The tractor racing was at its worst tonight but the meeting still finished about 8.45 which I didn't think was too bad!

How can a home team only take 2 points from a meeting? It's either 3 for a win or 1 for a draw.

You will be happy this week then! The teams for Saturday were published on the Lion's website this morning. Nothing yet about the Cubs match at BV on Friday yet though!!

According to the BBC the rain is only light in Perry Barr at the moment and due to stop about 5 p.m.

If that's the case whoever beckoned the bouser off the track had no regard for the comfort of the fans on bends 3 and 4!

If you look at the Speedway Updates report you will see there are more than one of two passes after bend two on the first lap.

The original planning permission included a proper stand to include, among other things, a ticket office and entrance, refreshments, track shop, toilets and riders changing rooms. Like many other aspects of the development it never got built and so we have the ad hoc arrangements that we have now.

Or change the rules so that the transponder can be fixed to something that doesn't revolve.

I think the disabled spaces outside the track are for spectators. I imagine you have to contact the club to make arrangements to use them as they are, I think, accessed from the same, separate, entrance that the riders etc use. After the track was completed David Hemsley obtained planning permission for a properly laid out and surfaced car park but nothing happened. I assume that this was due to a lack of finance.

It's Tescos not Sainsburys just in case anyone gets misled! To be really pedantic it's the Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre Car Park.

I don't very often come to the aid of any promoter but you need to bear in mind the costs incurred by them even though the meeting was abandoned. I don't know what they will be but I think they could well include hire of stadium, hire of medical staff, referees fees, payments to track staff and travelling fees for riders. There might be other costs incurred as well. All of the above will also be incurred when the meeting is re-run.

It's no good going on recent performances. Lion's won at Scunthorpe and Plymouth last season!

The Lion's have now completed a quarter of their league fixtures so they better start to improve their away form pretty soon. Redcar on Friday would be a good place to start!
