So if these 3 would have qualified for next years GP series I reckon it could have been a very long series. its already been said, but couple years ago the shout was “we need new blood, put Milik and Lebedevs in the series”. Upon reflection, what would they have added. A full GP series I would imagine is tough. Few years ago Vaculik dropped out of the series, saying he will come back in a few years when he more experience. Now he is back......at what age...is he 27. Stick the youngsters in too soon and you not guaranteed entertainment as we like it. Madsen isn’t a youngster now, and he said he was too young last time. Same with Artur Laguna, too young before... he says that. -

Sorry, I read it as the British Final, as in what took place at BV few weeks ago. A swop of events if you like. I read it wrong. But there still may be a decrease in crowds at Cardiff if 2 GPS held in uk. Would all the Polish, Swedish, Danish etc visitors come twice to the UK? There are many UK supporters who say the trip to Cardiff is too far and too expensive. Would they still go.? I am sure the organisers have done their sums, but it would be good for a GP to be at BV, as exciting Cardiff can be the racing at BV should be better. -

I don’t think a British Final at Cardiff would pay its way - the costs would far out weigh the income. You do realise they put a temporary track into the Principality stadium which takes almost 2 weeks, and that 60,000 seater stadium needs paying for. Be lucky to get 8,000 at Cardiff for a British Final. -

Teterow speedway track is definitely NOT a long track circuit. The long track is VERY long and unusual even for a long track in that it has slight hills and right hand bends. The speedway track is next to it. All of us get info wrong sometimes, but that comment of yours is so way out. Go to google maps, type in “Teterow Speedway Germany” and you will see booths tracks. -
Ok, got it wrong, but there are still wild cards for 2020. Just that for next year wild cards are going to be tight. Tai (current world champ), Greg (record over many years and qualified for 2019), Doyle (world champ 2017 and nearly 2016) are worthy of consideration. Who else could be in for a wcard. Possibly Janowski, ALaguta, Kolodzei plus who ? Someone who would add value to a tough 10 GP series. who?

And where did Madsen qualify from ......... err..... the Challenge wasn’t it

Of course current GP riders should be allowed in the Challenge. It’s only top 8 in the GPS that are guaranteed a place the next year. It’s up to those riders outside of this years 15 to prove themselves worthy of a spot next year, and that means beating those 9-15. If they can’t do that it means they really in position 16 and downward. -

What happened in the run off with Vaculik and Fricke ? Overall result - better the devil you know. NKI and Zagar will perform better over a GP season then Asperger and Locatev -
I am sure a wild card will be offered to Greg but will he want it. He has discovered that family comes before anything else. Add the fact he is now 47 is it, has he anything to prove? - No. would he like to win another world championship? - Yes. Is he likely to win another world championship ? - No. Time to retire gracefully from the sport and just enjoy family life.

Probably his only strong chance of getting a GP slot for next year. I think he has been outclassed this year (as GP season reserves) by Fricke. There again, is anyone outside of the GP's setting the tracks on fire to warrant a pick 8 qualifiers + 3 from Challenge + Tai + Gregg....... that leaves 2 spots, Fricke for one. All depends who qualifies from Challenge, if a rider qualifies from Challenge then finishes in top 8 gives another spot available. So maybe chance for Lambert, but not a cert IMO. Another year wait for Lambert I think would do him good. -
Just when I thought it was all over.

Problem with that is the Challenge qualifiers and final is usually held well before the final GP standings are known. Vaculik is not pretty much guaranteed to finish top 8. There are 4 rounds left, an injury in his next meeting could easily take him out of the GPS, and it doesn’t take missing many meetings to take a rider out of top 8....... Tai only missed two meetings and look how far behind he is. And surely we do want to see the top 15 in the GP series. That may include 9-15 finishers being in contention. Couple years ago the cry was give Malik and Lebedevs a chance. Sure they were doing ok then, Lebedevs was Euro champion 2017. But what are they doing now, good riders yes, capable of beating the best on a good day, but their good days are not consistent enough to be classed as GP riders, IMO.. -

Col, see answers on page 1, post no 4 onward. -
Just watched a replay of the final. What a race. Fearless Freddie was amazing, but not far behind in the amazing stakes were Madsen (carrying a massive injury but you wouldnt know it unless told) and Janowski. Not cared too much for Madsen in the past, too much of a gater I thought, but he proved me wrong this year. Yes he can gate, but he chases and goes for gaps and often succeeds. Magic is just magic at times. The quiet one, just does his stuff efficiently, sneaks under my radar many times. Must mention Max Fricke..... what a trier. He is hungry for GP success..... and its going to come, and when it does it could open the flood gates. His crash last night was pretty horrid, but he come back, obviously hurting. I hope he is in the series next year one way or another. Woffinden is assured of a pick for next year. Fair do's to him for riding, but he riding safely and thats ok. He keeping in touch with the opposition in the best way..... on the track. Gives him a chance to do a bit of bike testing as well, and he is clever enough to have thought of that. I enjoy his commentaries as well. Bit of a changed character to a few years ago when he was swearing a lot when interviewed. That had to stop and it has.
