  1. There's been no appreciable rain for over a week in Leicester. Bring your goggles!
  2. Sam's Grandad, Alf, rode for Leicester Hunters from 1957 until 1961. According to Alan Jones' book on the Leicester Hunters Era he was the anchorman between reserves and heat leaders. He rode for England five times during their winter tour of Australia in 1958/59.
  3. Funnily enough the land that the Leicester track is built on was part of the City Council's Sewage Farm and is contaminated by heavy metals contained in the effluent. Thats why there are no houses on it. So you could say Beaumont Park is a brownfield site!
  4. Are there two Drew Kemps? According to the Star the one who rides for Leicester was born in Germany and the one who rides for Berwick was born in England.
  5. They could give supporters the choice of paying on the gate or buying on line in advance and paying an additional booking fee.
  6. Some people might not be prepared to stand in a 200 yard or longer queue!
  7. Does anyone know when the tickets will go on sale?
  8. For the anoraks amongst you, next seasons regulations have now been published on the SCB web site. https://scbgb.co.uk/regulations
  9. I will need to check but I think it was a planning condition.
  10. I suspect that the City Council placed some restrictions on how high the lighting levels could be when the track was built.
  11. Please see this link https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wsra-ndl/2025-ndl-ndt-rider-eligibility/ It made my head hurt!
  12. I've read somewhere that a new stadium sponsor has been found.
  13. I think it's fair to expect some improvement from Sam next season as well as the three you mention.
  14. I can't think of anyone else whose ridden for the Lion's and hasn't been back on these shores for a number of years!
  15. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/uGLNQYNUmibFv3JK/
  16. I think the pits were designed like they are to reduce the noise emissions from bikes revving up. It was something to do with the planning permission.
  17. According to the Lion's FB page, Pidcocks Motorcycles have gone bust. I don't know how that will affect Lion's team building plans!
  18. You need to bear in mind that, if Lions hadn't retained Hagon, they would have had sixth pick. Who would you have chosen?
