  1. I totally agree with your comment about Lee Complin. My understanding is that riders testing track conditions do so at racing speed. Lee got nowhere near that. And what a convenient place to slide off gracefully - just by the pit gate. Joe Thompson did get up to racing speed and didn't seem to have a problem.
  2. By my reckoning it should be today or tomorrow unless there has been an extension like in the Nick Morris case.
  3. The riders were suspended for 30 days from 11th September so the hearing has to be before 11th Ictober.
  4. See here for some dates: http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.32348.1
  5. Just to add to your woes Max James and Vinnie Ford had a set too after one on their races at Belle Vue last night! Wonder what the Cubs Team Spirit will be like tonight!
  6. There's a few Mondays and Thursdays free now after the Lions result tonight!
  7. I agree about the odd team changes. They looked like panic to me! Come on the Cubs!
  8. I can see where you are coming from but some others don't seem to appreciate your sense of humour! Perhaps they are not up to speed!
  9. It's a bit more complicated than that. The land on which the stadium is built was where the effluent from the City's Victorian sewage treatment works was disposed of. The part on which the stadium stands was badly contaminated by heavy metals like lead and cadmium and is not fit for housing or any kind of development where people are going to spend a lot of time. Its extremely unlikely therefore that the Council will be able to sell the land for the forseeable future. The bits where development has taken place were not so badly contaminated.
  10. Wouldn't it make more sense to put Bewley at 5 and Worrall at 3 and move Sedgmen back to no 2 with r/r at 4?
  11. Does anyone know Lions riding order for tonight? I'm one of those cheapskates who make their own racecard!
  12. It's a bit like that old joke. Who played for Arsenal in the morning and Spurs in the afternoon? Answer: Metropolitan Police Band!
  13. R/R for Cook should mean that Lions will get more than a big fat zero!
  14. Bomber guesting for the Lions at BV at lunchtime. And, no, it's not April 1st!
  15. The wheels have really come of with a vengeance! I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but I think the manager must take responsibility. When Nick Morris was suspended Lions could have used rider replacement. Morris wasn't riding all that well, particularly at home, and it would have made sense to see if the rest of the team could cover for his absence. If only just in the short term while an adequate replacement was found. Instead it seemed as if panic set in and Batchelor was quickly signed as replacement. That didn't work out so there was more panic with Bomber and Batchelor departing and Richie Worrall and Craig Cook arriving. Richie does his best but he's only a middle order rider and there's not much I can say about Craig. He used to be more or unless unbeatable at Beaumont Park but the Manager, who must know everything there's is to know about him, still signed him despite his form in the Premiership in recent seasons. My view, for what it's worth, is that it would have been better to have tried the R/R route and, if another heat leader to replace Morris, couldn't have been found, continue with that to the end of the season.
  16. Four miles from the track. Nice and sunny at the moment. Had a heavy shower between 2 and 3. Could be more showers up until 7ish.
  17. Brave move putting Craig Cook at no 5 for Lions!
  18. Perhaps the opportunity for more practice sessions at Beaumont Park than at Cowley might influence his decision about who he rides for in the NDL next season.
