  1. STATEMENT: KING’S LYNN SPEEDWAY SATURDAY, MAY 18, 2024 Having already been under investigation for postponing a League fixture on the 4th May 2023, the Directors of the BSP Ltd reported the King’s Lynn club to the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) for postponing the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture on the 9th May 2024 stating the reason for the postponement was lack of rider availability. The members of the SCB viewed the evidence given where the King’s Lynn team were missing two riders namely Tobiasz Musielak who is currently absence with a speedway injury and Patryk Wojdylo who was competing in a National Championship in Poland. With the facilities available to the King’s Lynn team and three Premiership Teams not competing on the 9th May as well as a host of top-class Championship riders available the SCB supported the BSP Ltd Directors view that this fixture should have gone ahead. Due to the actions of the King’s Lynn Promotion by postponing this fixture when facilities were available, and also already being under investigation due to the fixture being postponed in May 2023, this Breached the following SCB Regulation – 017.2 Breach of Rules f) Any proceedings or acts prejudicial to the interests of any part or body of the ACU, SCB, BSP Ltd or of the sport of motorcycling generally. Due to this breach the King’s Lynn Club have been issued with the following penalty as per SCB Regulation 017.3 Penalties – Point Penalty – The Removal of two (2) ROWE Motor Oil Premiership League Points. No further comment from the SCB on this matter will be made.
  2. You better get used to all tv being streamed. From what I have read it will all come down a wire of some sort in the not too far distant future! See https://www.ofcom.org.uk/consultations-and-statements/category-1/future-of-tv-distribution#:~:text=The average person spent 25,2034 and 27% by 2040.
  3. If its not restaged its not fair on the riders of both teams who will all miss a pay day through no fault of their own! A better punishment might be a points deduction at tbe end of tbe regular season.
  4. I think this statement on the Lion's website makes interesting reading! LEICESTER’S next ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture at King’s Lynn this Thursday (May 9) has been postponed. The match has been called off by the home club due to the fact that Polish Championship qualifiers have been arranged for the same day. This would have taken Tobiasz Musielak and Patryk Wojdylo out of the meeting against the Watling JCB Lions, although the former is now on the injury list. King’s Lynn have proposed Monday July 1 as a provisional re-staging date, and we will update supporters if and when this date is confirmed. The club will make no further comment at this stage on the circumstances surrounding the postponement. The Lions are now in a break from action and will resume their campaign on Thursday May 23 when they travel to Sheffield, but before then the Lion Cubs are in action at home to Belle Vue this Sunday (May 12, 3pm).
  5. Very pleased to see the Gladiators win their first home meeting of the season! Who needs Garrity anyway?
  6. How has the weather been in the Perry Barr area this morning?
  7. He is at Scunthorpe with the Gladiators tonight. It's a track he knows well so it will be interesting to see how he goes.
  8. I'm hoping we see an improvement from Joe when he has done a few Championship meetings with Plymouth and perhaps gained some confidence. It's a shame that Plymouth haven't been able to have any meetings so far because of the weather.
  9. There are some clips from the Leicester v Ipswich match on the Lions Facebook page. There are least two cameras in use.
  10. I have a holiday caravan in South Devon and, as well as following my home town team, I have followed Exeter Falcons and the Plymouth Devils/Gladiators as well as the Somerset Rebels. At the Arena I have seen some cracking meetings over the years including those when Plymouth started up again and were in speedways third tier. The track might be a bit tricky but I've seen some spectacular overtaking and there's no time for the riders to get strung out like I saw at the NSS on Monday. If anyone reading this is having a holiday in South Devon or North Cornwall this summer, I urge you to go to the Coliseum for a good night's speedway. There's plenty of free parking in the Coypool Park and Ride Car Park and plenty of seating!
  11. I don't know where you live Lenny but at 6pm and 4 miles from the track it was raining heavily. Half an hour later it was still raining heavily in South Leicester. It was still drizzling at 9.pm.
  12. I suppose I really ought to start a 2024 thread! The Lions pricing structure for next season includes season ticket holders getting a discount off admission to Cubs meetings. I'm really pleased that this means the Cubs will be riding again in 2024.
  13. From the Lion's website:- LEICESTER co-promoter and team manager Stewart Dickosn is representing the club at this week’s AGM of British Speedway Promoters’ Ltd. Dickson has flown to Tenerife for the three-day gathering which gets underway on Wednesday November 15 and will see plans for the 2024 season rubber-stamped. News from the AGM is expected at the end of the week, and the Lions themselves expect to be in a position shortly to confirm their own club structure and intentions for next year.
  14. I'll go.along with that! Anything to stop Poole getting another trophy!
