  1. What happened in the run off with Vaculik and Fricke ? Overall result - better the devil you know. NKI and Zagar will perform better over a GP season then Asperger and Locatev
  2. I am sure a wild card will be offered to Greg but will he want it. He has discovered that family comes before anything else. Add the fact he is now 47 is it, has he anything to prove? - No. would he like to win another world championship? - Yes. Is he likely to win another world championship ? - No. Time to retire gracefully from the sport and just enjoy family life.
  3. Testing it out for the Challenge meeting on Saturday no doubt.
  4. and once you get them home.... you need a strong attic floor to store them.
  5. If you look at my avatar, Ove Fundin in Belle Vue colours so 1967, he was still wearing a scarf around his mouth
  6. and I would bounce a lot when I fall (which would be frequently no doubt)
  7. Thats about the weight of my left leg !!!! (well not really true, but I weigh double the 8 stone)
  8. Probably his only strong chance of getting a GP slot for next year. I think he has been outclassed this year (as GP season reserves) by Fricke. There again, is anyone outside of the GP's setting the tracks on fire to warrant a pick 8 qualifiers + 3 from Challenge + Tai + Gregg....... that leaves 2 spots, Fricke for one. All depends who qualifies from Challenge, if a rider qualifies from Challenge then finishes in top 8 gives another spot available. So maybe chance for Lambert, but not a cert IMO. Another year wait for Lambert I think would do him good.
  9. That’s why it would be interesting to know what they talking about. i keep looking is he getting his wheels in line sooner, but if he is I can’t spot it.
  10. Hi Alex - I would be interested in knowing more "lots of talk how, but that's for another day".
  11. Problem with that is the Challenge qualifiers and final is usually held well before the final GP standings are known. Vaculik is not pretty much guaranteed to finish top 8. There are 4 rounds left, an injury in his next meeting could easily take him out of the GPS, and it doesn’t take missing many meetings to take a rider out of top 8....... Tai only missed two meetings and look how far behind he is. And surely we do want to see the top 15 in the GP series. That may include 9-15 finishers being in contention. Couple years ago the cry was give Malik and Lebedevs a chance. Sure they were doing ok then, Lebedevs was Euro champion 2017. But what are they doing now, good riders yes, capable of beating the best on a good day, but their good days are not consistent enough to be classed as GP riders, IMO..
  12. Just watched a replay of the final. What a race. Fearless Freddie was amazing, but not far behind in the amazing stakes were Madsen (carrying a massive injury but you wouldnt know it unless told) and Janowski. Not cared too much for Madsen in the past, too much of a gater I thought, but he proved me wrong this year. Yes he can gate, but he chases and goes for gaps and often succeeds. Magic is just magic at times. The quiet one, just does his stuff efficiently, sneaks under my radar many times. Must mention Max Fricke..... what a trier. He is hungry for GP success..... and its going to come, and when it does it could open the flood gates. His crash last night was pretty horrid, but he come back, obviously hurting. I hope he is in the series next year one way or another. Woffinden is assured of a pick for next year. Fair do's to him for riding, but he riding safely and thats ok. He keeping in touch with the opposition in the best way..... on the track. Gives him a chance to do a bit of bike testing as well, and he is clever enough to have thought of that. I enjoy his commentaries as well. Bit of a changed character to a few years ago when he was swearing a lot when interviewed. That had to stop and it has.
  13. Would like to see Fricke get through - he put so much into his opportunity in this years GP's he deserves qualification, if he doesnt qualify he should get a pick for next year but thats less certain. ALso Vaculik - if he keeps up his GP season he will be in anyway, but just in case of injuries he needs a banker. He should also get a pic for next year if injured between now and end of season, but thats not a cert. NKI and Zagar are always triers, would love to see them consistently on good form - both racers. Mikel Mikelsen - think was runner up under 21 world championship few years ago (5 or 6?). A slow burner who seems to be hotting up. I would not be upset if he qualified.
  14. Another good meeting though rubbish first few heats as is common. I reckon Madsen would never have thought he would increase his lead from 0 to 6, more due to poor performance (relative) from Zmarzlik, Emil, and Vasulic. He was there for damage limitation, but he rode very well and others didnt. Shame he didnt have the fuel to finish a race when he was assured 2 and maybe 3 points. He could have been 8 or 9 ahead. Good to see the 3 involved in the big smash of the night come out and win races afterwards, they sure will be hurting tomorrow, Madsen as well. Well done for Freddie getting the win, gives him a kickstart to make a challenge.
  15. To. Bigboaby and The Doctor.... both of you can stop the nonsense by simply ignoring each other. If either get a pm just delete without reading it. Why delete membership of this forum if you like being here just because another annoys you for a short while.... and that’s all it will be , a short while if you ignore each other. If you want a short answer to the above ......... grow up, the pair of you
  16. Yes I heard the stats re Mallila, so my post may not fit Mallila, nor Wroclaw a couple weeks ago where the racing was good from Heat 1..... but generally speaking something should be done. Either analyse whey, for instance, gate 1 at Mallila is so often the winning gate and do something to change it. Gates should be more even and racing from heat 1., that would be great.
  17. What would make gate selection by the rider even more less important would be if the nonsense of follow the leader for the first 3 or 4 races, usually the inside gates first and thats it. Its a good start to a meeting of such high calibre if you can bag 3 points in your first race. Why not put a few non GP riders out for at least 8 laps riding different lines particularly inside lines, to get a quicker racing line formed. That should even the gates out a bit.
  18. No, I find it entertaining. Hes found a future for after he retires thats for sure.
