  1. You are totally missing the point. Students wont necessarily go to speedway and as such need a little encouragement to attend (i.e. lower prices). OAPs are likely to be, but not exclusively, long term fans who have gone to speedway for years. It makes absolutely no business sense whatsoever to give people who will attend regardless of price (within reason) a discount. Surely you can see that??
  2. Sigh.... will the promotion get more in the long term by giving students and children or OAPs reduced entry? If you expect discount as a form of goodwill in a sport that is losing money hand over fist in most instances then I think you are mad.
  3. I am sorry but that view of students is just as sweepingly inaccurate as other views on OAPs from this thread.
  4. Tenuous parallel to say the least. There will always be older speedway supporters so long as you encourage people along in earlier life. Lower ticket prices should be given to children and those taking children in my opinion.
  5. No one is really talking about Clegg. Not totally out of the question that he returns.
  6. I know what you mean but i could see Sedgmen putting another 1-1.5 on his average. He showed he was still good round Armadale at the Scottish Open this year. Theo could put a couple on 4.23 so again i think worth the gamble. Not fussy about Morris to be honest. That said if they have a 5.00 Fox/Riss/Pickering type rider in the plan then Sedgmen and Theo would mean they were 0.1 short.
  7. Odd decision but the over 65s are probably the most wealthy in society!
  8. Pijper on a 4.23 just has to be in. I'd be astonished if he wasn't part of the plans.
  9. Would Pijper not come in on 4.25 or thereabouts? Could see him adding to that tbh. Wouldnt have Davey back. Sedgmen Pijper Clegg That would suit me.
  10. Nicki Pedersen not liking you probably means you're a good egg.
  11. Slightly odd making him an asset if a season later hes not riding championship.
  12. The difference in standard between the two leagues is nothing like what it used to be. Time for a north and south division then the cup compettions and pairs/fours as a total country?
  13. If as rumoured, the Premiership moves to a 12 team league, is their any chance Edinburgh could be one of the four moving up?
  14. Agree but might not be Edinburgh's decision i suppose. Full time Premiership isn't the lure it used to be so if he does choose to leave i expect it's for more racing on the continent?
  15. Erik's post on Facebook after the Ipswich meeting suggested he doesn't expect to be back.
  16. Roughly 8.5 left for three riders. Probably not going to happen. Agree on Davey. Nice guy but not good enough.
  17. Right folks, what do you think/have you heard re. 2018? We need to lose one of Erik, Sam and Ricky i think? First stab... Sam Masters Josh Pickering Mark Riss Theo Pijper Erik Riss Max Clegg An. Other
  18. Credit to Ipswich; strong reserve pairing and having Schlein round Armadale is a real bonus. Heat 8 left a bit of a nasty taste - quite within his rights to shut off on the third bend but didn't think it was necessary.
  19. Ht13 looks the turning point. I fear 10pts is too much to make up.
