  1. The amount of greetin from Berwick fans about the tape exclusion from last year is mental. I had a heated exchange with someone on the night who claimed to know for certain from the 4th bend that VP had touched the tapes and not NM. Loons the lot of you.
  2. Didn’t realise Blobby beat me to the mature addition to the thread. Sorry not sorry. 😉
  3. Can’t argue with the result. A blow to lose Paco but I’m not even sure that with him taking his rides we’d have got near Redcar on aggregate. Solid top four but the tail is long. Grahn went backwards as the meeting progressed after a cracking opening win, Jordy needs to find more speed and I’d be surprised if Cluff is seen again despite him looking more on the pace (while still at the back) later in the meeting.
  4. I’m not sure anyone is blaming Cluff and Loftus for the defeat however if you are going to compete in the league a solid reserve pairing is an absolute must. One point between them even away from home isn’t enough. I’m surprised Dayle Wood wasn’t in the team this year tbh.
  5. Fair enough. If he doesn’t make the gate he’s not getting round the likes of Harris or Howarth though. I’d have more faith in Kye doing that.
  6. A draw felt like a fair result overall I think. The tac sub changed the momentum certainly - I understand why the rule is there but the speedway purest in me dislikes it. That Glasgow side once they’re all up and running will take some stopping. If Flint stays as fast a he looked tonight that could be the difference. For Edinburgh, bit of a mixed bag and I’d love to see Sedgmen’s stats for ht15 over the past few seasons - I never think he’s going to pass anyone. I’d have Kye or even Paco in there ahead of him in heats like that tonight. Cluff won’t get long based on that showing. Jordy looked tentative early but found some speed as did Grahn. Thompson should be a solid no.1 and score well in most meetings.
  7. I suspect this differs club to club and rider to rider but typically is it the club that finances the travel in instances like this?
  8. Thanks. Going to be near Landshut in the summer and hoping there might be a meeting.
  9. I mean this season. I think you knew that though.
  10. It’s feeling like a solid team assuming Kye and Paco are announced. Four riders who should have ambitions of being heat leaders in the championship.
  11. Agree but we’d have been selling ourselves short averages wise. I think they’ll be looking at a 3.40ish rider
  12. The big drama would come in heat six, Kye Thomson making a sharp gate and riding the dominant outside line to head home number one Chris Harris. Inexplicably the red lights came on and the race was stopped, the explanation that the referee had hit the button by mistake. Thomson would repeat the trick in the re-run on the way to a ten point haul
  13. He’s got about 11 years on Scott Nicholls
  14. I don’t think you can read too much into the order the team is announced. Thomson will be back I’m pretty certain.
  15. If my maths is right that would leave 8.5 to play with but we could only use 7.99 of that? The high 7s riders will be in huge demand this season. Paco plus a higher averaged reserve than Wood might be a better route?
  16. Christ, you were on that quickly. I hadn’t even pressed confirm on the edit!
  17. Victor was signed for Berwick edit. Sorry realise this post was before it was announced
  18. That’s a great team tbf but Kye will be back. I’d love to see Erik back in blue and gold at some point though.
  19. Ask it every year but what would Wolbert come in on?
