit closer this week" but it isn't always a foregone conclusion to me. I'm not sure we have seen a meeting where all of our team firing at once, and there have almost always been decent heats each week. Maybe we haven't had last heat deciders and the like, but heat-by-heat speedway is still exciting! Also, our unbeaten run does include a fair few away matches! Why are matches at Armadale not matched? Should have our promotion picked riders that wouldn't perform well? I think as a neutral or an away team supporting tigger it may not be enjoyable. But as a Monarch fan I will ride the wave and enjoy it while it lasts. Next season we will probably be living LAC (Life after Cookie) and it could be very different. I'm sure, as you suggested in your post, you would switch places if you could.
-
It was a strange performance last night, only three last places and it was still close. I'm not sure of his average but if we could drop Deek for Joe Tabaka, I'd do it in a heartbeat. It's plain for everyone to see that Deek's only in the team just now for his ability as a captain. I'd love if he turned it on from reserve and fought to get back in the team like last season, but I feel there have been to many false dawns already. Aaron has shown me enough to say he will improve a lot as a rider, extremely tidy. He will be likely to have off nights this year, especially away, but would definitely stick with him.

Surely then the heat leaders need to up their game and not get passed by a reserve, or even better, figure a way to re-pass the reserve? Why not just race in a straight line on a carpet? -

Chris Hutcheson replied to CaptainAudi's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Did he take him out or did Garrity try to block Sneddon and come off worse? Like I said, he had clouted Sneddon a lap before. Don't give it if you can't take it. -

You couldn't help being impressed by Garrity on Monday, but tonight was a different story. In his first two looked like a bad accident waiting to happen, riding up Max's back wheel. He regained some composure in his third, then what happened afterward was an absolute disgrace. He had clouted Deek (very hard but fairish racing) and Deek repayed the compliment a lap later, causing Garrity to pack up. He then pulled up on the centre green, went to say something to Sneddon on the victory lap, and walked to the pit gate to wait for him. A couple words were said and Garrity swung for Deek with a punch and then his helmet. Obviously being a Falkirk lad, Deek was having none of that! A wee mele in sued. I don't know whether he was just up his own arse from Monday or he is just a little kid. -
Swedish Elitserien 2014, Round 7
Chris Hutcheson replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
My favorite moment was when Sam called Oliver Berntzon "Oliver Zinski" in heat 15 while chasing down Miedzinski. I thought Sam was there to correct Jack, but it seems Jack's ways are infiltrating Sam's mind. Or Jack commenting that "the two Zinski's are leading the race" in heat 3.
