  1. For me it would be 30 Zloty, about £5 Do you think I could get there using my bus pass ?
  2. I have not finished it yet, up to chap 20, but I find it rivetting, and like Graham Brodie as quoted said in the last post - at £4.99 this e-book is a bargain. Truly is. Interesting to read what was going on in the background of some of these meetings in the 1980's - part of the time I was away from speedway.
  3. Have I got the currency conversion right - 50 zloty is about £8.40 ?
  4. Yes, the pass Doyle did on AJ was not only clean but a very brave move.
  5. Speedwaysliders - Equally if you trying to team ride and slow down to wait for you mate you can expect at least one other rider to make a pass on you. In this case it was one on the outside and one on the in. Difficult to try to team ride on the first back straight you come to, and it didnt work out for Doyle and his team mate. As for the team manage approaching Nicki. if he went over the yellow line then he is guilty of provocation, and if he spat at Nicki then he deserves a harsher penalty, thats disgusting and a potential health hazard that cannot be ignored.
  6. I do prefer the GP series but this year particularly I been thinking it might be too much in a 12 GP series. I am thinking a 6 series would be better. Possibly Britain, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Aussie/NZ, Czech/Italy/Slovenia Possibly take top 5 from previous years, top 3 from Euro Champs, and early season have 64 rider qualifier - top 8 from 4 meeting go to 2 semis, top 8 into a final, top 4 to GP's, 3 permanent wildcards, and 1 GP meeting wild card. That gives plenty chances for the top riders to qualify one way other another. Obviously GP season would start a bit later. I wouldnt want to go to a one off world final, as good as Wembley was, perhaps more so for the atmosphere that stadium created in the years a good crowd was the order of the day. Every winner of the one off world championship was worthy, but too many times an engine failure, meeting fall, injury pre world final stopped some from being a worthy champ.
  7. Nicki should not be excluded for the first incident with Doyle, but the video stopped short of how it went with the leader at the time who I presumed went down as well. I would have liked to have seen that. I know this has been discussed on another thread, but I do think there are more crashes now then "when I was a lad" back in the 60's and 70's. Somethings got to change soon before another really bad injury.
  8. Can someone in the know put a link to the video please, then we can all have a look. If what I read is correct, it is good the Polish authorities are trying to get rid of the "professional falls". Start with a close eye on Kildermand.
  9. Teterow should be getting some support from forum members who take the view thee track comes first then spectator comforts second. Sounds like Teterow is fairly basic on facilities so as long its a good race track then it should get some "yes's".
  10. I wouldnt be in a rush wishing some of the young hopefuls into full time GP series. Doyle is no youngster, hes been around the tracks a few years, but even he says being in the GPs full time has been a shock and its like being an apprentice all over again. You get the youngsters being given a one off GP wlld card and they may do well in that one meeting, even whip the pants of the full time GP stars (and we have seen it), but doing that once is a lot different to do a 12 meeting GP series - which is what Doyle was alluding to. Bikes constantly in top tune, the physical stamina needed, and also the psychological mind-set. Takes some doing and most younger ones will not be up to the challenge. Martin Vaculic dropped out after 2013 wanting a few years more experience. He won a GP 2012 and a lot thought he would set the GPs on fire in 2013, but he didnt. Of course there are exceptions.... Emil for one, and Janowski seems to have an old head on young shoulders and he is learning fast, but not everyone are like him. Zmarzik has won a GP at at a tender age, but I dont think he could perform at that level a whole season, maybe 10% of a GP season. You cant win GP rounds just by gating alone. Give the youngsters the experience that a few more years and many of them will blossom into top riders, no doubt.
  11. Track very much like Cardiff and racing there didnt warm up till later in the meeting, just like tonight Like Cardiff the track didnt seem to cut up tonight - moral is:- prepare the track more then a week before the meeting. PK is getting to be a big "yawn", falling off at a whim and fancy. Time to start excluding him when he is clearly the problem most of the time. PK should have been excluded and not Tai. Shame Doyle didnt make the final, could have been his night. Meeting was run pretty slick overall, obviously the falls took its toll on time but that cant be helped. Looks like as long as Tai doesnt suffer any injuries (just keep clear of PK would help) then it could be his this year. I was surprised Nicki didnt perform too well tonight - seems to have lost some of his fire.
  12. Seems more speedway riders make the top in LT then LT riders making the top in speedway.
  13. Another one gone. I just about remember him, he must have been towards the end of his riding career when I started going regularly as a teenager (early sixties) though Mum and Dad used to talk about him.
  14. Pretty good quality action movie for the year. Thanks Gustix
  15. It LOOKS nicely prepared stadium, I presume the blue seats in the foreground are the temporary seats because I understand they extending the track into that area.
  16. Two great races there Bream. Thanks for that. Whilst Emil is always "there", I just wish Greg Laguta was more consistent.
  17. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/4340/kerr-stable-after-fours-crash
  18. 1,2,3 Lindback, AJ, Peter Ljung current champion THJ on 6 points
  19. I am up to chapter 6 so working through it nicely. Good reading so far.
  20. Dont know Got the info off speedwaygp.com re Antonio Lindback and it says tonight the final at Hallstavik
  21. I understand tonight is the Swedish Championship Final. Now this should be very interesting. The way things stand at the moment no Swedish rider will be in the top 8 of the 2015 GP's so no automatic qualifier for next year. Ok Lindback may get a top 3 in the GP Challenge qualifier final but nothing is a cert. So, tonight should be a good battle, current champio THJ, AJ, Lindback, Lindgren and I suppose you cant rule out Peter Ljung Look forward to hearing of the results.
  22. Prices in city centre hotels rise whenever there is a big event taking place in the city - Manchester is the same, and if there was a "big" meeting at Belle Vue ie a GP, then you will find the hotel prices in city centre and a few miles around the stadium will rise a lot. There is an indoor arena in Manchester (not big enough for speedway) and when top artists are on hotel prices will rise, inevitable. I would imagine this applies to the likes of Amsterdam too (for DutchGrasstrack)
  23. I think you could be right there Pinstripe. I just think that Sweden will get 2 riders, if non qualify this year and Lindback carries on good form he could get a wild card (if he doesnt qualify through gp qualifier), but who would get a 2nd wild card?
  24. I never saw David H. ride, but I wish him well for the future, it sounds like ha gave racing his all and ine cant do any more. He says he could write a book from his experiences, it sounds like it would make an interesting story.
