Lakeside V King's Lynn 03/04/15
Wiseguy replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I attended today, not a supporter of either, but do favour lakeside because of my location, have to say having watched the sky match on Tuesday the turnaround was amazing, Lawson,Kennett and Nielson completely different riders at home, NKI still looked a class act despite his last in heat 15, Schlein his usual battlnig self, Eliis and Kerr looked off the pace if i Was a Lakeside diehard i would be concerned by having Beck as a heat leader, considering his average is above Schlien's , not as good as Davey Watt imo, but enjoyed the day out -
Seems crazy to me. Imo Eastbourne are stronger for greenwood replacing mason, but kings are far weaker losing their only real established heat leader This could be a mauling i fear

can anyone confirm Are eurosport showing Swedish league speedway this year? Other than the odd elite league match, are sky showing any speedway this year? will there be any streams for polish leagues now that wiziwig has gone and if so, what would be the best sites? Will there be any streams from betting sites? I obviously just want to watch as much speedway as possible and am scared I will miss stuff, had it all sorted last season but a lot seems to have changed Thanks in advance

It needs an overhaul for sure, maybe they should get a forward thinking promotions guy, look whats happened in darts the last few years, a complete change around from the old stereotypes of what it was in the 80's Most speedway tracks still playing the same music they were in the 80's IMO each rider should choose their walk on/ ride on music, this tune becomes synonymous with this rider and one by one they make there way to the tapes it gives the fans time to cheer their favourite rider or boo the opposition rider they dislike, all light hearted of course as soon as one heat finishes and the track is clear, the riders for the next heat should start to come out, the first rider has 1 minute to get to the tapes while their chosen song is blaring out, then the second rider does the same, repeat til all four riders are out should be no more than 5 minutes between heats unless there has been an accident

My top 3, in order of how I think they'll finish 1 Cradley, can see them blowing away most teams at home again, and maybe only dropping a few away points 2 Mildenhall, look quite strong at 1-5, and think they will have a great year, wish Kent had kept hold of Connor Coles 3 hardest to predict for me, one of Kent, Eastbourne or Stoke, all could win against the top teams at home, away points are priceless to get amongst the top 3, would love it to be Kent, but think it will probably be Eastbourne

Ben riding for the guest team as well So this is in no way related to the mysterious post regarding the whereabouts of Danny Ayres further up the thread??
-
Any chance you could explain, in very basic terms, what that is and does. I am assuming it is something you can watch live streaming via your telly, but I am a technology buffoon, is it an easy thing to use?

Why, has he gone AWOL? where did you hear this
-
Green featured heavily in the old Exeter race colours, never seemed to be a problem I remember quite a few riders having green leathers, gloves or at least having their sponsors green logo on
-
You would eliminate the long push home for the point by a fallen rider in a 3 rider race, then where would we be
-
They could possibly do that, but that would still leave a free week in june and there is already a reserved date in the fixture list around then, and the rye away fixture in the N.T is not until August
-
U.S.A Dreamream fixture has been pulled due to visa issues so looks like Kent have a free week. Maybe a challenge could be set up
-
I'll start you off with Cradley as they are featured in this weeks speedway star Erik Gundersen 10;23 Simon Wigg 8;86 Lance King 8:74 Jan o Pedersen 6;78 Peter Ravn 7;97 Alan Graham 8;69 Phil Collins 7;98 Some Team Also rode ; Simon Cross, Stan Bear, Ian Barney, Andy Reid, David Cheshire, Andy Buck

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
Wiseguy replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Eric Gunderson, some riders can make any track look like their home track -
I remember my first visits to a speedway track when I was a kid and the majority of supporters were male 40+ The fact that most still are is hardly a revelation, My dad took myself and my sister I now take my 2 kids Unless we all try and make a small difference, It will of course eventually lose its fanbase, unless a new generation are introduced A lot of males/females 40+ will either have children or grandchildren and it down to all of us to try and encourage younger family members to attend The fact I can take my 2 kids with me to Kent and it costs £12 for the 3 of us should be a massive selling point, where else can you have a decent family afternoon/evening out for that price I have to say I'm amazed so many clubs are still running really, considering we were down to less than 20 teams in the mid 90's
-
I was four, early 1979, Exeter, and dispite it being the loudest thing I had ever heard, I fell asleep in my fathers arms after about heat 10 I still remember it vividly, didn't go again until the following season when i became a real fan, and would cut out all the reports in the local paper the express and echo and put them in a scrapbook Happy Days
-
I believe it should go all around the country, regardless of the track Would love to have seen a final at the old County Ground but would never have happened because too many riders "didn't like it" Good on Leicester, hope they put on a good show
-
Nice one, thanks, is it actual racing or just practice?
-
Can I ask. What and where is happening on March 1st I understand there is a training day organised, is it Iwade or central park Thanks
