  1. From what i am aware the major supplier of silencers across the UK are all marked and marketed as 2015 KING silencer. Even purchasing one this season will see it stamped 2015 so are you saying that everyone is being slightly tucked up and after the 2020 everyone will need to replace everything they own?
  2. Craziness. Rider of the year not just at Scunny but challenging for title throughout the league. If he isn't signed up by now i doubt he will be back, he is a rider that needs to feel the love. Ive an inkling that he could be headed Redcar bound and he loves it there so if the Scorps lose out.
  3. Any side with Ruddick in is barmy, barely ridden all season due to "concussion effects". Ully & Andersen out, Bacon & Ayres in. With reductions etc could probably swap Ruddick for Kinsley and have a very tasty side.
  4. With the best will in the world i can't see many from the 2019 side being included with the possible exception of Gilkes (and even he has made noises about wanting to be racing nearer home). Kemp will be better off elsewhere, Jenkins needs to get his confidence up at NL & Rowe has signed elsewhere. Kennett feels likely, Nicholls would be a great signing and Morley feels like a clever one. The rest who knows maybe even one from the hot list who everyone wants? I just hope the big international is Lasse Bjerre lol
  5. The sentiment is certainly right and it runs throughout the sport. Ive lost count of times that NL clubs have come out and stated that there are not any suitable riders around to fill a reserve berth, these teams are generally ones who do nothing to assist with future rider development or offer any chances to emerging riders. Fortunately for the Thompsons they have Leicester who will move into any league to back them and Palin has good connections with both Scunthorpe & Belle Vue but there will always be others who fall through the cracks as they are in bigger need of guidance and mental assistance than bike ability.
  6. Even in the current MSDL setup there are expenses and more paid to riders and the suggestions here are to get NL level riders to turn up and race for nothing / a can of fuel sadly its dream on. Development league riders break their own banks repeatedly due to the love of riding and the outside chance that they might make the grade and land a league spot. Many also do it because there is no fee to ride and it is free laps (less the initial setup fees, bike fuel, oil, engine wear& tear, diesel, van running costs and time off work). If it was pay to ride with a big risk of the event getting cancelled the numbers would be non existent. The refs deem 22 heats a double header and require double the fees hence only 1 x 6 heat 2nd halves can be run and even then they are often not overseen to the same standards as expected in a main match.
  7. Obvious choice and would be excellent if it were to happen, that said there are a lot of hoops to jump through before getting a track signed off.
  8. Possibly/probably. Always a tricky one as raising the profile of the series is always a positive but Waj would likely be better for the actual product on show?
  9. Also is the 4 years of silencer homogenisation not up so there could be potential new models added to the usable list?
  10. In fairness if the BSPA looked at supporting the needs ( of all clubs rather than the big / more affluent few then maybe Buxton and alike would still be going i don't mean financially but by helping and maintaining rules so that all clubs can compete). As for the GTR fiasco all those involved should have one tied to each ankle and thrown into the nearest lake.
  11. Feel for Waj, personally i feel he would offer more to the competition not just this season but over the coming years than Jonasson.
  12. Certainly going for the 'big names' in 2020 and rightly so. Early showings suggest that Hansen could be quite a threat in the competition, THJ had better put more money into his bikes than he did when riding a Poole but will mix it and of course Shanes fully deserves a WC. Hard on a couple who missed out perhaps but much better to have riders at the sahrp end than those who would be filling the minor placings.
  13. There is no reason why all PL clubs don't host an MSDL side but only Poole & Swindon do (and both of those only started this year). PL clubs don't care about lower tiers as proven over and over again unless its a benefit to them. Add in 4 rider sides would either expose the gulf in riders further or set the standard higher for riders to break into the sport. Plus its a hell of a rush for the riders involved. Have you ever seen the effort 2nd half riders go through to get 3 rides in 6 races so to take it up to 4 rides in 8 would mean big gaps or some very unhappy riders.
  14. Precisely. In comparison a Grasstrack will attract good crowds with decent weather and that is basically a field, some rope & posts plus a burger van and mobile bar if lucky. However you go and will often find a nice happy family vibe, kids running around and a variety of standards on track with limited complaints. It doesn't pretend to be anything its not and in fact when ever any club tries to upgrade a little it loses some of its charm. In a world where retro food and drink is on the up, peaky blinders and downton abbey are the top tv shows speedway stands a chance of going forward by taking a tiny step backwards
  15. Maybe speedway needs to stop trying to update itself (mostly because its struggling and constantly 15 years behind any trend) and embrace the fact that its dated or "retro and chic". Tea shops are making a comeback, Gin is massively on the rise so rather than over complicate things why not let the sport run as it was in the 70's & 80's. Don't make the stadia updated let them be shabby chic and embrace it you might develop a new hipster trendy youthful following. Maybe Len Silvers braces aren't dated but ahead of the game?
  16. Blimey that list is depressing. If suggestions are that Huckenbeck & Hartel returning will make things better we are in a far bigger mess than first feared.
  17. plenty of old school things have made remarkable comebacks like real ale, cider & gin as you stated so watch out Sherry will be next....you heard it here first
  18. Hopefully it goes ahead although more likely (hopefully) to be a team of Brits who have wintered in AUS rather than a selected squad sent over at additional cost.
  19. A thoughtful parent who has createdfurther opportunities for his child which will been entitled to dual nationality/freedom of movement between AUS & the UK yeah those true colours are disgusting.......sometimes there is a whole lot more to life than speedway.
  20. Just to get one final opportunity to say a huge thanks to Mimmo for all the updates and stat work he does over the season. You are a legend and fingers crossed for a dev team out of the Adrian Flux again soon.
  21. What an absolute crock of ****. Rules always used to be that if a home team failed to host a meeting twice the away side got the points. The shambles that Exeter actually made riders travel when they didn't even have a team (one rider travelled from Kent) just out of desperation to get 2nd in a development league table is truely shocking. Yes those enthusiasts who run the sides want success but the desperation shown by the inner circle is pretty dire, Exeter spouting off despite being unable to complete 6 home fixtures and of course dodgy Rogers awarding his mates team a point to ensure the finish runners up. Congratulations gents, you may have driven several riders & sides out of the league.
  22. I don't debate that he is a rider that should be looking at a NL spot either 20 or 21 seasons and i think he is probably capable of getting one on merit, its just a poisoned chalice sometimes if you have "connections" within the club you ride for.
  23. Best way to make sure Sam gets a ride next year.
  24. Nights racing? 8 heats and a final plus a failed 2nd half i hope that it was reduced entry as that is hardly value for money. Hopefully the top end talent on show will be enough to draw the crowds next season.
