Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup and isnt that what the GP Qualifier wild card is about - giving someone another chance who was already in the qualifiers but had a bad meeting, not someone who was over the alcohol limit

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup The consequences of a ban from any sport can be far more reaching then the actual length of the ban. It looks like Darcy has landed on his feet running, if his initial results since returning carry on. He could have well been out of sorts and not performing very well, and depending on an athletes age and bodily "make up" they may never make it back to the level they were or achieve their full potential that was there before. Tough, thats a high price to pay, but they should have thought it out before the misdeamor took place. Same with Darcy. Its disappointing to see a good racer not in the GP's, but ethics cannot be weakened just to bring someone in before others who have played by the rules.

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup If thats the case, why suspend/ban him in the first place. And lets all agree to £1 be put on every GP seat sold and the money raised go to Emil who says he cant afford to enter the GPs. Nonsense. If anyone wants to "play" the game, they need to abide by the rules. Anyone falling foul of the rules should have fully thought out the consequences before hand - fully thought out

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup and if he has to work and earn a GP position on the track, then if he actually wins the world championship that year he is less likely to be criticised by the majority

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup For me he's got to do it the hard way - like others have. Dont care if he has "served his time", it was all his fault and no one elses.

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup I agree with TWK, he is needed in the GP series, but IMO he has to qualify, any gifting of a wild card would be wrong

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Your reap what you sow, time again this is proved true. Apparantly the fans remembering an incident in 2009 where he (and Chris Holder) trod on the clubs scarf, now they telling him they dont want him. They may change if he continues to score heavily like he did yesterday. I wonder, though, if he gets a bad reaction to his goings on 11 months ago in Latvia. AND I wonder what the reaction would be if Darcy was given a permanent GP wild card for 2016. As a racer, he is definately needed in the GP (like Emil) but I wonder how fans would react if he was picked.

Latvian Gp 18 JulyOveFundinFan replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Doyle should be mature enough to realise 2 points i the bag is better then risking an exclusion to try for that extra point and fail. Yes I know its a competition where points accumulate through the season but at the end of that race 2 points further behind then he could have been. Bit silly really. But that race Holder was last Doyle won it. The presenter said every race there was an Aussie in it an Aussie won. Not checked, but presume AT THE TIME HE SAID IT it was a true statement. ps posting "late" cause was out last night and watched the meeting at 12 midnight, finished at 2am and went to bed.

I would say Chris was on the Gehard in the race he won (4th) and his fiith race in last place on the muddy track.

Latvian Gp 18 JulyOveFundinFan replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup A fairly good race track if I remember correctly. Be good to see if some of this years GP disappointments get into the grove ie AJ, Batch, KK

from what the commentator said at the Euro Championship last week, he is riding a Jawa engined machine and its not giving the characteristics Gregori is looking for.

2016 Sgp Swc Calendar & Info'sOveFundinFan replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Oh dear. it means less then a week to lay and prepare the track for racing! Back to the good old system aka Warsaw and not Cardiff 2015. Is this going to be a repeat of Warsaw.

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup I'm giving up at looking at this thread - its not a "Darcy Ward" thread any more and I aint interested in the argument going on at the moment. The thread has been well and truly hijacked and if there are any mods on here they have allowed it.

Darcy WardOveFundinFan replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup I'm pretty sure the thread title started by the original poster is "Darcy Ward", it seems most posts are now far removed. How is Darcy going on? Has he made any statements yet? When does he start riding? Any other news about DARCY

Immediately I said Gollobs fault, then the announcers were saying all four back and I was thinking "What!" It used to be you go straight for the first 20 yeards or something like (cant remember) Obviously Gollob didnt go straight - right from the off he was on his way out wards towards Nicki. Correct decision. Overall not a brilliant meeting. i was looking for any rider that could be a permanent GP wildcard next year, and apart from the obvious (Emil) I couldnt really see one. No one else struck me as being outstanding with consistancy.

If it was to be an engine that didnt need tuning that would mean it was already tuned as high as it can go. Thats not what I understod about the engine. I understood the same as Alan_Jones, it was an engine that needs less servicing ie it would be good for 20 hours racing before major work.

Is It Time To Re-introduce Tape Touching?OveFundinFan replied to IainB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions The amount of restarts is not too much a problem, its the time the riders are allowed to get back to the tapes which I have a problem with. Get them straight back to the tapes, no stopping at pit gates and mechanics coming out to adjust chains and clutches etc, straight back to the tapes and on with the show.

Danish Gp In Horsens 08.08OveFundinFan replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Cardiff price for 2016 - cheapest @ £25, then @ £30. OAP's @ £19 (whopee for me)

Absolutely no problem you asking, but you may have an opinion yourself as to why he was so slow, and it would be nice of you to share it if you have. No big deal.
-
Hi Gavan My post just above yours was aimed at Odds On. He originated the thread by asking the question "Why do you think he was so poor and slow at Cardiff ?" I was asking Odds On what his thoughts were. I would love to have seen live the GP at Cardiff that he, CH, won. i have seen the You Tube version and it looked a brilliant pass.

Future Of Scunthorpe ScorpionsOveFundinFan replied to lucifer sam's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway The original post stated “Our supporters are fantastic, but the bottom line is that we simply don’t have enough of them. Last year, I informed our fans that we needed around 100 more people through the gate a week. This year, the situation has worsened, maybe because we haven’t been successful on track. The Bank Holiday crowds have been OK, but our Friday night attendances have been very poor. We no longer need another 100 fans a week, we now need another 200".

Why do you think he was so poor and slow at Cardiff? You must have some thoughts.
