Embarrassing? The only mistake I can recollect was not penalising Janowski for moving at the tapes that gave him a win. -
I can see what authorities are trying to do in creating some interest pre the actual racing, but it’s not really working so far. in F1 though, a lot is put on being fastest qualifier - it puts you on pole position but F1 is much different to speedway. What F1 needs is to definitely to go to “draw out of a hat” to to determine grid position. Now that would create potential race action, seeing top cars/drivers toward the back of the grid randomly - but it will never happen, the prancing horse HAS to be near the front.

I finding the qualifying system more interesting at the third gap then the first. Obviously the slowest in practice going first was ditched by round 2, that was needed. Now riders are being interviewed after they selected their rider number, so now we getting into the riders mind as to why they chose that number. Only an ardent speedway fan would appreciate the whole qualifying system though, I think. To someone channel flicking it would look very boring and not particularly turn people on to the sport, but I don’t think that is the purpose.

Have you phoned your bank to cancel it? If you dont and it gets used the bank may not compensate you due to irresponsibility. -
Could see the energy in Woffys crash the way the fence deflected. Didn’t look good at all. He has already lot of damage to collarbones, that right one in particular. New name on the world championship trophy, probably at least 2 Poles in the running. Looks like Robert Lambert in the series for rest of season one way or another. Whose next in line after Robert? Is it Fricke?

I was told on this thread last Saturday afternoon by CB252 that any Pole would rather see their team win their league championship then a Pole winning the world championship. So irrespective if with 2or3 GP’s to go Poles are 1,2,3 it should not affect Friday night fixtures. -

I remember Sayfutdinov being trapped by Medinski in a similar situation to Fricke/Harris and look how it turned out for Emil. I dont think he been the same since. -

Not malicious, but certainly careless...... he should have known Harris was close, he had only just undertook him then went too wide. Spoilt his own score and that of Harris. -

All good experience for Robert. Just think the 2 best under 21's, Smektala and Drabik are not getting the same opportunity at this time. Drabik may well get a call to be no16 at a future Polish gp this year, matching Smektala, but Robert will have at least 23 on the trot. -

Muller definitely was a world class speedway rider, and with a very professional approach. Obviously more top class in the world of long track, but defo no slouch at speedway. Obviously he grabbed an opportunity when the world speedway final was in Germany, rose to the occasion and having a partisan crowd he pulled off what many an aspiring speedway rider has failed to do. Got to give respect where its due. -

I don’t disagree really with what you said. I was “singling” Lambert out because he is the inexperienced one in the field, and British. I was saying he needs to learn to change lines, he didn’t in Warsaw and that was more of a passing track then Krsko. I stick by what I said he needs faster motors, his engines was slower in Warsaw, hence the queue behind him particularly in one race. All due to inexperience which he will gain as time goes by. -

Zmarzlik took the bull by the horns and went for it, some others to a lesser extent. The gaters, Laguta, Madsen, and Dudek, dont seem to want to race. You can see them holding back when they behind and they catch someone else by the end of the straight., Laguta and Madsen more so then Dudek. Lambert started off ok, but he going to have to learn to change lines as a meeting progresses, like others do. Certainly his bikes are not fast enough, last meet in Warsaw he was line hugging and a queue behind him, last night when behind he just lacked speed to make up much ground. Nice to see Emil not only mixing it but scoring, not back to how he was pre his GP "retirement", but getting better. Hope Prague will bring better racing, but its not a cert. -

I was impressed with the smooth running of the meeting. Didn’t see a lot of spinner work by mechanics on the track, nor excessive gardening. No fallers. And 23 races in well under 3 hours. Like others said, the ref missed some serious movement at the starts including Lambert, and obvious movement by Madsen in the final. Whilst there was some passing, there was little passing the the gaters ie Laguna, Madsen and Dudek. An average meeting. -

Might be giving Polish speedway maximum exposure but does it produce world champions. Top Polish riders have been in the world championship finals since mid-late 50's, thats over 60 years but they only produced 2 world champions - and one of them whilst he rode very well on the day he won it, he didnt do much else on the world scene. What do you remember the most - who was world champion or who won a Polish domestic meeting.? -
I posted this on another thread but thought it was fitting for it to be here as well. I think Polish speedway authorites are spoiling speedway. There should be no top class speedway the night before a world GP anywhere. Riders deserve to be able to put in the max effort to win the world championship, the pinnacle of any sport.

So, we have Dudek probably best gater in the world, Laguta up there with him, add Madsen and Hancock - stick them in the same race and it could be a real bun fight in the first corner. I think Polish speedway authorites are spoiling speedway. There should be no top class speedway the night before a world GP anywhere. That looks a tough round. How many go through, is it 8 ?? -
G Laguta missed 2 years is it. Sees his brother in the GPs, if he has any career aspirations then surely he wants to be in the GP too. I thik he is a better racer then Artum (bit of a gater) so I hope he does well this year. Is Gregori in the SGP qualifiers, he should be so he can gain a place in next years GPs.
