As an alternative you could award the extra point to the team that has the least number of last places (including non finishers and disqualified riders). Admittedly you would still need to toss a coin or draw lots if that results in a tie but you would with the present system.

LEICESTER star Ryan Douglas makes a second attempt to stage his Testimonial meeting at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park on Saturday (4pm). All involved were devastated back in March when torrential rain moved in just as the riders were walking out on parade, to put paid to the meeting. However, there is another excellent line-up in place for Saturday for what should be an entertaining meeting without quite the pressure of play-off encounters! Important information for supporters is that for those present at the first staging, your re-admission ticket is valid for Saturday. For those paying on the day, normal Leicester Premiership prices apply. If you also have a programme from the original staging, inserts will be available free of charge. The changes on Saturday compared to March are largely due to the fact that it is Ekstraliga Finals weekend in Poland, with Watling JCB Lions skipper Max Fricke for example racing for Grudziadz at home to Wroclaw on Saturday evening. The line-up is as follows: 1 Ryan Douglas, 2 Matias Nielsen, 3 Bartosz Smektala, 4 Sam Masters, 5 Jason Doyle, 6 Scott Nicholls, 7 Kyle Howarth, 8 Tobiasz Musielak, 9 Luke Becker, 10 Niels-Kristian Iversen, 11 Kye Thomson, 12 Lewi Kerr, 13 Rohan Tungate, 14 Zach Cook, 15 Josh Pickering, 16 Leon Flint. There will also be 250cc Support races from the Young Lions featuring Seth Norman, Demi Blu Harris, Emerson Betty and Kane Newby. -

I wonder if Josh and Ryan are still speaking to each other after heat 15 last night. -

Is this still on? I can't find anything about whose riding, if it's being streamed etc. There's still nothing on the Lions website. -
I can't say if it's a good decision or not. I'm not a track curator and conditions at the track might be different to where I am. All I can say is that my garden was dry at 2.30 pm yesterday when it started to rain. It wasn't heavy rain and it had left off by about 8.00 p.m. What I will query is why the decision was taken so early, especially as Sheffield is only 70 miles away up the M1.

Home Try Speedway Info News Fixtures/Results Premiership Championship NDL Events More+ ROWE Motor Oil Premiership PREMIERSHIP PLAY-OFFS UPDATE Wednesday, September 3, 2025 IPSWICH have been confirmed as league leaders in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership ahead of this month’s play-offs. The Witches’ scheduled trip to Sheffield on Wednesday was postponed due to rain, meaning the Suffolk side cannot be caught before the cut-off on Thursday night. It means Ipswich will face a play-off semi-final against champions Belle Vue, starting in Manchester next Monday (September 😎 with the return at Foxhall on Thursday September 11. Witches manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “We are confirmed as top for the play-offs. It is great for us to finish top, we haven’t done that for a long while. “It gives us the second leg in the play-offs which everyone likes if we can progress and win it at home, if we can do that. “That is a long way off, we know we have got two very tough meetings against Belle Vue next week who are the reigning champions.” The other play-off semi-final, to be staged in week commencing September 15, will be between Leicester and Sheffield, with the order of legs to be decided by positions in the league table following Thursday’s fixtures. Premiership CEO Phil Morris said: “Sheffield did all they could to stage their match against Ipswich twice in the last week, and it’s very unfortunate that they were beaten by the weather on both occasions. “The play-offs will be proceeding according to the schedule next week. We already knew Belle Vue were finishing fourth, enabling their home match to be allocated for next Monday some time ago, and their opponents are now known as Ipswich will be top on Thursday night regardless of results.”

I suspect Steve Worrall was picked because he scored 16 against Berwick on Saturday! -

Steve Worrall scored 16 from 7 rides against Berwick on Saturday so I suspect that's why he is guesting tonight! -

Stewart Dickson mentioned on the Leicester v BV BSN stream last night that Nick's ban ends soon. I don't know if he's got him in mind to replace Luke Becker!
