  1. Starman will be going mad! Fancy that, making the track wet.
  2. Somersets straights are along way apart - which means big long bends and no need to have to lock up/scrub off much speed. the bend/straight ratio is out of proportion compared to older, traditional tracks.
  3. I don't see the issue. The rulebook says not PZM permit holders in the PL and has done about 5 years now. Yet we've not had hundreds (or even 1 AFAIK) Pole take the BSPA/SCB to court. I would imaging if you did the bi-annual threats to ban their riders riding over here and the way their clubs call rider back no a whim is damaging to British Speedway might help in any argument.
  4. Music matters. Imagine Jaws without the iconic "duh do, duh do, duh do" music and in stead playing the Beach Boys - wouldn't it be nice. suddenly you have gone from sinister and scary film that has you on the edge of your seat to lovely nice montage. TV, film and computer games ALL use music to convey feelings and emotion. Make it fast and loud and people will get excited, make it slow and quiet and people will clam down. Why the hell would you want to calm people down at a speedway meeting? It's not about people liking it, it's not about it being modern or from the 90s or 70s (theres some perfectly apt and usable music from the 70s!). If music was that simple nobody would bother with DJs, they'd just stick a mix CD on (like they do at speedway) or put a Spotify play list on.
  5. I'm not sure how to put this tactfully but lets not forget that one of our riders quite recently died over there. So they have one hell of a cheek. I'd call their bluff, I'd ban all Poles from British Speedway anyway. They're already banned from the PL anyway* *PZM permit holders anyway - legally I'm not sure you could ban Polish people.
  6. Great, so find one where both he and Craig Cook are not missing. It's not hard. I've built a fixture complier that you put in all the dates a club want to ride home meetings, all the dates clubs cannot ride and it compiles the EL and PL fixtures with no clashes. It takes about 20 second to run once you have put the date in. Yet nobody at the BSPA can manage it. And my system prevents any team having at any time more than 2 more home fixtures than away or vice versa and having more than 2 fixture more than any other team. So all nicely spread out and even.
  7. So the Poles think British speedway is dangerous and want to ban their riders riding over here.
  8. You need to watch Touring cars then. They do something similar to that (but quite confusing, to do with drawing a number and reversing the grid from that position) plus they give the better cars a weight handicap.
  9. Given a choice of Stead or Auty it depends what the criteria were. A one of race, pick who I like but he has to win it? Stead. Sign based on average and entertainment? Auty. Josh is one of a handful of riders who I really enjoy watching ride and often, IMO, adds to a meeting.
  10. Thats not quite true is it? You've used two EL meetings for one rider to try prove your point.
  11. Why the hell has a BV meeting been arranged on a day Zagar has a prior commitment FFS?! This is why people get pissed off. Out of 20-odd Saturdays they pick one Zagar can't do!
  12. Except it's not. But lets not go there again.
  13. Doubling up is not done for the benefit of the rider but to save clubs a few £££. Why bring in a Swede, Dane or Czech from abroad when you can get someone from the PL?
  14. Good for him. That's the easiest way to do it and it's hardly held back Greg Hancock has it? Such a shame he didn't start riding until he was in his 20's, if he'd at 16 and improved at the rate he has he'd only be 22 or 23 now and we'd be raving about a potential future World Champion. Although referring back to Hancock again, Richard could have another 15+ years left in him yet so who knows? He seems to have slipped under the radar and gone about his business in a steady fashion. I honestly though he'd managed to get himself an inflated average last year due to being a second string all season but he seems to have started off in fine form - I doubt there will be many rider go to Poole and drop just two points all night - certainly not heat leaders.
  15. Aaron is Alan son. And Ellis is nephew of Dave Perks the ex-rider and son of Robbie the ex-referee. Reading one or two Cradley fans thoughts is amusing. It's seems to have just hit them that they don't have a right to win everything and they may not be the best team this year and might actually have to work a bit for any success this year As someone else pointed out, you got 3 league points, no need to worry just yet
  16. They were always going to ride. There was no way Poole would turn up with 2 juniors at 1 and 3.
  17. Nothing to do with speedway though. He crashed a moto-x bike. That didn't happen in the 60s!
  18. You were told on the accident thread you were wrong about Voldrh crash and that no air fence was involved. Not sure what it has to do with Ward though.
  19. Hopefully a season riding at Leicester will mean he learns to gate a lot better!
  20. It's professional sport. They have already been given a chance, how many more rides so they want? Maybe they should be guaranteed heat 15 too. And any other rides they want.
  21. You'll have starman on here moaning if you're not careful
  22. There was no air fence. He crashed into a rider on the straight. And once he had hit the fence he and the bike parted and never made contact again. Not sure where you got your description of the crash from but it's totally wrong.
  23. Really? It does amuse me how people claim the EL is just the PL with one extra ride and others (and some times the same) claim the PL is better. Is watching Craig Cook vs Sam Chapman really that great? Now the biggest gaps in the EL will be between the top second strings and bottom reserves or the bottom second strings and top heat leaders. Most EL races have riders of the same standard in, the PL just mashes everyone together. Where the PL gains is that is has tracks like Somerset, Scunthrope and Sheffield - all known as good tracks. A good track and riders of a similar level will make the best racing.
